Introduction
It is our absolute pleasure to warmly welcome you into our Industry Studios Family.
We have created this handbook to keep you updated with our policies and procedures, terms & conditions and on how things will run throughout the year, as well as hopefully answering questions you may have before the year’s classes commence.
We would love for you to take the time to read this information carefully and keep your handbook in a safe place to refer to as needed throughout the year, and please also be sure to bookmark our website: www.industrydancestudios.com.au and follow us on Facebook and Instagram @industrywarragul for regular updates and news. We also have a private Facebook group, please search Industry Studios Family and request to join as we post important studio information in this group.

Industry Studios are igniting the spark of creativity through expression, community & excellence.
It is important to us at Industry Studios that all members of our team share our vision, our purpose and the philosophy that encompasses everything we do both in and outside of our classes. This is a vision that is shared and demonstrated by the Artistic Director, the teachers and staff members at our studio and it is the driving force behind every interaction with our students and their families.

Industry Studios was established in 2018 by Artistic Director, Kristy Monk, who has been instrumental in cultivating the dance culture in Warragul in the previous 12 years, and who wanted to create a space where she could continue to support and mentor the growth of her students and offer new classes to the community.
Industry Studios is proud to offer classes to all ages and skill levels in Ballet (SFD method), Lyrical, Contemporary, Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, Musical Theatre, Adult Dance, Acrobatics, Performing Arts, Aerial, Drama & Singing and a magical pre-school program.
Whether you are looking to pursue a career in dance and the performing arts or wish to just dance for the pure enjoyment and physical benefits - we have a class to suit you. Our youngest student is 2 years old and our eldest is in their 60’s!
The team at Industry Studios knows what it takes to be industry ready, especially growing up in a small town and taking your talents to the big city and to the world! Our Artistic Director, Kristy, has worked hard to cultivate a strong dance culture within the community and is excited to continue to share her knowledge, expertise and passion for dance and performance.
Industry Studios is located at 27 Masterson Court, Warragul with an incredible studio space and ample parking. Parents and guests are welcome to observe classes through the viewing area, or simply relax in the lounge while you wait.
Registration
Before commencing tuition with Industry Studios, it is important that all students and parents complete registration in Dance Studio Pro, read our Terms & Conditions and agree so we can ensure we have the most up-to-date contact details for you. This information will include your registration form and a media release form (so we can publish photos and videos of our amazing dancers in and around the Studios and on our social media pages)
To book your classes, please head to our website www.industrydancestudios.com.au click the book now button, once in Dance Studio Pro, register your details, book, add your child to their classes and make payment through the online booking system.
If you are unsure of your log in details, please email us admin@industrydancestudios.com.au to have them emailed to you.
We encourage all of our students and families to try a variety of dance styles and we are more than happy to accommodate trial classes for existing students who are wanting to try something a bit different. Please contact us on 5644 3404, email admin@industrydancestudios.com.au or book a trial class through Dance Studio Pro. If you would like to try a new class, we will happily fit you in for a trial, provided the class has not reached capacity. Please note we do not offer free trial classes. If you trial a class and decide it is not for you then you will not be charged for the class. If you enrol into any Industry Studios classes after your trial, that class fee will be added to the term fees.
Term fees
* Term fees are payable before each term begins. If you wish to make payments across the term you must opt in to our Auto payment option in Dance Studio Pro then email us with the preferred day and frequency of payments to be taken (weekly, fortnightly or monthly). We do not accept direct credit as a payment option. You may also make payment at our front desk but this must be done before your first class of each term.
Your First Class
When you arrive for your first class, please see our friendly reception staff. They will take you through to your class and introduce you to your teacher. If the desk is unattended, please wait and someone will be with you soon.
