Tuition and Fees
• Tuition will be posted to your DanceStudio-Pro account. You may view your statement on your parent portal or the free app. If you need assistance accessing your account please visit the desk at the studio so we can assist you.
o Tuition is set based number of hours of class time per week. It is calculated based on how many classes in each month. A regular month will have 4 classes (one class per week). If a month has 3 classes due to closure tuition will be prorated. If it is a longer month with 5 classes, tuition will be higher than the set amount due to the extra class.
• We will follow Lauderdale County Schools Calendar from August-May. Summer sessions will operate on a different schedule, with the same pricing
• Any class with less than 5 students registered may be cancelled at the discretion of L.M.ent Staff.
• Weather cancellations will follow Lauderdale County Schools decisions.
• Registration fee:
o A registration fee of $30 is due at time of registration for all students, except all class pass students. Annual fee charged with enrollment each year.
o Registration fees cover non-tuition essentials such as: insurance, music licenses, studio communication administration, and helps keep tuition costs lower.
• Recital Fees:
o There is an annual fee ($40) for Recital that covers the cost of venue, photographer, programs, and videographer.
o Recital videos are an additional cost.
• Recital Costumes:
o Dancers will be measured for costumes in January.
o For dancers with 1-2 costumes, payment in full is required when measured. For dancers with 3 or more costumes, a deposit of $20 per costume is due at the time of costume measurement.
o Costume fees range from $40-100 per costume. We try to keep costume costs as low as possible. Payment for costumes is due by March 1.
• Level Testing:
o Level testing is $15 per test. You may test as often as you like, but payment is due prior to the test.
• Due dates
o All tuition and fees will be due the first of each month.
• Late fees
o A late fee of $25 will be assessed on the 7th of each month if tuition has not been paid by that date.
• Credit Card Fee:
o 3.05% credit card processing fee will be charged for all credit card payments.
• Discounts
o Discounts are at the sole discretion of Mrs. Leah. No discounts will be provided without her approval.
• Refunds and Prorating
o There will be no refunds or prorating for absences. Tuition is prorated for dates the studio is closed ONLY.
o There will be no tuition refund if a student drops a class during the month. Classes should be dropped prior to the first day of the month.
o No refunds will be issued without Mrs. Leah’s approval.
• Payment
o Tuition may be paid by cash, check, credit card, or online through your portal.
o All tuition and fees are due the 1st of each month
o NEW! This year we are requiring every family to keep a card or account number on file.
o We reserve the right to process the cost of tuition on the 12th of the month if you have not yet paid.
o If payment is declined on the 12th, your dancer will not be permitted to enter any class until payment is received.
Class Placements
• We reserve the right to determine ALL class placements. L.M.ent Staff will make the final call on all level placements. Placements will be made based on age, ability, and dance experience.
• Mrs. Leah and Mrs. Michaela may determine level in a trial class or by Level Testing.
o Level testing is $15 per test. You may test as often as you like, but payment is due prior to the test.
o Students will not be placed in classes ABOVE their level.
• Competition team is by invite only. If chosen you will be invited to AUDITION. Dancers must demonstrate maturity, positive attitude, and required skills for the group they are auditioning for. Invitation to audition does NOT guarantee a spot will be given.
Attendance and Participation
• Students are expected to arrive for class on time. If a student arrives more than 15 minutes late, they will not be allowed to enter.
• Children under the age of 8 may not be in the studio without supervision. the L.M.ent dance studios is not licensed to provide childcare services.
• The class schedule is subject to change. If a change becomes necessary, all families in the class will be notified.
• Studio news, information, and closings will be sent through DanceStudio-Pro and posted to our Facebook Page. You may also view the latest Studio news on the white board in the studio lobby.
• Students may add classes at any time throughout the season. However, keep in mind we begin teaching recital dances in January, so if you add a class after January, your dancer may miss choreography.
• Students who wish to drop a class may do so prior to the first day of each month. There will be no tuition refund for classes dropped during the month.
