*************FAQ’s & GENERAL POLICIES***************
IMPORTANT:
By voluntarily registering in a program at Leap Studios, the participant who completes the registration transaction agrees to the following terms fully detailed below.
*RECITAL
Our annual recital is held on June 7th, 2025 and is the showcase of our classes that are part of the Full Season and Competition Program.
Each student in the Recital is assessed a Performer Fee that includes:
-receiving a high-quality recital costume to keep,
-a high-quality recording of your child’s dance on stage at no extra charge,
-theatre fee
-supervision fee
-Performer Fee is $175 +GST per dancer, and the additional costume fee (if the student is in multiple classes) is $125 +GST. Tickets are sold for the event - families choose how many family members are attending. Ticket fee is based on the venue booked for the event.
*HOLIDAY SHOWCASE PERFORMANCE
The Holiday Showcase is held annually at the end of January, at an offsite venue. Performer Fee is $75 +GST for a showcase costume, and tickets are sold for the event - families choose how many family members are attending. Ticket fee is based on the venue booked for the event.
*REGISTRATION POLICIES
Please note that all tuition and fees are nonrefundable, and withdrawing after registering for the course provides a 6-month credit to your account. We recommend that students contact a school administrator to schedule a trial class before committing to a semester.Our trial classes run in June, July, August, and September.
*Age Group/ Levels
Leap Studios will place all students into the most appropriate level allowing them to progress safely and proficiently through our programs for their health and success. All students are generally placed in classes by age with utmost consideration for level and experience.
Final placements will be determined after the first few weeks of courses commencing, once we have a full assessment of individual students and all classes. A trial or placement class may be recommended to determine proper fit of level and ability for each class.
*Trial Classes
Leap Studios offers trial classes as a way for students and teachers to select the best suitable class. A trial class may only be taken once per style/level. There is a $35 trial class fee which may be deducted from tuition if registering for the class within the same week. Trials must be booked 48 hours in advance and are non-refundable. Please contact a school administrator to set up a trial class. Please note that the balance for the class after the trial can be paid in full or by setting up a payment plan.
*Competitive Program
Leap Studios Competitive program classes require pre-approval to join. Students interested in taking these classes or want to learn more should contact a school administrator.
*Payment
Please be sure to read and understand all policies carefully before signing up for a class and contact a school administrator with any questions before signing up. Please note that all tuition and fees are nonrefundable.
Payment is due at the time of registration. Space cannot be reserved in a class until both registration/performance fees and tuition payment have been received. Ifoptions are available with an additional fee and can be arranged with a school administrator.
*Tuition Payment Options
1. Full Course Fee
2. Deposit/Balance: 50% (per class) deposit at the time of registration; remainder of tuition due by December 1, 2024

*Membership Fees
There is a $100 +GST Membership fee for all students (competition program has a separate Membership fee). Students taking multiple classes will only pay one Membership fee per season.
*Performance Fees
All performance based classes will be assessed a performance fee for the January Showcase ($75) and for the June Recital ($175). Performance fees are due within 30 days after posted to the parent portal account. Performance fees include a show costume (that you keep) and a digital download of your child’s concert.
*Prorated Tuition
Students are encouraged to register and join classes at the beginning of the semester in order to stay on track with class curriculum. However, Leap Studios will happily welcome new students into our programs should we have space available in a class. Students will be required to take a trial class first to ensure they are placed in the appropriate level and that both the teacher and student feel they are able to join in the curriculum with a late start. Prorated tuition will be calculated and provided to the registrant after the trial class has taken place.
Leap Studios Inc. does not provide refunds nor credits for any deposits or installments paid once a class has commenced and the client has decided to withdraw.
**WITHDRAW PRIOR TO THE COURSE COMMENCING:
A client who withdraws prior to the start of the first class in the course has their installment payment plan for future payments canceled; there is no refund nor credit on the previously paid amounts.
**WITHDRAW AFTER THE COURSE HAS COMMENCED:
In the case of medical leave extending past four weeks of consecutive absences or an extreme circumstance, a deferment of enrolment to a later date will be made available.
Leap Studios Inc. reserves the right to deliver classes in the medium available to the business and clients in accordance with public health measures at any given time within the season, including but not limited to:
*online synchronous or asynchronous delivery,
*at another location within 15 km,
*and/or on a modified schedule.
*Refund / Cancellation Policy
There are NO REFUNDS once registrations and fees are processed and paid. TUITION AND FEES ARE NON REFUNDABLE. In the event that your child is unable to attend class due to extenuating circumstances, a school credit may be considered. This credit is applicable towards future children’s classes only, is not transferable to any adult programs, and expires 6 months after the date it is issued. All classes are subject to cancellation dependent upon student enrollment. In such cases a school administrator will contact all students in advance to coordinate alternative class and tuition options.
By enrolling in a course or receiving a product from Leap Studios Inc., you agree to the following.
There are NO REFUNDS NOR CREDITS PROVIDED on any of the following products and services:
*Class tuition deposits to secure registration
*Class tuition due after withdrawing from classes/programs
*Costume fees
*Membership fees
*Team fees
*Competition entry fees
*Group/solo/duet/trio choreography fees
*Store merchandise
*Event/Workshop fees
*Performer fees
*Ticket fees
*Showcase fees
In the event that Leap Studios is unable to offer in-studio classes due to imposed government regulations that prohibit the school to deliver classes in person, virtual classes will be offered. There will be NO REFUNDS OR CREDITS offered for classes that are transferred to a virtual platform.
