Eligibility/Placement & Suggested Classes:
For returning students all suggested/eligible classes will be included in your portal with registration. Please note that suggested classes are based on student eligibility given general age/level class offerings and are not required. Classes labeled higher than Level I do assume 1-2 years of prior experience. If a student wishes to be considered for a class or program not listed on the suggested classes, you may email the studio to inquire about eligibility or evaluation.
For new students - please follow guidelines listed for each class (age range, level, and any pre-requisites) when registering. After registration or start of the season, we reserve the right to place students based on their age, ability and dance experience.
Classes with less than 5 students may be combined into other classes, unless the parents and students agree to continue as a closed semi-private class.
Class Attire & Uniforms & Studio Etiquette:
Class Apparel Recommendations and any uniform requirements will be sent out following enrollment and included on the website to purchase.
Students are expected to arrive on time, be properly attired and ready to learn. We expect students to behave with a level of self-control and respect that is appropriate for their age. Students will be verbally corrected or asked to sit out by the teacher or assistant if deemed necessary.
Only registered students are permitted in the studio during class time unless they have prior permission from the teacher or director.
We ask that parents and students please not interrupt a class, except in the case of emergency. For all general questions or concerns, please refer to the front desk. If you would like to arrange a time to talk with the director or a teacher, please schedule an appointment with the front desk to inquire about availability.
Yearly Calendar & Studio Closings:
Please refer to the yearly calendar listed online for dates of holidays, breaks, and no-class dates as well as the live calendar in your portal. The exact schedule is updated in the summer after school calendars have been published.
If the studio closes due to inclement weather, we will make an announcement in your portal, email, and social media. While we usually follow Montgomery County Public School closings, the studio decides independently if it will open or not.
Absences & Make-Ups:
We expect students to attend every class. If you/your child will be absent for any reason, please e-mail or call the studio as early as possible. Students or parents should not contact the teachers directly.
Students will not be refunded for missed class. If possible – an eligible make-up class will be offered. If class is missed close to the recital or a performance, a private lesson may be required to make up missed material (at the discretion of the teacher, and private lesson fees apply).
All students enrolled in competitive teams must follow the specific attendance/make up policies set within their program terms.
Trial Classes:
Select Classes Indicated Online are eligible for "Trial" Enrollment. Each student is automatically allowed 1 Trial Class Per Season, and enrollment must be completed by contacting C-Unit Studio.
A trial includes 3 classes only at a set fee, after which the dancer must register or drop he class by the specified deadline (October 15th for Full Year Program or 1st Semester Classes and February 15th for 2nd Semester Classes).
Class after Trial: the remainder of the tuition payment due for that class (difference between trial cost and tuition payment) will automatically be charged, and all other subsequent tuition payments will be charged on the regular due dates
Dropping A Class After Trial: no further payments will be due; if the dancer chooses to drop the class before the end of the trial period - no refunds, credits, or prorating will apply
Please Note that Availability for each class is limited with only a certain amount of slots available for a "Trial"; there is no guarantee that a class will not sell out or that trial availability for a particular class will remain open as registration fills up; if you are unsure about registration for a particular style of dance and wish to guarantee enrollment - we can also help set up private lessons before the season start date.
