O'Grady Quinlan is committed to providing a safe and supportive community that fosters a lifelong love for Irish Dance. In order to guarantee that all of our dancers are able to best pursue their passion, we have implemented a comprehensive anti-bullying policy applicable to our students, dance families, staff, and employees.

We define bullying as any behavior; physical, verbal, written (either electronically or in person), that detrimentally targets another dancer. This behavior is described as bullying if it physically, emotionally, mentally harms a dancer, targets a dancer for any actual or perceived characteristic, or creates a hostile environment in the dance studio.

REPORTING BULLYING:

We understand that the under reporting of bullying is the biggest hindrance to stopping further harassment. Please email OGQteachers@gmail.com with any concerns.

A member of the OGQ Staff will then contact the alleged bullying party, the alleged victim, teachers, assistants, and parents who may have possibly witnessed the event. If he/she finds evidence that corroborates the report, this will serve as the basis for scheduling a course of action meeting. Any staff member including educators, associates, and administrative personnel are required to intervene if they are made aware of the possibility that bullying is occurring including but not limited to witnessing bullying. All personnel are required to intervene by filing the report directly. If a parent is the one making the studio aware of the bullying event, the parent is required to take on the primary responsibility of filing a report.

VIOLATIONS:

OGQ will not tolerate bullying in any form: physical, emotional, social or otherwise. As such, we have implemented a Zero Tolerance Bullying Policy. Since our goal is to empower people and embrace individuality, one documented bullying event will have repercussions which may include suspension from classes, performances, competitions or immediate termination of enrollment for egregious violations.

Please note, as per the policy above, OGQ recognizes that bullying does not just occur between students. If a parent or guardian has witnessed bullying or is harassing another student, parent, or OGQ staff member, there will be repercussions. Any penalties above are to be made without any refund for classes missed, competitions or costumes.

At OGQ, respect and compassion are two of our core values. All dancers are entitled to learn and develop their art in a positive, respectful environment. We realize that every situation reported through this form may require a unique follow-up and each case may be handled differently.

By clicking my consent below I agree to all the waivers and policies listed. I also agree to hold O'Grady Quinlan harmless to any incident related to the waivers listed. I also note that these waivers are in effect until a new waiver is signed or both parties agree to the waiver revocation in writing.

Dancers in Beginner and 1st year Bun Grad A have no mandatory requirements! The below applies to 2nd year Bun Grad A, Bun Grad B, Bun Grad C, PreOpen and Open dancers only.

OGQ would not function without the support of our OGQ families and friends. We are continuously grateful for your support. There are a few mandatory fundraising events held throughout the year. Funds earned from these events go directly towards covering studio capital expenses so we can avoid raising tuition every year. In addition, we host other events to help foster team spirit, raise funds for scholarships and student rewards.

FUNDRAISING FOR COMPETITIVE DANCE FAMILIES:

You are a competitive dance family if you attended more than 1 feis in the last dance year.

VOLUNTEER FOR COMPETITIVE DANCE FAMILIES:

10 hours of volunteering during the St Patrick's Day Season, OGQ Feis, Recital and/or Class Feis.

2 hours of volunteering throughout the year for USA IDA events

Dancers will not be allowed to compete at any feiseanna or majors for the period of one year if the above is not completed.

REQUIREMENTS FOR DANCERS WISHING TO ATTEND PROVINCIAL AND WORLDS:

Dancers that would like to be considered to attend the 2024 Provincial will need to have attend the mandatory provincial camp Aug 5-9, 2024.

FUNDRAISING FOR NON-COMPETITIVE DANCE FAMILIES:

A non-competitive dancer is one who takes the full year program and participates in dance outs and/or recital only

OGQ Class feis: Entry fee, regardless of participation. Please note: this is more of a class assessment than an actual competition. Dancers will receive a medal for participation and comments from the judge for each dance!

