MV Academy – Signing up – Autumn Term 2023

We are delighted that you are joining MV Academy! Please find information below that should help you along your sign-up journey and getting started with us.

If you need any help along the way, please pop us an email to info@mvacademy.co.uk

Classes by Audition/Invitation

Several classes are by invitation or audition only. These classes should be clearly marked for you. Please only sign your child up to these classes if they’ve been invited. If unsure, please email us before booking.

Age Groups

If you book your child into a class that is not suitable for their current age, you will be unenrolled and refunded. We cannot guarantee there will still be space for your child in the correct age group. Age guidelines exist to ensure that everyone in a class has a good experience at a suitable level - please check them carefully when signing up and email us at info@mvacademy.co.uk if you’re unsure.

Tuition at MV Academy

Our tuition works on a sliding scale, the more classes you do the lower the rate per class. All fees are payable termly. We do ask for a half terms notice if you do not wish to continue to the next term. This helps us manage class sizes and the expectations of students on the waiting list.

Tuition Fees

• One class per week £12.00 each
• Two classes per week £11.50 each
• Three classes per week £11 each
• Four classes per week £10.50 each
• Five classes per week £10.00 each
• Six classes per week £9.50 each
• Seven classes per week. Unlimited rate – if you qualify for this let us know and we will explain how it works.

There is a 2.75% card convenience fee added to all transactions.

A sibling discount of 10% is added at the checkout. Prices are inclusive of VAT.

There is also a one time registration fee when you first join MV.

Uniform

Full uniform – our full uniform (which we encourage students to wear) is custom made for us and allows teachers to correct your child’s placement more efficiently. Our full kit is available by emailing dansez - their email is lovedansez@dans-ez.com - just tell them you are from MV Academy and they will set an account up for you!

You can buy a white MV t-shirt from our website; https://www.mvacademy.co.uk/product-page/mv-summer-t-shirts-and-hoodies
Which is often needed for showcases/shows and can also be worn to class.

Performances

Ticket sales alone do not cover the cost involved in allowing our students to perform in professional venues, please be aware of the following costs when your child is involved in a production. These may change depending on the specific production, but these guidelines should give you a good idea of what to expect.

Musical Productions

Production classes (full length musicals) will involve a show fee to cover microphone hire, costume purchase or hire, chaperones at the theatre and extra theatre rehearsals. Please budget for £60 to cover the above due one month before the production.

Teachers
MV provides an outstanding level of teaching, we have many teachers who work professionally in the dance industry and for this reason we may have a cover teacher in at any time for any class. All MV teachers have DBS check and qualifications in their area of specialism. We cannot guarantee a particular teacher for any class during any term as our teachers are self-employed.

Dance Shows

If your child chooses to participate in our Dance Show there will be a costume to purchase or hire per class they take part in (usually between £25-£35) and either a parent will need to supervise them backstage or pay a chaperone fee for professional licensed chaperone (usually £15-20 per day) and a rehearsal fee for our theatre rehearsals (usually £10-15 per day)

Showcases/Concerts

All students require an MV T-shirt for showcases (our more informal performances) and concerts.

Optional Extras

From time to time we offer trips to see West End Shows, parents can choose to sign their student up for these trips and the ticket price will be given out in advance of sign up.
Holidays camps and workshops are offered in most breaks. These must be booked separately to your weekly classes but we do often offer discounts to existing students and early bird offers for those who book well in advance.
