DAW account holders must be at least 18 yrs. of age.

Payment
Enrollment in auto pay is required and all families are required to have a valid credit card on file. Registration fee, costume fee(s), monthly tuition and performance fee will be automatically debited.

Registration Fee / Deposits
A one time Registration Fee of $60 is charged for all new students. Registration fees are only re-assessed is a student withdraws and re-enrolls in the program. Registration fees and deposits are non-refundable.

Tuition
Full tuition is collected each month, regardless of the number of weeks in a month. Tuition will be automatically debited using the card on file on the 1st business day of each month and is considered late if it is not paid by the 10th. On the 11th day of each month a late fee of $25 will be applied to any account that reflects an outstanding or past due balance. Tuition will remain the same regardless of pre-scheduled studio closings or holidays. Tuition payments are non-refundable. Tuition will remain the same regardless of the number of weeks in the month. If your account shows any balance greater than $0.00, on any given month, this amount will be auto debited on the 1st of the month. If your account shows a credit your account will not be auto debited.

Costume Fees
At the time of registration or in August of each year, a $50 costume deposit will be charged for each class. The balance due will vary depending on class and will range from $40-$70. The balance due will be posted to accounts in December and drafted in January with tuition. Costume deposits and fees are non-refundable for any reason. If your dancer withdraws from his or her classes prior to costumes being ordered you agree to forfeit your costume fee. Tights will be included for costumes that require them. Costume fees do not include shoes, which are the responsibility of the parent .Regarding size, fit, and alterations: We will measure all students prior to ordering costumes. We take the following measurements - chest, waist, hips, girth, and inseam. When choosing sizes for our students, we refer to a specific sizing guide, provided by costume companies. We leave room for growth when choosing sizes. It is important to realize that costumes are not tailored made to fit the needs of each student and from time to time alterations will need to be made. Alterations and any cost associated with alterations are the responsibility of of the parent.

Performance Fee
The performance fee is $160 per student and will be posted to accounts in January and automatically debited February 1st with tuition. Performance Fees are non-refundable for any reason. The Performance Fee includes a recital t-shirt, dancer's stage time, links to recital videos, a memory program, a trophy, and other recital related expenses.

Summer Camp Parties and PNO (Parent Night Out)
Upon registering for a summer dance party or PNO the full amount for the event must be paid at the time of registration to hold your dancer's spot. All fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

I attest that my child has not had a fever greater than 100.4 within 24 hours of class time. It is also my promise to continue to be vigilant in monitoring the health of my child anytime he or she is scheduled to come to dance class. I understand that all viruses are easily spread, and I will not bring my child to dance if he or she has has a fever greater than 100.4 within 24 hours of class time, complains of a sore throat, headache, body aches, or upset stomach. I will speak to my child about proper hygiene practices such as washing hands before class, after using the restroom, keeping ones hands to oneself, and keeping ones hands away from ones face. Students are not allowed to share water bottles or food while on the premises of Dance Academy West. I agree that myself, my child, and my family members will help to maintain a safe and healthy environment while on the premises of Dance Academy West, which includes throwing away any mess that we make, returning chairs and stools to their original place, properly disposing of trash, paper towels, etc. I understand that eating and drinking are limited to the front lobby only, and that dancers may take water bottles only into the dance rooms.

Admission and Placement
We offer a 12 month progressive program for ages 3-adult. Classes are divided by grade and ability. DAW staff is happy to assist in choosing a path that will best suit your child's needs and allow for him or her to reach their highest dance potential. The director will have the final say in each dancer's placement. For some classes, levels may be combined. In addition, the experience gained here at DAW may differ from experience gained at other dance studios. If your child is placed in a level in the middle of our season, or has come from another studio mid season, we may feel the need to move him or her to a different level in order for them to receive the best dance experience possible. We reserve the right to cancel classes with less than 5 students and change class instructors. In the case of class cancellations, we will do our best to transfer students to a similar class. DAW does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities or operations.

Parent Observation
Weekly observation is only allowed for Level 1 and 2 classes. Parent Appreciation Weeks will be scheduled sporadically throughout the season, at which time we will invite up to 2 parents / guests into the facility to observe. Parents should not address instructors between classes or during class time.

Drop Off and Pick Up
Students should not be dropped off or picked up any longer than 5 minutes before or after class. Dropping your child off too early or picking him/her up later than the 5-minute allowance will result in additional tuition costs of $5 per minute.

