CHILD PROTECTION & SAFEGUARDING - Updated Aug 2020

With the safety of our families a number one priority, KJ’s DANCE & CHEER is very serious about upholding Child Protection laws and policies within the school as well as at public performances and in the online arena (website and social media).

As you’ll be aware from your initial enrolment, your child may be photographed or recorded in class and that the media may appear online via our social media and web pages. In addition to this, we sometimes proudly use images and video footage of our students for advertising and promotional purposes—although we will never publish names or personal details online. All platforms are actively monitored. Should you have any concerns about this, please email us at kelly.kjdc@icloud.com and we will happily assist you.

Our teachers (resident or temporary) have undergone official checks allowing them to work with children and are safeguarding and first aid trained.

The principal at KJ’s DANCE & CHEER is educated in the negative impact of inappropriate music and costume selection when it comes to performing dance routines and is wholeheartedly committed to
ensuring children in all of our dance routines are not subjected to any inappropriate songs or costuming.
We recognise that songs with sexist, explicit, violent, racist, homophobic or criminal content may influence our dancers and/or audience and will strive to avoid using such music.  We are
committed to restricting costumes that project sexuality and contain explicit graphic or textual content.

KJ’s Dance & Cheer aim to provide efficient, up-to-date, enjoyable and safe
instruction in dance, cheerleading & gymnastics to all students who enrol in the school or join in the classes or activities.
