I, the Parent/Guardian along with my Dancer, understand and accept all conditions, rules, and requirements physically and financially to participate in the A.D. West Dance Competition Team Program for the 2024-25 dance season from the present date through and including the last Award Ceremony on the day of the National Dance Competition in 2025.
PARENTAL CODE OF CONDUCT:
● I, the parent/guardian, and dancer understands, accepts, and agrees:
●To respect staff, guest instructors, parents, and dancers.
●To maintain good healthy, positive, and affirming relationships with everyone and to lead by
example in an encouraging way in all situations at the studio and in public places.
● Uphold the trust placed in them by others.
● Maintain high standards of ethics and behavior, within and outside the dance studio.
● Treat others with dignity; build relationships rooted in mutual respect.
●There is zero tolerance for bullying of any kind, whether it be in person, on social media, email,
or texting. This includes instigating or demonstrating any micro aggression/passive aggressive
behavior.
● To show tolerance of and respect for the rights, faiths, and beliefs of others.
● To Ensure that personal beliefs are not expressed in ways which offend other parents, staff or
dancers or their families.
● To act with integrity in all professional and business judgments, demonstrating honesty, fair
dealing, courtesy and consideration for other dance professionals, organizations, dancers and their families at rehearsals, performances, competitions, etc. Your dancer/family is an ambassador, representing the very best of our studio, A.D. West Dance Company.
● To refrain from use of any illegal substances on the premises, before or during any public events, including performances, rehearsals, and competitions. Firearms/weapons are not permitted inside the studio premises.
● To ensure that social media content is positive and not speak disparagingly about A.D. West Dance Company. Failure to adhere to this requirement may subject to you being blocked from all studio social media.
● Parent/guardian/dancer will respect and trust the decisions made by the A.D. West Dance Company Staff in regards to what is best for the dancer and the team.
● Parent/guardian/dancer will support the decisions made that are in the best interest of the dancers.
● Parent/guardian/dancer will respect the A.D. West Dance Company’s Staff, fellow dancers and any other organizations connected to the studio.
● Parent/guardian/dancer WILL NOT participate in any form of Bullying behavior verbally, physically, emotionally, or mentally towards other teammates, parents and or guests.
● Parent/guardian/dancer WILL NOT participate in negative conversations in regards to A.D. West Dance Company or the staff with anyone!
● Parent/guardian/dancer agree to reveal to the Director of A.D. West Dance Company information in regards to failing grades in school, misconduct at school/in the public and/or any concerning behavior that is not favorable of being a positive role model.
● Parent/guardian/dancer accept the consequence of any actions that violate the Code of Conduct. Violation may result in a possible loss of funds and/or permanent dismissal from A.D. West Dance Company.
● Parent/guardian/dancer agree to ensure adherence to attendance guidelines. This includes arriving for class at least 10 minutes prior to the start of class. Tardiness is distracting and disruptive to others. Dancers who arrive late (i.e. doctor appointments, school functions, etc.) must get permission from the instructor before participating in the class. Contact must be made with the team mom at least 30 minutes prior to class who will then notify the Director.
COMMUNICATION
Email and text are the major forms of communication. It is imperative that the studio has a current email address and phone number. If any changes occur to your contact information during the year, please notify us of the changes immediately. Please contact the director or team mom if you are having technology issues or need to update information.

ABSENCES
Excused absences include but are not limited to:
Illness or injury - requires a medical excuse to return, death in the family, and school events that require participation for course work to be graded. Dancers with injuries are still required to be in attendance and observe all scheduled classes.
Calendars for all school related additional activities must be provided in advance to the Director.
BULLYING/HARASSMENT/ MICROAGGRESSION POLICY
A.D. West wishes to provide a safe, inclusive environment that fosters an individual's creativity and love for the dance arts. We do not tolerate bullying of any kind, verbal, written, or physical. Egregious offenses may result in immediate dismissal from our program.
BEHAVIOR AND DISCIPLINE POLICY
Behavior that A.D. West deems inappropriate will not be tolerated including bullying, weapons or illegal use of substances. Instances in which a dancer is not adhering to the Code of Conduct will result in an incident report to be kept in the dancer's file. Each incident will be reported to the parent who must acknowledge the report online within 24 hours.
A.D. West reserves the right to issue consequences as it sees fit, especially if there is a severe discipline problem, a recurring issue, or a serious offense.
Note: No refunds of payments related to the any fee assessment will be issued.
MEDICAL INFORMATION/MEDICATIONS
Parents must disclose and provide a summary of your dancer’s medical condition(s), along with any current medication(s) for your dancer. Please be as detailed as possible and inform A.D. West of any changes in medication or physical restrictions. The information you provide to A.D. West is strictly confidential and used solely for your dancer’s safety.
Dancers with injuries must provide written clearance by the proper physician to resume dance activities that outline any restrictions, therapy plan and therapeutic support equipment.
STUDIO CLOSURES
A.D. West follows the Douglas County Public Schools calendar for studio closings for major holidays and inclement weather. A.D. West may amend scheduled closures even when school is not in session. Monthly studio calendar will confirm expected holiday closures and dates. In the event of an unexpected closure or class cancellation, the studio will communicate via the studio Social Media platforms as well as in Messenger groups. Instructor will provide make up dates for unexpected class cancellations.
Parent/Company Member Agreement:
I understand and accept the financial and time commitment explained to me for the Competition Season of 2024-25.
I will agree to keep a supportive attitude and remain loyal to my agreement and commitment to A.D. West Dance Company and my fellow Team, Parents, and the staff.
Parent Booster Club Agreement:
I agree, accept, and understand the importance of participating in the A.D. West Parent Booster Club including the financial and physical support including but not limited to the mandatory group fundraising initiatives, loading, and unloading props at all designated venues and annual Booster Club assessment fee as discussed at the Parent Meeting.
Competition Team Agreement:
I understand that this is a full commitment that will begin in August 2024 until the final awards ceremony at dance competition Nationals in 2025. I understand that if I am not able to remain committed for the Full Competition Season, I am required to honor this agreement and pay monthly tuition for every month vested in my dancer during the active season with A.D. West Dance Company’s Competition Team Program (e.g., if your dancer has been in the competitive program for 3 months, the assessment equals any outstanding fees plus 3 additional months for leaving or being dismissed from the program before the end of the Competition Dance Season).