Withdraw Procedures
If you choose to withdraw, notification via email must be received by the 15th of the month to prevent your account from being charged tuition for the following month. If a dancer withdraws and decides to re-enroll, a $60 Registration Fee will be reassessed. Any dancer on the competition team will be responsible for all fees outlined in their contract for the remainder of the season. Any previously collected tuition or fees, including costume fee(s) and the performance fee are non-refundable. If a dancer withdraws prior to the distribution of costumes he / she forfeits their costume and related fee(s).

Recital
Every summer our dancers take the stage for our Summer Recital. All dancers are required to participate in the Summer Recital. Our recitals are organized in such a way as to provide our students with a true, professional, stage experience. Recitals are ticketed events and any person, including parents, wishing to watch the recital will need a ticket. Our recitals sell out each year, and it is the responsibility of the parent to stay informed on all matters regarding the recital.

Sibling Discount
Families with two or more children dancing will receive a 10% discount off total monthly tuition. Sibling discounts do not apply to cousins, extended family members, or friends. Sibling discounts cannot be combined with any other discounts.

Studio Closings and Make-Up Classes
Tuition will not be pro-rated for pre-scheduled closings, closings due to inclement weather, closings due to Acts of God, or student absences. Make-up classes will not be scheduled for the following pre-planned studio closings: Labor Day, Fall Break, Thanksgiving Break, Christmas Break, Winter Break, and Spring Break, and Memorial Day (refer to our Studio Calendar for specific dates). If the Douglas County / Carrolll County / Carrollton City schools close or cancel after school activities due to inclement weather, or any other Act of God, the studio will close as well. If your child misses class due to illness or other reasons such as vacations or school functions, please call the studio to schedule a make-up class. Make-up classes will not be allowed March 1-May 30, as we prepare for our Summer Recital. Each student is allowed a maximum of four make up classes for the entirety of the season.

Attendance / Absences
Enrollment in our program allows dancers to be a part of a 12 month progressive dance training program. There is not a specified "end date" to our program, and parents can choose to withdraw from our program at anytime with the understanding that once a student is withdrawn DAW has the right to fill their spot, and that a Registration Fee will be reassessed if the dancer re-enrolls. The studio will close for holidays and other breaks and these dates will be specified on our website under News / Calendar. Good attendance is very important and excessive absences may result in dancers being removed from part or all of their recital dance(s). Should a dancer be removed from part or all of a dance, any fees associated will be non-refundable, including tuition, costume fee, performance fee, and ticket purchases. This policy is to ensure that all dancers are well prepared and confident when they perform on stage. Good attendance is important for for the benefit of all dancers enrolled in a class.

Dress Code
All students must adhere to the studio dress code and must wear a cover-up when entering and exiting the building. Students should NEVER wear their dance shoes outside. The dress code can be found on our website. Camp students should wear comfortable clothing and shoes that are clean on the bottom. Students with muddy shoes will not be permitted in the dance rooms.

Student and Parent Conduct
Questions or concerns should emailed to info@danceacademywest.com and the director or your child's instructor will contact you regarding the issue. Parents should not address instructors between classes or during class time. Parents and students should not discuss studio issues with one another in a negative manner. Gossip, rumors and other negative discussions will not be tolerated.

Waiver of Liability
I understand and agree that in participating in any dance class, workshop, rehearsal or performance, there is a possibility of physical injury or death, exposure to health concerns, viruses, and other contagious illnesses. I knowingly accept such risks, known and unknown, including exposure to health concerns, including but not limited to viruses such as COVID-19. I voluntarily agree, therefore, to assume all risks and responsibility for any such injury, illness, or accident, which might occur to me, my child, any of my family members, or any guests of mine or my child's during any of Dance Academy West dance classes, rehearsals, performances, camps, or activities. I also exempt, release, and indemnify Dance Academy West, its owners, agents, volunteers, assistants, employees, contractors, guest artists, faculty members, and/or students from any and all liability claims, demands, or causes of action whatsoever from any damage, loss, injury, illness, or death to me, my children, or property which may arise out of or in connection with participation in any classes or activities conducted by Dance Academy West. I further hereby voluntarily agree to waive my rights and that of my heirs and assigns to hold Dance Academy West, its owners, agents, volunteers, assistants, employees, contractors, guest artists, faculty members, and/or students liable for such damage, loss, injury, illness, or death. I understand that I should be aware of my physical limitations and agree not to exceed them. I understand that I should be aware of my child's physical limitations and agree to not have him or her enrolled in dance classes if I do not believe this is a safe activity for my child. If I am signing this waiver for my children, I certify that I am the parent or legal guardian and have the right to waive these rights. I understand that my child may be photographed and/or filmed during class time or any other time he/she is involved in a program, rehearsal or recital offered by Dance Academy West and that Dance Academy West has my permission to use his/her name and/or picture for purposes such as advertisement or representation.