*Responsibilities of Parents/Guardians
Any medical, physical or emotional needs your child may have should be discussed before enrolling your child so that the teacher can help develop a curriculum to better fit your child's individual needs. Please contact a school administrator to facilitate this process.
NO students are allowed in the studios without a teacher present at any time. Students must wait with their caregiver in the lobby (if the child is age 5 and under) for their teacher to welcome them into the studio.
Caregivers must wait until class start time before dropping their child off and should be on time for pick up. Faculty are unable to assume responsibility for students once dismissed from their scheduled class; in the event of an emergency delay in pick up please call or text the front desk at (403) 862-1237 and leave a message.
*Attendance
Please notify us in advance when students will be unable to attend class. This can be done on the Dance Studio Pro portal that manages your communication and registration with Leap Studios. Please be prompt with both drop off and pick up of your child. Pick up will take place outside of your child’s studio. Please be mindful to arrive to class on time, and to have your child use the washroom before class commences - we cannot monitor children in the washroom.
Please keep us informed if there are any changes in caregivers or class dismissals and drop offs.
*Make-up Classes
There are no authorized make-up classes except in cases of illness, due to the limit of students per class. Only three make-ups per class per year are permitted. Please email a school administrator to make arrangements. Make-up classes may be scheduled in the same or similar class levels and must be done through the school administrator in advance.
*Code of Conduct
Leap Studios strives to create a safe and nurturing learning environment for all students. Please contact a school administrator with any questions or concerns about policies detailed below. Leap Studios reserves the right to dismiss any students or parents who breach our studio’s code of conduct.
Please direct all questions or concerns to Leap Studios’ administration. School families are not permitted to contact school faculty via phone, email or social media. Failing to observe this policy may result in dismissal from the studio with no refund.
Students or caregivers showing disrespectful behaviors towards other students, caregivers, faculty or staff will be contacted to schedule a formal meeting and dismissal from the program may be considered. Any students dismissed from the program are not eligible for any refund.
Physical, mental, emotional, or cyber bullying by students, caregivers, parents, faculty or staff will not be tolerated and may result in dismissal from the studio. Any reports of bullying will be met with a meeting with administration and may result in dismissal. Any students dismissed from the program are not eligible for any refund.
Leap Studios faculty and administration reserve the right to recommend an alternative class for a dancer based on their dance level, experience, or other behavioral or classroom needs.

**OTHER FEES:
Tuition, Registration, Performer, and Membership fees do not include dancewear, footwear, recital costumes, accessories, props, recital tickets, exam fees, exam wear, competition entry fees, competition rehearsal fees, nor competition costumes. These are all extra costs to the students if applicable.
**CREDIT CARDS:
All payments via credit card (we accept VISA and MasterCard) are subject to a 3% of transaction amount credit card convenience surcharge.
Registration is accepted on a first-come first-served basis. The number of dancers per class is limited.
**MINIMUM ENROLMENT
A minimum enrollment of 6 is required. If low enrollment occurs, the class schedule is subject to change. Final draft of the schedule will be confirmed September 4, 2024.
Class sizes are limited based on age, ability, and the teacher(s) providing instruction. Once a student is registered in the class, the spot becomes unavailable to others. The commitment you are making by accepting enrolment means that you understand your obligation to fulfill installment payments until the balance is cleared, even if your child does not attend their class(es) for any reason other than noted below.
**INSTALLMENT PAYMENT PLANS:
Beyond the 50% payment plan offered for between September - December, we can help clients around a "Buy Now Pay Later" BNPL financing option to pay over more months. These are third-party plans that carry their own financing costs.
Any payments declined or rejected for any reason, will be charged a $25.00 processing fee and must be honored within 7 days. Students who have outstanding accounts will not be allowed to attend class until the family account is in good standing. If defaulted payments are not settled within 7 days, we reserve the right to revoke the payment plan entirely and request the balance in full immediately. Any balance that remains outstanding for longer than 90 days will be deemed bad debt and we reserve the right to permanently revoke your access to services and take collections action.
**COSTUME POLICY:
The company makes all costume purchasing decisions for dancers representing our studio, whether that is a costume purchased for and sold to the client, or the decision to have the client purchase their own costume directly from a supplier/retailer. The Studio Director and/or the Artistic Director must approve all costumes worn by participants representing the company at any event in every circumstance. Costumes are non-refundable and often not replaceable - it is the client's responsibility to take care of the costume and to procure and pay the expense of any alterations or repairs that the company deems necessary for performance and presentation quality.
**STUDIO CALENDAR AND ATTENDANCE POLICY:
The studio calendar is published in the registration portal, on our website, and provided via email and through our communication portals; dates are subject to change at any time, though it is rare. The company reserves the right to reschedule a class when a class has 6 or less students registered. The full-season term consists of a minimum of 32 classes. All tuition fees are payable regardless of attendance, this includes missed classes for illness, vacation, extended leaves of absence, etc. If a class is canceled by the studio, it may be rescheduled, or a make-up class may be offered. The company expects that the client will make every effort to attend classes and rehearsals. Absences due to illness are excused. Performance Program participants who miss more than 2 classes or rehearsals in a row of their specialized program may be required to take a private lesson with their instructor(s) to catch up. Absences are expected to be reported by the parent/guardian using the Absence Report protocol that will be emailed to families prior to the start of the season and linked in DSP for ease.
**COMMUNICATION POLICY:
The company provides communication to the client via email, the Dance Studio Pro (Bulletin) platform, and the BAND app. All are included as part of your Membership. Clients are responsible for staying on top of studio communications, and to ask any questions of the company via email sent to help@leapstudiosdance.com.
