ATTENDANCE:
Regular attendance is vital to student progress and
group choreography. Please make every effort to attend each class. If
a student misses more than 2 of the final 8 classes before recital, they
may be dismissed from participating in the recital routine at the
discretion of the teacher.
DRESS CODE:
Each level has an assigned class color. This helps
instructors to quickly identify their students, allows teachers to assess
how well the students are implementing the technique being taught,
and for GDA staff to direct students and serve parents more effectively.
All Dancers should be covered from shoulders down to at least under
the knee, or longer.
-For cooler days, dancers can wear a solid color black, gray, or white
tight fitting tank top, long sleeved dance wrap, or long sleeved sweater
wrap over their leotard. Our little Dancers can wear long sleeved tshirts,
turtlenecks, etc. under their leotards as well.
-T-shirts, loose fitting tank tops, sweatshirts, jeggings, joggers, etc. are
not allowed under any circumstance
-Dancers that do not have appropriate dancewear attire will be asked
to sit out of class. A text or phone call will be made to the parent to
inform them. Parents can bring dancewear to the studio and the
Dancer can take class once changed. Or, Dancers can leave with the
parent and come prepared the following class/week.
-Dancers are allowed to wear thin socks with shoes. Thick athletic
sock stretch shoes out and cause sloppiness, shifting, and potential
injury and are not allowed.
HAIR:
Dancer hair should be pulled back off their face and neck in a
ponytail or bun. No loose strands of hair are allowed. Hair must be
tight and secure. If time is consistently wasted waiting on students to
fix/pull hair back, GDA will implement a policy studio wide that all
student wear a bun.

at Christmas time, and at the end of the season.

to the learning environment, and some students choose to be
disruptive. Understandably, it isn’t fair to their classmates striving to
learn, or their paying parents, that the instructors’ attention is
continually averted despite accommodations and incentives. If a
student consistently demonstrates that they are either not ready for
the unique learning environment of dance class, OR continues to
choose to be disruptive or disrespectful, GDA will unenroll them for the
season and no refunds