• If a student must withdraw from the studio, please notify the front desk to prevent additional charges. You will be responsible for any charges on the account at the time of withdrawal.
Studio Conduct
• For our students' safety, no one is allowed inside the studio rooms without a teacher present at any time.
• No food, gum, drink, or street shoes are allowed inside the studio rooms at any time.
• For everyone's safety, no running or horseplay is permitted at the L.M.ent dance studios
• Parents are welcome to stay and view their children's classes in the lobby viewing area.
• No one is permitted inside the studio rooms, unless invited. If you need to get a message to your student, please ask the desk to deliver it.
• All choreography is property of the L.M.ent dance studios. Please refrain from posting video on social media or other internet venues.
• Students must dress for each class according to the Dress Code set forth for each genre of dance. No street clothes or street shoes are permitted inside the studio rooms.
• Parent Conduct
o Please refrain from discussing students, teachers, choreography or studio-related matters in a way that may offend other parents, teachers or students in the reception area or on social media.
o Parents should be supportive of all students in the studio. Negative comments and gossip of any kind regarding other dancers, parents, or studio staff will not be tolerated and may result in you being dismissed from the studio. Parents are expected to always give positive feedback and let the dancers be proud of themselves.
o The studio room is off limits to all parents and siblings unless invited in. Trust in the instructors’ knowledge of dance and abilities as a teacher. The students cannot focus on dance or improve if you are right over their shoulder. We want the dancers to build confidence in themselves, and that starts with you giving them some independence in the studio.
• Student Conduct
o Dancers are expected to behave in a polite and respectful way toward all teachers and fellow dancers. Students are expected to treat teachers, parents and each other with courtesy and respect at all times, including during class, at competitions, at performances, and on social media.
Dress Code
• NEVER wear dance shoes outside.
• Creative Movement:
o Pink leotard, skin colored tights, pink Canvas Ballet Shoes, black Slip-on Tap Shoes
• Combo Classes:
o Black leotard, skin colored tights, pink Canvas Ballet Shoes, black Slip-on Tap Shoes, skin colored Canvas Jazz Shoes
• Ballet:
o Leotard, skin colored tights, pink Canvas Ballet Shoes
• Jazz, Lyrical, or Contemporary:
o Dance shorts with tights or Leggings, fitted top, skin colored Canvas Jazz Shoes or Canvas Half Soles
• Tap:
o Dance shorts with tights or Leggings, fitted top
o Ages 3-7 – black Slip-on Tap Shoes
o Ages 8+ - black Lace-up Tap Shoes
• Hip Hop:
o Leggings, dance shorts with skin colored tights, or sweatpants, fitted top, barefoot
o Sneakers are permitted for hip hop as long as they are NOT used for anything but the studio. We do not allow street shoes on the floor.
• Acro/Silks:
o Dance shorts with tights or Leggings, fitted top, BAREFEET no shoes allowed in Acro
o Clothing must be fitted. No baggy clothes.
• Boys:
o Comfortable athleticwear, fitted t-shirt, shoes based on style (view style dress code above.
• Dancers should show up for class wearing the correct colors and attire. Hair should be up and out of the eyes and there should be no long jewelry. Wraps or tutus can be worn over the leotard.
• There will be no exceptions for out of dress code. The dress code is there to aid in teaching proper body alignment. Dancers who show up for class out of dress code will not be permitted to take class that day.
Studio Facility Specific Information
• Parking:
o Do not park in the driveway next to the building.
o Do not block the house behind our building.
• Entering and Exiting the Studio:
o Only enter and exit through the main door.
o Do NOT enter through the garage door if it is open. There are classes taking place in Studio B, it is distracting for people to walk through, and parents and siblings are not permitted in the studio rooms.
I agree to all the L.M.ent dance studios policies and procedures. I understand I am responsible for all fees incurred by my/my child’s participation in classes and activities at the L.M.ent dance studios.
