The Tate Academy Policy & Procedures Handbook 2024-2025
The Tate Academy is a dance studio designed for students who are highly passionate for dancing. We strive to create a family-like atmosphere with respect between students, faculty and parents. We want to steer every parent in the right direction when you bring your child to Tate. Which is why all of our policies are put into place to ensure that all of our students and families enjoy a safe, organized, and comfortable experience while taking classes.
New Safety Procedures/Drop Off/Pick-Up
Do not come to class if you, your child or any household member has ANY of the following symptoms: Fever 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher, fatigue, dry cough, difficulty breathing, sore throat, chills, loss of taste or smell, or muscle aches(not associated to working out or dance)
If you or your child has been around someone who is very sick, please join us on zoom until a week has passed
Arrive 10 mins prior to class for NEW CHECK IN PROCEDURES (Temp. Check with a no-touch digital thermometer, sanitizing, & putting outside shoes in shoe rack) & Please do not leave until we have cleared their temperature
Unfortunately our lobby is restricted to minimize traffic within the studio.
Dancers of 5 years old and above, parents are to remain outside until class is over
Please refrain from hanging around the front Studio A door, if your child is in that particular studio
The waiting room/lobby will be only open to parents or guardians of children 4 and under. Only 1 parent/guardian may await for those dancers(no siblings who are NOT in a dance class may hang out)
Please arrive ON-TIME to pick up your dancer because of flow of traffic we want to limit the number of dancers waiting for their ride.
I have read and agree with the SAFETY/DROP OFF/PICK UP procedures stated above (Initial)
Classroom/Studio Etiquette
We have found that each dancer achieving their own goals is what makes a happy dancer. Comparing themselves to others, being critical or making negative comparisons fosters an unhealthy atmosphere. We want our dancers to work hard; focus on themselves; and be satisfied with their progress, regardless of what others may achieve. We also want them to work together, support one another, and be happy for each other's success! Rudeness will not be tolerated so we have that you and your dancer ALWAYS BE KIND!
In the unlikely event of an uncomfortable situation or misunderstanding, please COMMUNICATE all concerns to the front desk or director for speedy and effective resolutions.
If wanting to speak with a teacher, you must schedule a time either 15 mins before their 1st class or after their last class.
THERE IS A NO TOLERANCE POLICY FOR BULLYING AT TATE!!!! This includes Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram, and all other forms of social media and individual/group chats.
I have read and agree with the Classroom/Studio Etiquette procedures stated above (Initial)
Classes/Schedule/Absences
Please note that all classes require 5 dancers in them to remain active. If any class is cancelled we will give you a list of several other options that hopefully work with your schedule.
I have read and agree with the Class/Schedule/Absences procedures stated above (Initial)

When Registering 2 months tuition must be paid + $50 Registration fee.
Tuition is based on the year. (Example: Your dancer is signed up for 2 hours 15 mins of class per week, their Tuition for the year would be $1,720. If you decide to pay monthly we break that into 10 payments for you which would = $172 a month. (It is not based on the number of weeks in the month)
If Paying in Full a 10% discount is applied
Paying for 1/2 the year a 5% discount is applied (the next 1/2 would be owed Feb. 1 of 2025)
There is no prorating of classes...if a dancer misses classes the only option is Make-ups.
There are NO REFUNDS after the first class of each installment period
If for any reason your child decides to drop mid year the balance of your tuition(see example above) will need to be paid. This includes should there be a spike in COVID-19 cases and we are forced to continue all classes online, tuition will remain the same.
I understand that there will be no refunds or credits of any kind. This includes termination of a students registration (which classes they are taking) due to conduct or violations of this contract.
