It is important that students and those accompanying them are safe. This includes, but is not limited to mental safety, emotional safety, physical safety, sexual safety. If we see any behavior that impacts on the safety of a student or persons on the premises where any class or rehearsal are taking place, we will address it first verbally, then depending on the severity of the incident will decide whether to proceed with written complaints of behavior or if necessary, police involvement. If a student is found to be bullying other students, they will have opportunities to correct their behavior towards the other students. If they cannot, then class schedules might be arranged to have students separated to protect those who are being bullied. If the bullying behavior continues in another class directed toward another student, they will be asked to un-enroll from the school until such a time as the bullying behaviors have been addressed (with medical or social-worker help where necessary). Leaving Studio It is expected that students will have left the studio 15 minutes after their last class for the day has finished. If caregivers are running late, please contact the teacher so that arrangements can be made to keep the student safe. Illness Students and those who accompany them to class are expected to stay away when sick. If those taking students to class are sick we are happy for you to wait in your car for pickup and drop off, or for you to arrange someone else to take your student to/from class. If we know beforehand, we can watch out the window to see where you are parked and watch the child (5-14 years) walk to your car. Parents/Caregivers are expected to clean up their students bodily spills.