Support another OGQ fundraiser, like the Fall Fundraiser, Coronation Raffle or the Recital raffle in the amount similar to the OGQ An Chomhdhail Registered Feis entry of their level.

We ask that dancers follow the below code of conduct. It is important that you have your dancer read the below info!

-I will be on time for class
-I will wear the appropriate uniform of OGQ shirt and black shorts. Any color socks are allowed as long as they don't have patterns/design on them. Black socks are discouraged on girls. No jeans, leggings or pants are allowed. I understand that I will be asked to change or asked to sit if i show up without the OGQ uniform.

-I will treat my classmates and teachers with respect. I understand that I should treat others the way I would like to be treated. I will treat them with respect in person and also on all social media posts, both public and private.

-When I am at a competition or show, I will act courteously towards my parents, fellow competitors, and spectators attending the event. I understand that my highest priority at a competition or show is to focus on my performance and to do my absolute best! At dance outs, shows and competitions I will behave in a professional manner that will positively reflect on myself and my dance school.

-I will treat my teachers and teaching assistants with respect at all times and speak to them in a considerate manner. Any instances of inappropriate behavior will have consequences.
I will demonstrate good sportsmanship by being supportive of my classmates in competitions and watching them perform and receive awards. I will strive to congratulate everyone regardless of my placement. Bad sportsmanship is prohibited and can result in OGQ taking away the privilege of competing.

-I understand that my school depends on me to put forth my best effort at all times including being present and ON TIME at all scheduled practices (unless I’ve been excused by a teacher) and treating my teammates with kindness and understanding. If a dancer misses a class, a teacher may instruct you to take a private lesson to catch up on missed material.

-I understand that my place in a team/show is determined by my teachers. I understand that they take into consideration what is best for me and for the team as a whole when making these difficult decisions. I will respect the teachers of the O’Grady Quinlan Academy of Irish Dance by refraining from questioning decisions regarding material dancers are given, team placement, and eligibility for shows/competitions.

-No drinks besides water in the studio. Food is allowed during camp days and must be eaten in designated areas such as in the lobby at a table or within the tiled area. Food must be able to be eaten without the use of a microwave.

-I understand that it is my responsibility to do my part in keeping the studio clean. I will adhere to the cleaning chart in Studio C and do my cleaning chore/s daily after class (PreOpen/Open).
-NO GUM.

-I will not use, sell or possess alcohol, drugs, tobacco, or weapons of any kind.


It is my privilege, not my right, to participate in competitions, classes and performances with the OGQ. I understand if I do not follow the Code of Conduct, I will face consequences determined by any or all of my teachers. I understand that these consequences will be dependent upon the severity of the violation and could include suspension from class, dance outs, shows, or competitions; or being expelled from the school.

In exchange for participation in dance classes, online classes, private lessons, workshops, and/or dance-outs organized by O’Grady Quinlan Academy of Irish Dance, Inc. and taught by ADCRG, TCRG, and/or any approved instructor (fitness/yoga et. al.), I agree for myself and (if applicable) for the members of my family, to the following:

1. I agree to observe and obey all posted rules and warning and further agree to follow any oral or written instruction or directions given by any teacher, employee, representative or agent for O’Grady Quinlan Academy of Irish Dance, Inc.

2. I recognize that there are certain inherent risks associated with all forms of Irish dancing and/or exercises and drills and I assume full responsibility for any injury to myself and (if applicable) my family members, and further release and discharge any teacher, employee, representative or agent of O’Grady Quinlan Academy of Irish Dance, Inc. for any loss or damage arising out of my use or my family’s use of or presences upon the facilities used by O’Grady Quinlan Academy of Irish Dance, Inc., whether caused by the fault of myself, my family or other third party. In addition, I recognize that there are certain inherent health risks associated with group activities and I assume full responsibility for any illness that may occur to myself and (if applicable) my family members by participating in such activities, and further I release and discharge any teacher, employee, representative or agent of O’Grady Quinlan Academy of Irish Dance, Inc. for any loss or damage arising out of my use or my family’s use of or presences upon the facilities used by O’Grady Quinlan Academy of Irish Dance, Inc., whether caused by the fault of myself, my family or other third party.

