Family Studio Policies 2024-2025
Santa Fe Springs Dance Center maintains the following standards to create a positive experience and nurturing environment for every dancer and their family. By registering/enrolling at Santa Fe Springs Dance Center, you agree to the following:
Tuition: Tuition is due on the 1st lesson of each month and late if not paid by the 10th of the month. If tuition is not received by the 10th of the month an $20.00 late fee will be automatically charged to your account. Tuition is based on four lessons/hours per month (4-week/hours session) for our regular season. We charge full tuition for all studio calendar months and during scheduled season breaks. Tuition remains the same regardless of whether it is a 5-week month or a shortened month due to holidays.
There are no cash refunds at any time. For your convenience, SFSDC offers online payments and has a drop box at the front desk. In the case of a mandatory closure there are no refunds/credits given for classes untaken.
Registration Fee: New and returning student enrollment fee is $25.00 per year. The family enrollment fee per year is $40.00. Re-registration fees are applied when a student has not been active in class for 2 or more months and returns to the studio before the yearly registration fee is once again due. There are no refunds or credits given for registration fees.
Class Drop/Account Withdrawal: All class cancellations must be in writing prior to the 15th of the month (before the month you are dropping). This is so we have time to invite the next dancer on the waiting list to join the class for the following month. Credits are not given for classes dropped after the 10th of the drop month. A withdrawal form is available from the front office, or you email the studio directly at sfsfdancecenter@hotmail.com.
Missed Classes: Makeup lessons for regular classes are only given when class is missed due to illness and the studio is notified prior to class time. Makeup classes must be taken within one week of missed classes. There are no refunds or credits given for missed lessons by students for private, semi-private, or small group lessons. We do not offer credit or refunds for regular makeup classes that cannot be taken.
In the case of a mandatory closure there are no refunds/credits given for any lessons.
Returned and Redeposit Check Fee:
Redeposit Check Fee: $15.00 per check/per occurrence.
Returned Check Fee: $30.00 per check per occurrence. These charges will automatically be added to your account if a returned check or redeposit check occurs on your account. Anyone with two or more returned checks will be put on autopay only.
Overdue Accounts: Accounts with outstanding balances greater than 20 days will be placed on hold and students may be removed from class until balances are paid in full. Accounts with outstanding balances that fail to respond to studio communications will be closed and the student will be dropped from classes.
Recitals: SFS Dance Center holds 2 performances a year (December and June). All active students will be charged a performance fee for these two performance, unless the electronic (non-participation form) is completed before each show deadline.
Food and drinks are not allowed in any dance room. Only bottled water is allowed in the studio and dance rooms. Santa Fe Springs Dance Center is not responsible for lost or stolen items or other items left at the studio.
All Class rooms are "No Cell Phone" use by students taking class or any person oberserving class without teacher approval.
Dress Code: Students not dressed properly for class may not take class per each teacher's decision at the time of class.
Communication: SFSDC uses email/text/phone/Instagram/Facebook & our studio parent portal to communicate all studio information. Please make sure to follow us on these apps.
Dances Studio-Pro (available on Google Play or Apple Play.}
SFSDC reserves the right to take photos of your dancer and use them for studio postings on Instagram, Facebook, and other media outlets. This would apply to the student of the month, special incentives, class videos or group photos, recital photos, recital videos, Christmas photos and videos, showgroup or competition photos, copyright purposes, illustration, and web content.
Dancers need to arrive ready for dance and in their proper dance attire. Please review our dress code. If dancers arrive later than 20 minutes to class, teachers may ask them to sit and observe due to possible injuries. Hair must be in a neat and clean ponytail or ballet bun.
Please, do not bring your child to class if they have an illness of any kind, fever, cough, or have been exposed to Covid in the last 3 days.
These policies apply to all family members that are enrolled in classes at SFSDC. These policies will continue with the family account until at which time the family withdraws all students from the studio and classes.
Studio Liability Waiver:
I declare under penalty of perjury under the laws of the State of California that I am the parent or legal guardian of said minor. I further declare that I shall indemnify and hold harmless Santa Fe Springs Dance Center/Showcase Studio, Inc. from and against all claims resulting from, incident to, or arising out of minor’s participation in the event/class and all risks assumed by the minor and me and/or the breach of any promises, covenants, and/or representations made by me herein and/or in the above release. I fully understand that participation in Santa Fe Springs Dance Center/Showcase Studio, Inc. (hereinafter "event/class") exposes the possible risk of personal injury, illnesses & or any viruses, including Covid-19. I hereby acknowledge that I am voluntarily enrolling/participating in this event/class and agree to assume any and all such risks.
Tumbling Class and Tumble Trak: Parent/Legal Guardians/Participants recognize, understand, and acknowledge: (i) the risks and dangers of injury that may occur while engaging in Tumbling and participating on the Tumble Track at Santa Fe Springs Dance Center. The participant understands that they voluntarily engage in activities with adequate prior knowledge of such risks and dangers which can occur during tumbling class/tumble trak and hereby agrees to accept all inherent risks of all personal injury (whether temporary, permanent, total, or partial) or other harm during all tumbling class /tumble trak activities. Participant assumes all legal and financial responsibilities for any or all injuries that may occur.
I hereby release, discharge, and agree not to charge Santa Fe Springs Dance Center/Showcase Studio, Inc. for any injury, damage, illness, disease, demise, harm, or loss of personal property arising out of, or in connection with, my/minor child’s participation in the event/class/tumbling/tumble trak from whatever cause, including any negligence of any person or any other participants in the event/class/tumbling/tumble trak. In consideration for being permitted to participate in the event/class/tumbling/tumble trak, I hereby agree, for myself, my children, my heirs, administrators, executors and assigns, that I shall indemnify and hold harmless Santa Fe Springs Dance Center/Showcase Studio, Inc. from any and all claims, demands actions or suits arising out of or in connection with my/minor child’s participation in the event/class/tumbling/tumble trak and will not at any time hold SFSDC, its employees, independent contractors, volunteers, directors, owners, officials, suppliers, and agents, as well as owners and lessors of premises, responsible for any or all injuries that may occur on these premises or while in event/class/tumbling/tumble trak.
I HAVE CAREFULLY READ THIS RELEASE, HOLD HARMLESS AND FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS CONTENTS. I AM AWARE THAT IT IS A FULL RELEASE OF ALL LIABILITY AND SIGN /AGREE/AND CHECKED ON MY OWN FREE WILL.
