STEP BY STEP DANCE STUDIO, LLC
2024-2025 General Information & Policy Agreements

Competitive Team Dancers: Parents are responsible to pay the required registration fee, and monthly tuition by the 1st of the month. All fees and fundraiser dues are non-refundable and non-transferable. No exceptions. The dancers will be required to attend weekly dance classes, attend dance camps and dance clinics, participate in dance competitions with the team, and be able to perform in other dance-related events throughout the year. This is a full-year commitment.

Drill Team Coaching, Technique, and Adult Dance Class: Adults and/or Parents are responsible to pay the required registration fee, and monthly tuition by the 1st of the month. The dancers will be required to attend their weekly dance classes. All fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. No exceptions.

COMPETITIVE TEAM REGISTRATION FEE
One-Time Registration fee of $100.00 is due for all students each dance season. This is a non-refundable and a non-transferable registration fee, no exceptions. Parents are required to create a parent portal on our website, enroll your child, and submit payments online or in person. This applies to TINY, MINI, YOUTH, Junior, and SEnior TEAMS.

TUITION FEES AND PAYMENT
Tuition is due on the 1st of the month and tuition. If there are holidays or studio closings, the tuition will remain the same. To be on the competitive dance team, each dancer must be enrolled every month in their competitive class per week. All accounts will be assessed a $15.00 late fee if payment is not received by the 3rd of the month. All fees paid to the studio are non-refundable and non-transferable. Tuition and registration fee are required on the portal. You are required to submit cash only for fundraiser monies, costume monies, and other fees.

MONTHLY TUITION (Keep in mind that the payment system will add additional convenience charges for using a credit card and/or ACH.

*Other expenses will accrue due to camp(s), clinic(s), uniform and costumes, entry fees, etc.These fees must be paid and are non-refundable and non-transferable. No exceptions.

IMPORTANT EVENTS FOR COMPETITIVE TEAMS
SBSDS dancers will be required to attend the following events listed below. SBSDS will notify each dancer and parent with the exact dates, times, and fees for each event at a later time.

HOLIDAYS/STUDIO CLOSINGS - SBSDS will be closed in observance of holidays. Calendars will be given.

Handbook: You are required to read the SBS Handbook and follow all guidelines and expectations. By agreeing to this waiver, you understand that this would be your electronic signature that you agree to follow the guidelines, rules, and policies at SBS.

ATTENDANCE
Regular class attendance, events, competitions, clinics, and all SBS dance-related activities are REQUIRED. Absences will affect the individual student as well as the class. Dancer who is absent will lose their place in the routine. No makeup class will be allowed. All dancers must attend all classes. Excessive absences 2 or more per semester will result in dismissal. Only absence allowed is due to illness with an excuse.

HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT/ LIABILITY/ PHOTO AND VIDEO RELEASE WAIVER: Please read and accept the waiver in the SBSDS Parent Portal.

INCLEMENT WEATHER
In the event of inclement/threatening weather, please check our website at www.stepbystepdance.net. We will also post this information on social media, REMIND, and send out class emails. Please make sure you are added to our REMIND group, update your phone numbers, and update your email address on file with us. We follow the lead of the Harlingen CISD calendar to close. However, please use your own discretion as to the weather and road conditions in your area.

STEP BY STEP DANCE STUDIO COMPETITIVE TEAM AUDITIONS
SBSDS dance team audition is open to all female dancers. The auditions are mandatory to be part of the dance studio and are based on age groups ranging from 7-18 years old. Auditions are held at the discretion of the directors. Once selected, it is mandatory for all SBSDS dancers to pay additional fees for camp(s), clinics, uniforms, costumes, accessories, etc which will be announced at a later time. CANCELLATION OR COMBINING OF CLASSES
SBSDC reserves the right to cancel or combine classes at any time.

Keep in mind, these policies may be amended at any time throughout the season by SBSDS Administration and Director.

INSURANCE
Step by Step Dance Studio does not carry medical insurance for dancers. It is required that all dance students be covered by their own family’s insurance policy if an injury or accident should occur. By accepting the waiver(s) in your parent portal, it is understood that the family/student’s own policy is your only source of reimbursement. The studio is not to be held responsible for any causes of injury or accidents.

Step By Step Dance Studio (SBSDS)
Hold Harmless Agreement/Liability and Photo and Media Release Waiver.