3. I agree to indemnify and defend O’Grady Quinlan Academy of Irish Dance, Inc. against all claims, causes of action, damages, judgments, costs or expenses including attorney fees and other litigation costs, which may in any way arise from me or my family’s use of the facilities (Easton or Allentown Studio) used by O’Grady Quinlan Academy of Irish Dance, Inc.

4. Student classes may be modified for safety of the facility, other students and teachers. These modifications could be limiting student or parent access to the building, asking them to wear a face covering, asking students who are symptomatic or possibly exposed to a harmful virus or disease to refrain from attending classes or moving class locations outdoors. These waivers apply to all those situations. While this paragraph is drafted with COVID-19 in mind it could apply to any situation where safety of the students, teachers or facility needs to be taken into consideration.

5. I agree to pay for all damages to the facilities used by O’Grady Quinlan Academy of Irish Dance, Inc. caused by me or my family’s negligent, recklessness or willful actions.

6. Payments made to O'Grady Quinlan Academy of Irish Dance, Inc. are non-refundable for any reason.

I HAVE READ THIS DOCUMENT AND UNDERSTAND IT. I FURTHER UNDERSTAND THAT BY SIGNING THIS RELEASE, I VOLUNTARILY SURRENDER CERTAIN LEGAL RIGHTS.

It is VERY IMPORTANT that EVERY PARENT AND CHILD ENROLLING IN OGQ UNDERSTANDS AND ABIDES BY OUR MISSION STATEMENT!

PHILOSOPHY - The O’Grady-Quinlan Academy believes that the best interests of every student are served when all Academy members – dancers, teachers and parents – regularly affirm and strengthen the following:

• CULTURAL APPRECIATION: We deeply appreciate the art form of Irish dance and the roots of the tradition, and try to instill in each student a lifelong love and appreciation for the art and its roots.

• COMPETITIVE EXCELLENCE: We are committed to providing our students with intensive competitive training with an emphasis on technical mastery.

• PERFORMANCE: We believe that performance is a valuable tool through which students strengthen their dance and teamwork skills, connect with the community, and enjoy their talent with others.

• COMMITMENT TO COMMUNITY: We feel a strong sense of connection to our community, including those less fortunate, and look to build bridges of friendship and community through our dance.

At OGQ we expect that parents lead by example. We are asking the dancers to abide by a code of conduct and parents should proudly follow our parent code of conduct.

I have read and understand the O’Grady Quinlan’s Dancer Code of Conduct and Class Requirements - I agree that my child will abide by the requirements regarding attire, social media usage, dance-out participation, and support all mandatory school events.

I will help my child learn good sportsmanship by encouraging him or her to support classmates in their competitive efforts even when my child is disappointed with his or her own results. My child and I will make a genuine effort to congratulate all competitors when they are successful, especially members of our school. I will encourage my child to always be kind and courteous to other competitors.

At dance outs, shows and competitions I will behave in a manner that will positively reflect on my child, myself and OGQ. I understand that when OGQ is hired for an event, it is not my right to watch my dancer. I will abide by all guidelines set out for each specific dance out.

When at a competition of any level, I understand I should never approach an adjudicator for any reason. If I have a concern or question, I should contact an OGQ teacher and only as a last resort, approach the feis organizers in a kind and courteous manner.

I understand OGQ has a zero tolerance policy on gossip (in the studio or online). Please do not post anything negative about OGQ on social media or any other digital forum. I understand the teachers of the OGQ may suspend or expel my child from class, competitions or shows if gossiping or the posting of inappropriate comments occurs. Also, please refrain from bragging about a dancer’s achievements in the studio. It tends to send the wrong message to dancers and parents.