Uniform
At Industry, we do not require a uniform to be worn by students. We encourage students to wear what they are comfortable in and what suits their individual style. We do though require the following in our classes;
Appropriate footwear in our Jazz, Tap and Ballet classes. Eg: Ballet shoes, Tap shoes and Jazz shoes.
Leotard, Ballet skirt, ballet tights and hair pulled back into a bun in our Ballet classes. Any colour leotard and skirt are acceptable.
ALL dancewear, tights, shoes etc can be ordered from the studio. Please see our friendly front desk staff to place your order. Please allow 3-5 business days for orders to arrive.
Hair pulled back off the face in all of our classes is required.
Tighter fitting clothing is required in our Aerial classes and full length pants are required.
Bare feet or ballet shoes are recommended for our 2-3yo classes, fairy dresses are welcome but if your little one is more comfortable in leggings and a t shirt that is not a problem at all.
Code of Conduct
To ensure the smooth, safe running of Industry Studios, and an enjoyable experience by all, each student must agree to adhere to our code of conduct. As always, we are open to feedback, so if any of the requirements outlined below are unclear or concerning, please give us a call to discuss. Following a formal meeting, Industry Studios reserves the right to take disciplinary action or dismiss any students or parents who breach the following rules.
Families who do not comply with their fee, private lesson or concert fees or costume hire payment obligations will be charged a late fee, and/or have external debt collection occur when fees remain overdue, this will be at the expense of the client. Costume expenses are the responsibility of the parent/student, and costumes will not be issued if there are unpaid/outstanding fees. In extreme cases a child may not be able to attend their classes until outstanding fees are paid.
We offer an auto payment option and payments can be set up to be deducted from a nominated account or credit card weekly, fortnightly or monthly across the term. If you wish to arrange a payment arrangement, you will need to opt into our Auto payment option in Dance Studio Pro then email us at admin@industrydancestudios.com.au with the frequency and day for payments to be taken before the term begins. We no longer accept bank transfer as a form of payment.
No classes (including private lessons) are to be disturbed unless it is an emergency. All messages, food or drink deliveries, or medication being dropped off, must be passed on through the Industry Studios staff member at Reception.
We do not take responsibility for our students before or after their scheduled classes, it is the responsibility of parents to ensure their child is dropped off and picked up on time. In the case of an emergency or unavoidable delay, please contact the studio immediately so we can keep your child safe until you arrive.
In the rare case of a parent or student showing disrespect or defamation to any teacher, staff member, fellow student or parent, a meeting will be called immediately. Physical, emotional or cyber bullying by any parent, student or staff member will not be tolerated and if the behaviour is to continue, will result in dismissal from Industry Studios.
Industry Studios takes no responsibility for stolen or misplaced property on studio premises, and we encourage our families to avoid bringing valuables into the studio whenever possible.
Only private lesson students are permitted to enter solo competitions and eisteddfods, and it must be with permission from our Director.
Industry Studios Management reserves the right to change teachers, timetabling, cancel classes or join classes together and/or move students into more suitable classes when necessary, at any time throughout the year.
Choreography, costuming and internal communications remain the intellectual property of Industry Studios and may not be used, reproduced or sold by any students, parents or staff without the permission of the Artistic Director.
Communication
It is our promise to respond to all enquiries within 48-hours and we will never leave a query unanswered. Our friendly Industry Studios staff can be contacted on 5644 3404 between 9:00am – 6:30pm Tuesday to Thursday or admin@industrydancestudios.com.au
For convenience, our primary means of communication is via email at admin@industrydancestudios.com.au You will receive regular updates and important information via email so please ensure you have provided the studio with an up-to-date email address and mobile number that is regularly checked. We are, of course, happy to include multiple email addresses per family if you would like your correspondence sent to more than one recipient.