The undersigned parent(s) are considered the I/We. The dance participant is considered the child, dancer, and participant throughout the entire Hold Harmless Agreement/Liability and Photo and Media Release Waiver. Step By Step Dance Studio, LLC managers, owner, administration, directors, employees, instructors, faculty, volunteers, assistants, servants, agents and assigns are considered the RELEASEES in this Hold Harmless Agreement/Liability and Photo and Media Release Waiver.
1. I/We, the undersigned parent(s) indemnifies and hereby agree to release Step By Step Dance Studio, LLC and Hold Harmless Step By Step Dance Studio, LLC managers, owner, administration, directors, employees, instructors, faculty, volunteers, assistants, servants, agents, dance guests, and assigns (RELEASEES) of all liability whatsoever for any damage or injuries, and from any and all claims and demands, including attorney fees, arising from the my child’s participation in dance lessons, classes and other dance-related activities provided by SBSDS at and/or at the facility of Step By Step Dance Studio, LLC or any facility hosted by SBSDS.
2. I/We, the undersigned parent(s) hereby acknowledge that I/We, the undersigned parent(s), knowingly and voluntarily assume full responsibility for all risks arising out of active participation in dance lessons, dance classes and other dance related activities through Step By Step Dance Studio, LLC on behalf of myself, the legal guardian, and the dance participant (my child).
3. In consideration of Step By Step Dance Studio, LLC providing the opportunity for and permitting the dance participant to participate in related activities. I/We, the undersigned parent(s), do hereby release, remise and forever discharge, indemnify and agree to HOLD HARMLESS WAIVE, DISCHARGE, and COVENANT NOT TO SUE Step By Step Dance Studio, LLC, managers, owner, administration, directors, employees, instructors, faculty, volunteers, assistants, servants, agents and assigns hereinafter referred to as RELEASEES, from any claim, demand or cause of action whether now in existence, or hereafter arising for any loss of personal property, injury to or death of the participant, arising or resulting from, caused by or contributed to in whole or in any part by any action or failure to act, negligence, breach of contract, or other misconduct on the part of Step By Step Dance Studio, LLC, managers, owner, administration, directors, employees, instructors, faculty, volunteers, assistants, servants, agents and assigns (RELEASEES), any other participant in said classes, any participating parent and/or any one or more of any thereof.
4. I/ We, the undersigned parent(s), recognize and acknowledge that certain risks of harm are or may be inherent in the various activities contemplated herein and that Step By Step Dance Studio, LLC and/or RELEASEES cannot control all of these risks. I/We, the undersigned parent(s), are aware that dance training exercises associated with it place unusual stress on the body and carry with them the risk of physical injury.
5. I/We, the undersigned parent(s), assume the risks involved and understand that dance instruction involves kinetic correction that may include physically touching the dance/participant as part of the regular class work and/or rehearsal.
6. I/We, the undersigned parent(s), assume the risk and agree that Step By Step Dance Studio, LLC, administration, directors, instructors, assistants, and dance faculty have permission to engage in the appropriate kinetic correction of the body for technical corrective purposes as part of regular class work.
7. I/We, the undersigned parent(s), UNDERSTAND THAT Step By Step Dance Studio, LLC, managers, owner, administration, directors, employees, instructors, faculty, volunteers, assistants, servants, agents and assigns (RELEASSEES) WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY MEDICAL COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH ANY INJURY THAT I OR MY CHILD MAY SUSTAIN.
8. I/We, the undersigned parent(s), also understand that I/We, the undersigned parent(s), should and am/are urged by Step By Step Dance Studio, LLC and RELEASSEES to obtain health and accident insurance to cover any personal injury to me/my child which may be sustained.
9. I/We, the undersigned parent(s), agree that I/We, the undersigned parent(s), and my child (dance participant) will adhere to the Rules and Regulations promulgated by Step By Step Dance Studio, LLC and obey all local, state and federal laws while participating at Step By Step Dance Studio, LLC and any other related activities and events.
10. Use of Image Agreement: I/We, the undersigned parent(s), understand my child (dance participant) may occasionally appear in promotional performance videos, photos, news media, social media, brochures, and other materials and media as a result of her association with Step By Step Dance Studio, LLC. By registering and enrolling my child/dancer at Step By Step Dance Studio, LLC, such use of my child/dancer’s name and likeness are agreed to and acknowledged and, accordingly, all right, title and interest in the same are waived.

IN SIGNING THIS RELEASE, I/WE, the undersigned parent(s), ACKNOWLEDGE AND REPRESENT THAT I/we, the undersigned parent(s), have read the foregoing Waiver of Liability, Hold Harmless and Use of Image Agreement, understand it and sign it voluntarily of my/our own free act and deed; no oral representations, statements or inducements, apart from the foregoing written agreement, have been made; I am at least eighteen (18) years of age and fully competent or, if I am under eighteen (18) years of age, my parent or legal guardian’s approval and signature has been obtained; and I/we, the undersigned parent(s), execute, the undersigned parent(s) and dance participant sign this Hold Harmless Agreement/Liability and Photo and Media Release Waiver for full, adequate, and complete consideration fully intending to be bound by the same.
By checking the “agree” box, I have read and agree to the above terms and conditions of this agreement.

I have read a copy of Step By Step Dance Studio policies, and handbook presented to me in person, and will take the responsibility to carefully read and follow the rules and policies therein. I understand that the handbook, policies, and other waivers by SBSDS may be added and/or amended at anytime. I understand Step By Step Dance Studio has a drop off only. I understand that Step By Step Dance Studio does not give credit and/or refunds for class(es) missed due to holiday, vacation, illness, weather, etc. I understand that SBSDS does not refund any fees or funds paid to SBSDS. No exceptions. I further understand that there are specific risks of physical or property damages, losses, or injury that may result from my or my child’s participation with Step By Step Dance Studio, and I voluntarily assume the risks associated with such participation.

I agree this electronic signature is the legal equivalent of my manual signature on this agreement.