I understand that my dancer’s classmates depend on him or her to put forth his or her best effort at all times which includes being present at all scheduled practices (unless my dancer has been excused by a teacher).
I will always encourage my child to treat teammates with kindness and understanding and suggest to my child that he or she offer assistance instead of criticism when someone isn’t catching on quickly.

I will help my child understand the importance of keeping the studio neat and clean. I will instruct my child to pick up after themselves and I will help keep the study tidy. I will take time before I leave to make sure everything my child left is picked up and disposed of; and remind them of their cleaning chore.

Lobby Area is open to parents with dancers in Beginner, Bun Grad A, and Bun Grad B ONLY
If my dancer is at that level, I will supervise my dancer and their siblings while in the lobby area and changing area. The lobby area is not for siblings to be let loose. Families not abiding by this policy will have their waiting privileges revoked. If my dancer is not at that level, I understand that the only reason I can wait in the studio is if I have volunteered to be there helping out with various duties. There is a Starbucks and Panera 10 minutes from the studio if you would like to get work done or wait somewhere.

I am responsible for picking up my child at class on-time. Parents must watch their dancer enter the building. All dancers must leave supervised with a parent, unless they are driving themselves. We don’t want anyone to be walking out of the studio by themselves- regardless of age! Please use the buddy system.

I am NOT ALLOWED to enter the dance studio rooms unless it is emergency or I am invited in by a teacher.
I understand that my dancer's place in a class, team or show is determined by the teachers. I understand that they take into consideration what is best for my child and for the team as a whole when making these difficult decisions. I will refrain from questioning teachers decisions regarding material any dancer is taught, class assignment, team placement, and eligibility for shows/competitions. Because I have entrusted the teachers and teaching assistants of OGQ with my child’s Irish dance training and education, I respect that they are experts in this field and have final say on these types of decisions.

Dancers under the age of 18:
The O’Grady Quinlan Academy has my permission to use my or my child’s photograph publically to promote the school. I understand that the images may be used in print publications, online publications, presentations, websites, and social media. I also understand that no royalty, fee or other compensation shall become payable to me by reason of such use.

Dancers 18 and older:
The O’Grady Quinlan Academy has my permission to use my photograph publically to promote the library. I understand that the images may be used in print publications, online publications, presentations, websites, and social media. I also understand that no royalty, fee or other compensation shall become payable to me by reason of such use.

In addition, any feisanna/provincial hosted by an An Chomhdhail branch/school will have permission to announce/post names, pictures, and anything else relative to the feis/provincial including but not limited to results, awards, official photography pics on social media for advertising purposes, etc

All O’Grady Quinlan teachers, assistant teachers, dancers and family members represent the school. As such, conduct should be consistent with the high standards, values, and ethics set by our association/organization. You are personally responsible for the content of your posts. Post responsibly and protect your own privacy.

Please be mindful that your behavior on social media can be seen by others. Do not discuss dancers, parents, vendors, feis organizers, teachers, adjudicators, event organizers or other partners in a negative manner.


Be respectful to your fellow classmates. Do not use insults, obscenity, racial slurs, or ethnic slurs. Do not talk about any other student or family on social media in a negative way in either a public or private post. Posts, which OGQ deems hurtful or hateful, will be subject to disciplinary action. Be aware of and respect copyright, fair use and financial disclosure laws. Do not put competition steps up on social media. Videos from public performances may be posted with approval from TC’s. A good rule of thumb is only post a snippet of a dance show or recital piece, not the entire dance. OGQ owns the copyright to all choreography presented at the school.


We all respect free speech rights. However, be mindful that others have access to the online content you post. Keep this in mind when publishing information online that can be seen by more than friends and family, and know that information originally intended just for friends and family can be forwarded on.
Remember never to disclose OGQ business and be aware that taking public positions on line that are counter to the OGQ’s interests might cause conflict. Please be respectful.

