The free New Student Lesson is important so we can help prepare the dancer for their first class.  Part of this is having the right attire and shoes.  As a mother of three, I know how those expenses can add up so we will assist you to get quality attire as inexpensively as possible.

Instructors for Contemporary, Tap, Hip-hop, and Capoeira may prescribe different attire. The following applies at all ballet classes.

Shoes.  We have an onsite inventory and are happy to make recommendations. If you choose to order any items from Discount Dance always add Teacher Code 122788 to your order to get all applicable discounts.

Leotards.  We have an onsite inventory and are happy to make recommendations. If you choose to order any items from Discount Dance always add Teacher Code 122788 to your order to get all applicable discounts.

Dance Tights.  We recommend ballet pink convertible tights for women and girls and have an onsite inventory. We are happy to make recommendations. If you choose to order any items from Discount Dance always add Teacher Code 122788 to your order to get all applicable discounts.

Hip Alignment Belts.  (Does not apply to Pre-Ballet, One Class Walk-in, and other non-ballet classes).

Many vendors carry these or similar items.  However, we can order them for you, usually for less, so we can ensure your dancer has the correct size and will have a consistent look with their classmates.  If you prefer to order your own, we recommend using DiscountDance.com.  Be sure to ask us for a discount coupon if you choose to order any items from Discount Dance and always add Teacher Code 122788 to your order to get all applicable discounts.  For optional items such as ballet skirts and tutus, we are happy to provide advice and can order these for you, generally for less than you will pay from other vendors.

Evergreen School of Ballet Release of Liability

IN CONSIDERATION OF my child/ward being allowed to participate in dance instruction with the Evergreen School of Ballet, I acknowledge, appreciate, and agree that:
The risks of injury and illness (ex: communicable diseases such as MRSA, influenza, and COVID-19) to my child from the activities involved in these programs are significant, including the potential for permanent disability and death, and while particular rules, equipment, and personal discipline may reduce these risks, the risks of serious injury and illness do exist; and,
1. FOR MYSELF, SPOUSE, AND CHILD, I KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, both known and unknown, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES or others, and assume full responsibility for my child’s participation; and,
2. I willingly agree to comply with the program’s stated and customary terms and conditions for participation. If I observe any unusual significant concern in my child’s readiness for
participation and/or in the program itself, I will remove my child from participation and bring such attention of the nearest official immediately; and,
3. I myself, my spouse, my child, and on behalf of my/our heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, HEREBY RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS Evergreen School of
Ballet; their directors, officers, officials, agents, employees, volunteers, other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, advertisers, and if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the event (“Releasees”), WITH RESPECT TO ANY AND ALL INJURY, ILLNESS, DISABILITY, DEATH, or loss or damage to person or property incident to my child’s involvement or participation in these programs, WHETHER ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
4. I, for myself, my spouse, my child, and on behalf of my/our heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, HEREBY INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS all the above
Releasees from any and all liabilities incident to my involvement or participation in these programs, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THEIR NEGLIGENCE, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
5. I, the parent/guardian, assert that I have explained to my child/ward: the risks of the activity, his/her responsibilities for adhering to the rules and regulations, and that my
child/ward understands this agreement.

Videos and Photo Release
I understand that images and video of my student in both the studio or performance setting can be used by the Evergreen School of Ballet Collective to promote business, promote dance or educate others in the field of dance.

1. Parents are welcome to observe all instruction but we ask you not to interfere with or distract the dancers.  Our littlest dancers can be especially distracted by having a parent present. If you have any questions, we are happy to discuss those in private after the class is over.

2. Photos are allowed, however please only photograph your own child and avoid disrupting the class or distracting the students.  No flash photos. 

3.  The dance floor has a Marley surface to prevent slipping.  At no time may anyone be on the dance floor unless they are wearing clean ballet shoes, socks, or bare feet.  No street shoes or chewing gum, ever.

4.  We take your child's safety very seriously.  Ms. Marshall and Mr. Palmatier have both completed the process to serve as Jefferson County teachers and have passed background checks.

5.  We will not publicize the full name of your child without your permission.  We ask you to observe the same policy in your social media postings.

6.  Ballet shoes are designed to reduce the chance of slipping and make for a higher level of hygiene (we clean the floor each day, but not between classes).  Therefore, we require ballet shoes for all classes.  If your dancer forgets their ballet shoes, they may take the class in socks but this is not recommended because they can easily slip.

7.  We strongly recommend a free lesson and placement evaluation prior to starting dance instruction.  We can assist you in selecting the right size of shoes and other attire, and answer your questions.

8.  Payment for the first month of classes is due upon enrollment.    After that, tuition is due on the first day of the month (we will send you an invoice).  Students are automatically re-enrolled for the next month on the 25th of the preceding month).  Failure to notify us of disenrollment will result in a $20 charge.  This is necessary so we can accept new students who may be on a waiting list.

9. If classes are to be cancelled because of inclement weather or some other reason, we will send out emails/texts and also put a notice on this website.  Make-ups will be arranged if possible.

10.  If you do not intend to attend a class, please let us know in advance if possible.  This will help us start classes on time and not be waiting for those who won't be there.  We will help you to schedule a make-up class if possible but there will be no refund of tuition.

11.  Upon arriving, dancers should change into the proper attire and sit and stretch quietly so as not to disturb ongoing instruction.

12.  Parents are welcome to do some shopping but we ask you to return before the end of class.

13.  By using the free wi-fi you acknowledge the Evergreen School of Ballet has no responsibility for network security.

14.  No peanuts please.  We provide free filtered water.  

15.  Tuition is for a calendar month.  In the case of a mid-month enrollment, tuition will be prorated.
