2024/2025: Students wishing to withdraw must do so in writing. A refund may be issued, minus a $35 administration fee, if sufficient written notice is received with reason prior to October 17, 2024. There are no refunds for Session or Summer classes.
Competitive student fees are non refundable.
Registration fees are non-refundable.
Once recital costumes have been ordered, they are also non-refundable.
Summer Camp polices are noted separately.
Please leave a message on the voice mail, text us, send an email or Facebook Messenger if your child is to be absent from class.
A) If your child is too sick to attend school, they are too sick to observe their class in person.
B) If your child is running a fever, has a cough, has potentially been exposed to a person with a contagious illness (such as COVID-19), vomiting/etc.; they should remain home. When in doubt, please remain home.
C) If your child has been diagnosed with head lice, it is the policy of Step By Step School of Dance that your child may not enter the studio until they are clear of head lice.
D) If you suspect Strep Throat or any other highly contagious illness, then your child needs to remain at home until free of symptoms, or has been seen by a doctor and approval given to return to class.
E) It is the policy of Step By Step to require each student self screen for illness before they attend class. If a student becomes ill, you will be asked to return immediately to bring your dancer home.
F) Hand hygiene is facilitated for all students. Students may choose to wear a mask during class.
Please check the SBS Website, Facebook page or phone message 1 hour prior to class when we are experiencing inclement weather. If classes are cancelled, there will be a message indicating this.

SBS does reserve the right to cancel classes with insufficient enrollment. An alternative option will be presented.
All on-line class registrations and camp requests are subject to approval of the Artistic Director. All accounts will receive confirmation of requested classes or alternative recommendations as applicable. There is an annual non-refundable $35 registration fee, per student and is not included in your tuition fees.
Class placements at Step By Step School of Dance are based on ability not age, and not the number of years a child has danced. All registrations are reviewed by the Artistic Director and if an alternate class is advised, we will reach out.
At this time, payment is accepted by Cash, Cheque, Visa and MasterCard or E-Transfer Standard applicable merchant fees per use are applied on check out at $5 per transaction. Fees are to be paid in full at time of registration, or a credit card may be kept on file and will be billed on the 1st of the month.
Monthly payment plans are subject to a 5% financing fee and a credit card must be left on file or postdated cheques must be issued.
A $35 service charge will apply to all NSF/returned cheques regardless of reason and the amount owing would then be due in cash, certified cheque or money order. In addition, a 10$ monthly late fee will apply.
Credit card on file: If you have selected to pay tuition monthly, you are agreeing to your credit card on file to be run automatically on the 1st of each month. You must notify the studio if you wish to pay using an alternate method PRIOR to the 1st of the month.
1) Shoes are not permitted inside the studio. Outdoor shoes MUST be placed in the units located at the main entrance. Shoes and boots may not block doorways. Coats must be hung on hooks provided.
2) Students are expected to enter every class on time, properly attired (please see dress code policy), no jewelry, no chewing gum.
3) No disorderly conduct in class. Children may be asked to leave class if they remain disruptive.
4) Please enter the facility quietly, as classes are in progress. Parents and siblings in the waiting area are asked to keep voices to a minimum.
5) Parent supervision is important before and after classes. Parents are asked to pick up their children immediately following their dance lessons. Students up to the age of 17 must wait inside the facility to be picked up.
Communication is primarily via Facebook page our Monthly Newsletter, and Email. Or, you may visit or call anytime during office hours.
At Step By Step we do take photos and videos of our students for our newsletters, Facebook page and website. We never use names, or allow public tags to occur. You are authorizing Step By Step to take photographs and post within our studio, Facebook/IG page and website. Please advise the office ASAP if you do not wish any photography of your child.