Any breach of Social Media Guidelines may result in possible exclusion from class or dismissal from OGQ.

This agreement is for our registered dancer commencing 9/7/2024 and ending 6/31/2025.
Parents of registered dancer have agreed to pay O’Grady Quinlan the following tuition and fees effective 9/7/2024:
- Registration fee of $50
- Monthly payments of $90 per month (September-June inclusive)
- Spring Class feis fee $50
- Fees for optional competitions
- Recital fee if participating
- Optional extra camps workshops that they choose to attend.
Should your account be sent to collections, you will be responsible for all legal fees. Any amount past due more than 7 days will be subject to a 15% late fee. If for any reason, a dancer resigns, parent(s) are required to give 30 days notice prior to the next billing date to withdraw their dancer.

For Bun A and Bun B dancers who take soft and hard shoes classes one day per week:
This agreement is for our registered dancer commencing 9/7/2024 and ending 6/31/2025.
Parents of registered dancer have agreed to pay O’Grady Quinlan the following tuition and fees effective 9/15/2024:
- Registration fee of $50
- Monthly payments of $110 per month (September-June inclusive)
- Fee for OGQ Winter Feis
- Spring Class feis fee $50
- Fees for optional competitions
- Recital fee if participating
- Optional extra camps workshops that they choose to attend.
Should your account be sent to collections, you will be responsible for all legal fees. Any amount past due more than 7 days will be subject to a 15% late fee. If for any reason, a dancer resigns, parent(s) are required to give 60 days notice prior to the next billing date to withdraw their dancer.

For Bun A and Bun B dancers who take soft and hard shoes unlimited classes per week:
This agreement is for our registered dancer commencing 9/7/2024 and ending 6/31/2025
Parents of registered dancer have agreed to pay O’Grady Quinlan the following tuition and es effective 9/15/2024:
- Registration fee of $50
- Monthly payments of $150 per month (September-June inclusive)
- Fee for OGQ Winter Feis
- Spring Class feis fee $50
- Fees for optional competitions
- Recital fee if participating
- Optional extra camps workshops that they choose to attend.
Should your account be sent to collections, you will be responsible for all legal fees. Any amount past due more than 7 days will be subject to a 15% late fee. If for any reason, a dancer resigns, parent(s) are required to give 90 days notice prior to the next billing date to withdraw their dancer.

For Champ a la carte tuition:
This agreement is for our registered dancer commencing 9/7/2024 and ending 6/31/2025 for the 10 month plan.
Parents of registered dancer have agreed to pay O’Grady Quinlan the following tuition and fees effective 9/7/2024:
- Registration fee of $50
- 10 monthly payments of $190 per month (September-June inclusive)
- Fees for competitions/feiseanna they are participating in
- Rectal fee if participating
- Major competition teacher fees if attending the major
- Optional extra camps or workshops that they attend.
Should your account be sent to collections, you will be responsible for all legal fees. Any amount past due more than 7 days will be subject to a 15% late fee. If for any reason, a dancer resigns, parent(s) are still obligate to fulfill their financial commitment for the remainder of the contract year.

For Champ All Inclusive tuition:
This agreement is for our registered dancer commencing 9/7/2024 and ending 5/31/2025 for the 9 month plan.
Parents of registered dancer have agreed to pay O’Grady Quinlan the following tuition and fees effective 9/7/2024:
- Registration fee of $50
- 9 monthly payments of $295 per month (September-May inclusive)
- Fees for competitions/feiseanna they are participating in
- Rectal fee if participating
- Major competition teacher fees if attending the major
- Optional extra camps or workshops that they attend.
Should your account be sent to collections, you will be responsible for all legal fees. Any amount past due more than 7 days will be subject to a 15% late fee. If for any reason, a dancer resigns, parent(s) are still obligate to fulfill their financial commitment for the remainder of the contract year.
