To enrol at our studio the student along with their parent/guardian must read and agree to our terms + conditions, expectations, behaviours, policies and procedures outlined below!
We, the dancers, parents and staff of Starz in Stage Talent Academy are a vibrant community of people who have a high regard for each other, the art of dance and show respect in the work we do. All who participate in classes are requested to uphold the values and ethics of our studio by following the guidelines stated below. As an expression of our love of dance, our love to learn, our love to perform, we will always show respect to the parents, students, and staff of Starz on Stage and all of the wider dance community, including our competition. As dancers & athletes we consider it a privilege to participate in a community for the performing art of dance exemplifying the values of integrity, character, leadership, responsibility and professionalism.
Students/Parents/Guardians
Lifestyle: We are a smoke free environment so please don’t smoke in or around the property. Lead by example & have a healthy lifestyle!
Contact: All information must be updated if it changes. This includes your email address and mobile phone numbers. Ensure all student details are correct on dance studio-pro, including 2 emergency contacts, special/medical needs etc. Please also advise staff of any court & child custody orders.
Attendance: Regular attendance is necessary to attain full understanding and progression in classes. Punctual and consistent attendance is excepted of all Starz on Stage Talent Academy students in order to maintain our high performance standard. If unable to attend class, please text 0421507920 OR email: info@starzonstage.com.au well in advance to commencement of class. N.B Poor attendance may result in removal from routines at concert time.
Lessons: Students need to practice to improve their skills especially when competitions or shows are approaching. Also consistent practice is required at home each week to achieve and maintain flexibility.
Drop off & Pick up: Please note that students are to arrive on time as well as be collected at the completion of their class. If you are running late, especially to collect your child a FB message is required. If teachers are waiting at the studio beyond the conclusion of classes a $15.00 per 15mins fee will be charged to parents to cover the cost of teachers wages. The studio closes at 8.15pm each evening. We ask you respect the needs of our employees by being on time.
Personal safety: All students must remain inside the studio until they are collected by their parents or a responsible adult. This is for the safety of all students and must be adhered to.
Personal Property: Students are responsible for their own property. Starz on Stage will not be responsible for lost or stolen items.
Student lounge: It's important parents are aware that students use the students lounge without direct adult supervision. Staff are busy teaching/working & can not supervise children or help with making dinners & use of the kitchen facilities. Students are welcome to bring an ipod/ipad to use whilst waiting in the student lounge. All bags & items must be in the cubes provided. (Bags on the floor cause a trip hazard!)
Grooming: Hair must always be neat, slick ballet bun. Pony-tails, plaits, braids will not be accepted in 2024
Spray away fly aways - students with messy hair adapt a habit of constantly playing with their hair & this habit will continue on stage while they are performing.
Uniform: Starz on Stage Talent Academy uniform must be worn in if full entirety at all times, and must be worn to every lesson accompanied by the relevant footwear. No jewellery is to be worn in class at all. Small ear studs are allowed.
Shoes: Dance shoes should be correctly fitted and clean at all times. Correct foot wear must be worn in each class (i.e Tap shoes for tap, hip hop shoes for hip hop, ballet shoes for ballet etc)
Food: Unless there is an allocated break in students timetable, food is not to be brought into the studio. Under no circumstances is food to be taken in to dance studios. The designated area to consume food is in the student lounge only. Students must clean up after themselves, including washing up dishes + cutlery, rubbish in the bin & food scraps picked up off the floor.
Water: Every student must bring to class their own water bottle clearly marked with the student’s name. Juice, frozen drinks, fizzy drink, cordial etc is not permitted at the studio.
Videoing: Unauthorised videoing or photography of a student’s class is not permitted. There is NO personal video or photography permitted at our Showcase & Concert. (professional videoing provided)
Photos: At out Photoshoot parents must only take photos when standing in front of the SOS light.. This is to ensure you do not take a photo when a student is chaining in the back ground!
Intellectual Property: All routines choreographed by Starz on Stage Talent Academy teachers are the property of the studio. Students forfeit ALL of their solo/group routines if they do not continue lessons at SOS. Unauthorised use of such may result in official action being taken.
