BOZEMAN DANCE ACADEMY (BDA) POLICIES (ALSO POSTED ONLINE AND IN THE STUDIO
MISSION STATEMENT):
First and foremost BDA is to be a dancer's home away from home where they receive high quality training, constructive feedback, discipline, support and encouragement. They are to be compared only to themselves and their personal best; encouraged to set goals and guided to reach them. They are to learn responsibility, personal accountability and self reflection. They will be challenged to work hard and participate at 100% effort in all classes, performances and studio organized events. Negative commentary toward dancers, peers or instructors is unacceptable. Respect for the Instructors, students, parents and all studio spaces and property are expected at all times. Instructors and Students shall uphold the values of Bozeman Dance Academy and be a positive representative not only in the studio but around the community as well.
TUITION:
BDA accepts cash, check or online payments; Credit card payments will incur a 2.75% convenience fee . Monthly tuition payments will be due on the first of each month. Late payment will result in a $20 late fee after the 14th. Student will not be admitted to class if tuition is not current.
If a student chooses to discontinue their schedule of classes, BDA must be notified via email (bozemandanceacademy@gmail.com) 30 DAYS PRIOR to the first class of any month. I am responsible for payment whether or not my student attends classes once notice is given. Any unused tuition amount is forfeited. In the case of long-term illness or serious injury a 30 day notice will not be required. A physician’s note must be submitted to the studio for such consideration.
BDA will not prorate monthly tuition. Students adding mid-month may either pay the trial rate of $20 per class or schedule a make-up class(es).

MAKE-UP CLASSES:
It is your responsibility to attend the class you are registered. Please email the studio if your child is unable to attend his or her scheduled class.
Refunds are not given for missed classes, however as a courtesy, students may schedule a make-up class with an excused absence. Make up classes should not become excessive as this complicates the dynamic of both the regular class and the class a student is using for make-up so make-up classes may not become a regular occurrence.
SPRING RECITAL:
All BDA students are required to participate in the Spring Recital date to be announced (usually the last weekend in May/first weekend in June) unless prior arrangements have been made. RECITAL PLANS SUBJECT TO CHANGE BASED ON VENUE, COMPLICATIONS ETC.
A costume/recital fee per class of $95 is due no later December 15th, 2022 to offset the cost of costumes and show rentals, backdrops, props, logistics, tech that are necessary. Payments received after January 1, 2022 will be subject to a $10 late charge.
ADULT DANCERS wishing to participate in the Spring Recital will be charged a $30 non refundable participation fee. Adult dancers will work with instructor to create a costume to be provided or purchased by performer.
Our minimal ticket fee is used to offset auditorium rental and production fees.
Students will be able to keep their costumes. Tickets for Spring Recital will go on sale in May. All tuition must be paid up to date or BDA has the right to use recital fee as last month tuition and hold costume. Dress Rehearsals for spring recital will take place the week prior to recital. All students will be required to stay the entire duration of the recital. Parents may not pickup students after their child’s performance or during Intermission.
SCHEDULING & CANCELLATIONS:
Classes/Instructors are subject to change. Classes may be cancelled or combined at studio’s discretion. Should BDA have to cancel a class due to unforeseen circumstances ie: Rehearsals, weather, etc. you may arrange to make-up the class.
PLACEMENT:
Each student is evaluated and placed into a level at the discretion of the Director & Faculty. Teacher recommendations for class placement are based on the student’s attitude, attendance, understanding and application of technique and physical ability. Teachers may request new students take a “test” class prior to placing for registration. Advancement is based on teacher recommendations only after the student masters his or her current level. We take great care in considering each and every student for placement in a level which is compatible with his or her current ability and encourages them in progress. Inappropriate placement in an advanced level may result in injury and hinders the progress of classmates. We appreciate your understanding of this policy which permits us to give your child the individual attention her or she deserves. Students who disagree with their level placement are asked to trust the judgment of the Academy Director and faculty. All students, regardless of level, are taught by highly experienced faculty, who strive to bring out the best in each of his or her students in each class.
HEALTH & WELLNESS:
All students who have any health problems or injuries are asked to notify the office and their instructors. BDA promotes good nutrition for all our students, any student who needs help in this area may consult with their instructors and the Director.
