2024-2025 Policies & Procedures
Assumption of Risk:
I, the minor(s)'s parent or legal guardian, understand the nature of the activities my child(ren) will be involved in at Dance Connection and Tumbling by Michelle, and the minor(s)’s experience and capabilities, and believe the minor(s) to be qualified, in good health, and in proper physical condition to participate in such activities.
Release of Liability:
I hereby release, discharge, covenant not to sue, and agree to indemnify and save and hold harmless each of the releases from all liability claims, demands, losses, or damages on the minor's account caused or alleged to be caused, in whole or in part by the negligence of the "releases" or otherwise, including negligent rescue operations. I further agree that if, despite this release, I, the minor, or anyone on the minor's behalf makes a claim against any of the releasees named above, I will indemnify, save, and hold harmless each of the releasees from any litigation expenses, attorney fees, loss, liability, damage, or any cost that may occur as a result of any such claim. Parents, legal guardians of minors, students and adult students waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained on studio property resulting from normal dance activity or any other activity conducted by the student before, during or after class time.
Tuition & Payment Policies:
At the Time of Registration:
A months tuition is due at registration and is non-refundable. Next tuition due September 1st.
One-Time Registration / Recital Fee is $50 for the first student, $25 per additional family member thereafter and is non-refundable. This fee INCLUDES a digital copy of all three recitals- which is easily a $50 value itself. Payment is required with completed registration form to reserve class space, and is not considered complete, nor class space reserved, until these requirements are met. This fee covers administration costs, costume shipping and handling costs, and any other "extras" that might come up throughout the year to help educate the students.
Regular tuition rates begin in August at registration (covers a month of tuition) and each month after is due by the 1st of each month. Next tuition will begin September 1st. Tuition is based on the academic year (August-April) and divided into monthly payments for your convenience, which are posted on the 20th of each month. Tuition is evenly distributed over the season and no months are prorated. ONCE PAID, ALL FEES INCLUDING REGISTRATION, TUITION, MATERIALS, COSTUMES, TICKETS, ETC. ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. No exceptions.
Competition students your bill is divided into monthly payments over a course of OCT-April
As the legal parent or guardian, I am responsible for payment of fees for all services rendered by Dance Connection and Tumbling by Michelle. If another party is assisting in payments, you are ultimately responsible for ensuring the monthly payment by the due date.
Please list child(ren)’s full name in the memo of each check.
Payments may be made online but be aware that there are processing Fees. We are happy to take cash or check.
Tuition paid by cash or check can be paid at the reception desk or checks deposited into the locked Payment Drop Box when the office is closed. Tuition must be current for students to participate in class or any studio performances, including the recital.
Multi-Class Discounts:
Each additional class students enroll in will receive an 8% discount per class (Elite combo classes are excluded)
Families with 2 students enrolled will receive a 10% discount on all dance/tumbling wear, including DC apparel and shoes. Must ask for discount
There are no discounts on costumes, extra classes, conventions or events
Any discount eligibility MUST be mentioned at time of purchase for this discount to be applied
Multi-Student discounts cannot be combined with other offers
Refunds and Fees:
No tuition refunds or credits are given for missed classes due to illness, absence, holidays, snow days, or withdrawls.
Three snow days have already been figured into the year and will not be made up except at the discretion of DC Staff. Any additional snow days will be made up and you will be contacted in a timely manner.
If you move or drop a class for any reason, you must submit your intentions in writing before the 1st of the month prior to the withdrawal date to avoid further tuition charges
$10 late charge will be added to all past due accounts on the 10th of the current month
Returned checks incur a $35 fee
Medical Emergencies:In the event of an accident or emergency, if I or any emergency contacts provided are not able to be reached, I hereby authorize my child to be transported to a hospital for medical treatment by a Dance Connection and Tumbling by Michelle instructor or staff member 18 years of age or older. I hold Dance Connection and Tumbling by Michelle and its representatives harmless in the execution of such.
Additionally, I hereby agree to individually provide for all medical expenses which may be incurred by me or my child(ren) as a result of any injury sustained while participating at or for Dance Connection by Michelle.
Studio Policies:
Please review and agree to our studio policies:
PARKING: There is parking around the entire building. Please DO NOT block the alley. NO horizontal parking In the south alley. Park diagonally facing northeast only. DO NOT LET YOUR CHILD PLAY IN THE PARKING AREAS. Children are not to be left outside without supervision or leave the building without an adult. Please advise your child of this policy.
Send your student(s) to the studio prepared for class and dressed per student dress code with correct shoes.
WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO DISMISS ANY STUDENT FROM CLASS WHOSE ATTITUDES ARE UNSATISFACTORY. AT DC, WE PROMOTE ALL STUDENTS TO TREAT EACH OTHER WITH RESPECT, POSITIVITY, SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGEMENT. All students and parents should set a positive example for others to follow by being respectful and courteous to everyone including other students, other parents and the DC staff. All students and parents should refrain from gossiping or any form of verbal or physical confrontation. Students and parents who are unable to follow our Code of Conduct may be dismissed from our classes and the studio immediately.
Parents DO NOT STAY in the building while classes are being held, however you’re encouraged to attend Parents Viewing Weeks in the fall and to view scheduled viewing times December – April.
LOBBY: We ask all parents to remain in the main front lobby when waiting for classes to start or dismiss. All students will be taken from and brought back to main lobby for their class. Our back lobby area is for our dancers ONLY and we ask all parents to remain in the front lobby for the safety of all dancers.
QUIET & COURTEOUS behavior is expected for all parents, students and siblings while waiting in the lobby as all lobby noise is very distracting to classes in session. ABSOLUTELY NO RUNNING. Please gather your child and be prepared to leave the building after class is over.
FOOD: Snack foods similar to those provided by the studio are permitted. NO full meals allowed. Please have your children eat meals outside the studio. In special circumstances, please contact Michelle to make arrangements. WATER ONLY is allowed in the studio lobby, dressing rooms and dance studios.
Please do not leave your child unsupervised before or after classes. The studio is not responsible for providing child care between classes.
COMMUNICATION: All communication pertaining to your child’s schedule or needs must go through the studio. Please do not contact instructors directly. Questions or concerns? Please contact Michelle during the day as this will allow her to properly answer your questions and/or address any concerns you may have without interruption from classes. We do not follow the school cancellations. Weekday announcements will be made AFTER 2:00pm and weekend announcements 1 hour prior to class. All notices will be made via email, text and social media. Please be sure to keep your information updated through the Parent Portal or with the front desk.
It is the parent or adult student’s responsibility to be aware of the Dance Connection by Michelle schedule. DC will post notices on the bulletin board in the studio lobby, post to social media, as well as send home paper notices and or/emails and text messages. It’s the parent’s responsibility to regularly check the boards, notes and emails to ensure that you are properly informed. Please advise us when there is an address, email or phone change.
Dance Connection by Michelle reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher if the regularly scheduled teacher is unable to teach class. If a teacher is ill and a qualified substitute cannot be arranged, missed classes will be rescheduled.