In the infrequent case of communicating urgent information (for example, unexpected class cancellations or performance changes), we will send an SMS, email or post in our private Facebook page (Industry Studios Family). For this reason, please make sure the mobile phone number and email address you have provided to the studio is correct and up to date.
Facebook is a great way for us to keep in touch with many people at once, so we encourage all families to join our Industry Studios Facebook group. You can find us by searching ‘Industry Studios Warragul’ or use our @industrywarragul tag. This group will be monitored to ensure all content is appropriate and relevant. Please request to join our private Facebook page by searching ‘Industry Studios Family’.
We will always display important information, dates and studio news on our noticeboards around the studio, so please have a quick look when dropping off and picking up your child in case there is anything you may have missed.
Please not that if you unsubscribe from our emails, you will not receive any emails from us and some very important information can be missed. If you wish to resubscribe you will have to do this through your Dance studio Pro account as we cannot reinstate this for you.

Safety of Students
With the safety of our families a number one priority, Industry Studios is very serious about upholding Child Protection Laws and policies within the studio as well as at public performances and in the online arena (our website and social media channels).
As part of your registration, you will have read and been given the option to sign a media waiver allowing us to proudly use images and video footage of your student for marketing and promotional purposes. Should you have any concerns whatsoever with signing this declaration, please see our reception staff who will happily assist you.
We have a viewing area to one of the studios and will offer parent viewing sessions for select classes so that you can check in with your child’s progress. More information will be provided to each class throughout the term, and we do enforce a zero-noise policy when viewing any of classes in our studios. Parents may wait for their child in the comfort of our waiting area. All of our teachers and staff members have undergone official checks allowing them to work with children, and these certifications may be presented upon request.
The Artistic Director, teachers and staff at Industry Studios are educated in the negative impact of inappropriate music and costume selection when it comes to performing dance routines and are wholeheartedly committed to ensuring children in all our classes are not subjected to any inappropriate songs or costuming. We recognise that songs with sexist, explicit, violent, racist, homophobic or criminal content may influence our dancers and/or audience and we will strive to identify and avoid using such music. We are committed to restricting costumes that project sexuality deemed inappropriate for our younger age groups.
Our staff members have been trained in first aid.

Please read this document carefully before your commencement of classes so you fully understand the rights and responsibilities of your family and our studio. When you enrol at Industry Studios, you are adhering to everything outlined in this document.
Privacy Policy
When you purchase or hire a product or service with Industry Studios, the information we may collect from you includes your name, address, telephone number(s), email address, medical information and, in some cases, credit card or bank details. It may also include the details of the products and services we provide to you as well as the status of your enrolment. We only collect information directly from our students or their parent/guardians primarily for the purpose of providing services and products to you and to administer and manage invoicing and debt collection.
We may occasionally use your information to promote information and services to you which we consider may be of interest unless you contact us and tell us not to do so.
We will never sell or pass on any of your information to any third parties unless required by government authorities or in the event of debt recovery. Any information passed on will be done so with appropriate privacy and confidentiality protection.
Information is stored securely in paper or electronic form and is accessible only by authorised personnel only. Industry Studios reserves the right to change, cancel or join classes together where needed and to move students into more a appropriate class level where required.

Refund policy
No refunds will be given for change of mind or changes in circumstances. Once enrolled in a class/classes, all term fees are payable in full, regardless of attendance or changes to class structures (including auto payments). A credit may be applied in extreme circumstances. If injured and a medical certificate is provided, we will be happy to provide a refund for the length of the recovery outlined in the certificate/letter from doctor or health professional. If a class is cancelled, a credit will be applied to your account. We will not add a credit to accounts due to sickness, family holidays, school camps, parent choice, school concert/concerts or covid isolation.
Late payments/Failed auto payments
• A late fee of $30 will be added to all unpaid accounts after the first week of each term and every month after until the outstanding amount is paid.
• A failed payment fee of $8 will be added to accounts when an auto payment fails. If an auto payment fails 3 times, the autopay will be cancelled and the full amount outstanding will be payable.
Money back guarantee
Our Money back guarantee period is 14 days from your first class.
If you are unhappy with your experience, you can request a refund (this request is subject to approval) Reasons why you wish to obtain a refund and feedback in writing must be emailed to hello@industrydancestudios.com.au
We are a studio that values feedback and wish to evolve and grow through such feedback and we may be able to help with the situation once it is bought to our attention. A refund will then be the decision of our director should your request meet our criteria and be successful. You will receive 80% of fees paid when exercising our money back guarantee, once approved.
Workshops/Classes outside of Industry Studios
All workshops and classes outside of Industry Studios can only be attended with the approval from our Director. Please see list below of workshops/classes that DO NOT require permission to attend.

Industry Studios will continue to bring in the best in the Industry to run workshops for our students throughout the year.
Waiver Injury/Illness
Industry Studios offer only quality and safe training for our students. You must let us know prior to taking ANY classes with us if you have or have ever had any injury, illness or anything that may arise or that could result in further injury or illness while in the care of Industry Studios. Industry Studios will not be liable for any underlying or previous conditions or injuries that were not disclosed when registering with us.
Parent Information – Parking, Dropping Off and Picking Up
When coming to the studio it is important to know where to park, drop off and pick up. There is strictly no parking in the driveway. If you arrive at the studio early to pick up, please park your car in one of our car parks or in the court. You are more than welcome to come inside and wait for your child in our reception if you do not want them walking outside by themselves. All students are to wait inside the studio after their classes so a parent can come in and collect them.
For any student under the age of 7, we ask that an adult stay with them while they are at in the studio. Our reception area is a comfortable place to sit and wait for your child to finish class. If your child is over the age of 7, you are welcome to stay and however it is not required.
