ENROLMENT TERMS & CONDITIONS / CODE OF CONDUCT - Updated Aug 2020

To ensure the smooth, safe running of KJ’s DANCE & CHEER and an enjoyable experience by all, below you will find our code of conduct and class terms and conditions.

PUNCTUALITY: All students are expected to arrive at class on time; give 100% effort at all times and wear the corect kit. If a Student arrives late and misses the warm up then they will not be able to participate during that class. Warm Ups are a Health and Safety requirement within dance, cheerleading and gymnastics.
We are unable to take responsibility for our students before or after their scheduled classes and it is the responsibility of the parent to ensure that their child is picked up and dropped off on time. In the case of an emergency or unavoidable delay, please contact the school immediately to inform us of the situation so we can keep your child calm and safe until they can be collected. You can text message directly on 07308743634 or email kelly.kjdc@icloud.com.

BEHAVIOUR: We have a 3 strike rule policy in place regarding the behaviour of both children and adults at KJ’s Dance & Cheer. This includes towards each other and towards staff.
Poor behaviour and foul language will not be tolerated.
Bullying will result in instant dismissal from the school.
If you are concerned about behaviour or bullying your first point of contact is Kelly, you can email directly at: kelly.kjdc@icloud.com

UNIFORM: Uniform is compulsory at class and consists of the KJ’s Dance & Cheer T-shirt, black bottoms or shorts and appropriate footwear. It is required that every student has a uniform after 4 weeks of attending classes. Uniforms bring us together as a team and are to be worn for class practice and at all offsite events and performances. Performance Bows for exam days and events are also available.
Uniform T-shirts & Bows can be ordered from our Online Store in Dance Studio Pro.

PAYMENT: ALL class fees are paid monthly and due on or before the first class of the month. We pay for our class place each month as opposed to each individual class, therefore payment is due even if you don’t attend one week. No refunds or credits are given for missed classes. You can however always make up missed classes with a make up session and attend any other timetabled class (within age and ability) the following week.
All fees are worked out pro rota and spread evenly over a 12month period. Fees are inclusive of 46 weeks of classes in any 12 month period and include teacher time and student participation on show days, exam days, event days and presentation evening.

**Additional Show Rehearsals, Show Spectator Tickets, Show Costumes,
Show Photos & DVD’s, Presentation Evening Spectator Tickets, Competition Entry Fees and Exam Fees ARE NOT INCLUDED and will be billed as optional extras.

Class Invoices auto-generate on the 28th of the month for the month ahead. Payments received on or after the 15th of the month will be charged a late fee of £5. Late fees also apply to missed pay deadlines for exam & assessment entries and show costumes. Non payment of classes will result in un-enrolment from the school. External debt collection will occur when fees remain overdue for a period of 45 days or more and this will be at the expense of the client.
Show costume, events and uniform expenses are the responsibility of the parent, and tickets, uniform and costumes will not be issued to students with unpaid class fees.

ATTENDANCE: Students are expected to attend classes weekly and maintain a good attendance record as this will help them to achieve their best. If a student cannot attend a class due to illness or other good reason then please let us know. If a student misses four (4) or more consecutive weeks of classes they will be flagged on the system, we appreciate that sometimes there are reasons why your child can’t attend class for a while but please note that non-attendance accompanied by non-payment will result in the student being un-enrolled from the school system.
We do not hold or reserve class places that are not paid for.

EXAMS: There is a yearly IDTA exam session and all students will be put
forward and entered for the exams that they are ready for. Exams are a great
way for students to recognise their achievements and see the results of all
their hard work. Exams are optional although encouraged.

PERFORMANCE TEAM COMMITMENTS: Students are expected to attend and participate in
organised events such as festivals, shows, performance opportunities, fundraising days etc as much as possible. We are a TEAM and that means that we all work hard and participate together. If a student cannot attend an organised event then please notify at the earliest opportunity, failure to attend team commitments could eventually result in a student being removed from the team.