Illness: World health organisation recommends children avoid contact for 48hours after infectious illness (i.e vomiting / diarrhoea)
Conflict: Students enrolled at SOS are not permitted to dance or do any form of dancing genre at another studio. THIS INCLUDES BALLET, ACRO, TUMBLING. (one off workshops at other studios/gyms are permitted)
Viewing: Parents are not permitted to watch classes unless a prior arrangement has been made with the principal.
Fees Policy:
There are two options to pay fees: UPFRONT IN FULL or PAYMENT SCHEDULE
Fees can be paid up front and in full by week 2 of the term. If you choose to pay upfront, fees must be paid by week 2 of the term or your child / children will not be able to participate in class.
If fees are not paid upfront or prior to the commencement of the term, you must arrange a weekly/fortnightly payment schedule. All payment schedules must be discussed with the principal and approved before the commencement of the term. Your child will not be able to participate in class if you have not arranged a schedule and made one payment before week 2. If you miss a payment you must notify the principal immediately, failure to adhere to your schedule will result in late fees & your child will not be able to participate in class.
Payments can be made by direct debit, stripe, paypal or at reception by EFT. No cash payments are accepted.
Overdue accounts will be charged an additional $15 per month per invoice.
If parents have difficulty paying fees, please email info@starzonstage.com.au or hand a note to reception to discuss financial arrangements prior to due payments.
No refund or credit is given for missed classes (In the case of an extreme medical conditions considered, a credit may be offered IF parents email requesting & it has been approved by the principal)
By enrolling in term 3 2024, you therefore agree to pay ALL costume fees. If you cease your enrolments any time during term 3 you will still be required to pay ALL costume fees. If your child pulls out of the concert in term 4 a $50 re-blocking/re-spacing fee will be charged. By signing this waiver you agree to pay the re-spacing/ re-blocking fee.
If you choose to cease your enrolment at Starz on Stage in 2024, parents must notify the principal via email, or fees will be continue to be charged.
There are no refunds for concert & costume fees
There are no refunds on term fees
There are no refunds on private dance fees
There are no refunds on registration/music/license fees
There are no refunds on uniforms
There are no refunds on ticket purchase, this includes disco, concert, showcase, formal etc
Students Behaviour:
All mobile phones must remain in students bags at all times & be switched to silent whilst in class.
Please do not use spray deodorants inside the studio. Please only bring roll on deodorant. Some students are allergic to sprays which can cause breathing problems
Bullying is not tolerated. Students are to be kind & respectful towards their fellow students, teachers & the principal.
Students need to remember they are a role model for other students and show leadership by setting an example through their actions and speech. They need to embrace the dance family rules.
All students need to take responsibility for adhering to the rules of our studio. To bring up concerns with the appropriate person and be willing to receive direction and coaching as appropriate.
All students need to represent a high level of integrity and avoid gossip, criticism or discouraging comments about fellow students, teachers, others involved in our studio or the wider dance community.
Tardiness. If late to class, please use correct etiquette, quietly apologise and then wait for instructions for warming up.
Dance Room Etiquette: We want to keep our studio as clean as possible. Please remember to always pick up after yourself. There is absolutely NO chewing gum, food or drink (other than bottled water) in the dance studios. All dance bags need to be placed in the cubes.
Students must only bring healthy food to the studio. Lollies, chips, chocolate, sugary snacks etc are not permitted.
Good Manners: Please do not speak while you are being given instructions. Be polite and speak in turn. Students, please remember the teacher is there to make you the best dancer you can be, so listen carefully to corrections and try to apply them enthusiastically. Do not criticise others as it is the teacher’s job to identify and make corrections.
Classroom entry: Students & parents should not enter the room whilst a class is in progress unless invited.
Be committed to giving 100% at all times.
Query & Complaint Procedure
If your query/complaint about your child is lengthy or of a private nature please arrange to make an appointment with Miss Alisha. Requests can be made in writing to reception or by emailing info@starzonstage.com.au, or phoning the studio. Please advise if you need a specific teacher at the meeting. Appointments will be no longer then 30mins or a fee will be charged.
All complaints and queries will be dealt with promptly, seriously and with sensitivity and remain confidential.
In the event students &/or parents do not adhere to the policies outlined above, their enrolment at Starz on Stage will be cancelled.
