Studio Philosophy & Policies Danaille’s Dance Academy offers classes to establish well educated, well-rounded dancers. We believe mastering the basics of dance on each foundation to be an essential part in creating students that live up to their full potential. Incorporating dance techniques from the roots of their existence, to the fresh, up-and-coming styles popular today, is something we are proud and excited to share. Dance is more than perfect feet and spot-on technique; it’s about letting go of your troubles and losing yourself in an art form. Diverse dancers are standout dancers; and we never want our students to blend in!
Danaille’s Dance Academy Policies 2024-2025
• Parents will be allowed to watch dance classes on specific observation days. On specified days the T.V. cameras will be turned on to view in the waiting area and/or parents will be invited into the class. There are some days in which they are turned on in addition to scheduled observation days & upon request. Parents are not allowed to turn cameras on/switch T.V. settings-This must be done by a staff member. A staff member then will notify the instructor so that the door is left open (so you are able to hear what is going on inside the class-the TV monitor does not have sound). This is to avoid any misinterpretation of what is going on in class-which could easily happen without sound.
• Tuition, registration fees, competition fees & costume fees are non-refundable. If you pay tuition in full, and decide to drop, tuition is still non-refundable.
• All proper clothing/shoes must be worn to the appropriate class. If a student comes to class without the required materials, the instructor has the right to not allow them to dance.
• When your child/children are in the lobby they need to be watched at all times. Siblings may not be left unattended. If a child is disrupting the lobby on a regular occurrence, they will be given a warning. After one warning you will be asked to leave the studio.
• If your child is not going to make it to class, you must call or email the dance studio prior to their class. After 2 unexcused absences (any missed class the instructor is not notified) the student will be removed from the class.
• Late tuition will receive a $25 fee. After this an additional $25/week late fee will be added to your account. Late fees will not be reversed.
• Dropping mid- season (unless a health-related issue) will result in a $100 rechoreography fee per routine your dancer is in.
• Non-payment or excessively late payments, including: tuition, costumes, apparel or any merchandise will result in the dismissal of the dancer with a delinquent account. After 2 weeks of ANY payment being late, a child will not be able to participate until their bill is paid. Unpaid balances after 2 months, will be sent to collections.
• If a family member (student or parent) is caught slandering the studio name in any way or becomes disrespectful to any staff member or teacher, they will be asked to leave the studio. There is a 0% tolerance for any bullying, bad-mouthing or anything of the sort.
• If your family is split, does not get along (parents) any and all issues must be left out of the dance studio. We are not responsible to relay information to more than one parent UNLESS notified upon registration. We are only authorized to give information to the parent or guardian that signed a child up. We are only authorized to give receipts/back dated information to the person(s) who signed the child up. Please be sure to have all parents on the account so they receive all needed information. IF this is not done, we will need consent from the parent that registered-to give out any information.
• There is zero tolerance for disrespect (parents or students) and or bullying. Acting in such a way could result in being removed from the studio.
• Poor or negative behavior of a student of parent could result in being asked to leave the studio.
• If you drop/quit a class after October 1st, 2022, you are still responsible for paying the costume fee(s). All costumes are property of the studio until after the recital (recreational classes) or nationals (Competitive classes).
• Merchandise taken from the store MUST be paid for prior to it leaving the studio. Not doing so is theft. Anyone that takes merchandise without paying for it will be removed from the studio.
• Students must be on time for class. If a dancer is late (especially if it becomes a habit, the teacher has the right to ask them to leave. If child is more than 5 minutes late for class they will not be allowed to participate (unless approved prior to class). THIS IS AN UPDATE AND WILL BE ENFORCED 9/2022
• You are responsible for your children (dancers) until 5 min. prior to their registered class and 5 min. following their class.
• Recitals (Christmas/Spring) are mandatory unless prior notice is given at the time of signing up.
• Classes (any and all) 2 weeks prior to a performance (recital) are MANDIOTRY.
• Dress rehearsal is Mandatory. Anyone who does not show up for dress rehearsal will not be able to perform in the show.
• Late pickup is not accepted. If a child is left without pickup (10 min. and up after their class has concluded), a $1 per min charge will be added to your account.
• If you need to speak with a teacher, or staff member privately, you must email a request and schedule a time. There must be a minimum of 2 staff members in the building during a parent meeting. Any/all private conversation requests alone and not planned, will be shut down by the staff member. This is for our safety. If it is of urgency, please email the studio and we will get back to you within 24 hours.
• As much as we love to talk to each parent individually about their child’s progress, between classes does not always work. Please understand we likely have back-to-back classes, and pulling us aside, makes us late for the following class. If you have a question or concern, or want to know how your child is doing, please send an email and we would be happy to give you an update.
• Please understand some students take more classes, and are in the studio daily while others once per week. We do not play favorites; however, a dancer who dances 10+ hours per week will probably be showcased on our website, Facebook page etc. more often than a dancer taking one 45 min per week class.
• Please know all bullet points have a reasoning, as in we have had issues in the past. Some may seem silly, but please remember everything is listed for a reason.
• All communication with the instructor outside of class must be done via email or phone call to the studio phone only. DO NOT USE the instructors personal Facebook as means of communication for dance matters. Please refrain from using instructor’s personal phone number to address dance related matters as well. Please respect instructor’s personal time.
I have read and fully understand the above policies. I agree to abide by all rules/policies of Danaille’s Dance Academy.
