COVID-19 Policy - Updated Aug 2020
Before Attending Classes at KJ's Dance & Cheer, You must ensure that you and/or your child are fit and well, with no symptoms of COVID-19 and no recent contact with anyone that has recently tested positive.
Due to COVID-19 and in order to help keep everyone safe, there are some changes to how classes will run over the coming months:
Majority of classes are drop off and pick up only (you may wait in the car). We have to limit who we allow in the halls and have to abide by social distancing guidelines and limited capacity.
> Children under 4 yrs of age require one parent/adult present to assist with toilet duty.
> Children with additional needs require one parent/adult present to assist with class participation.
> Children attending for the very first time may have one parent/adult present - but only if necessary.
All Parents/Adults remaining at class must wear a face mask and abide by social distancing guidelines.
Please arrive for classes no more than 5minutes early and DO NOT enter the building upon arrival. Wait in your car or line up along the building wall outside, keeping a 2m distance until a teacher opens the main door and welcomes students inside.
We are operating a one way system and will have group one exit out of the back door before letting group two enter via the main front door.
We ask you to arrive promptly for pick up. Students will exit from the back fire door. Please meet us at the back of the hall to collect your child.
Small breaks have been allocated between classes to allow time for exits and cleaning any equipment or touched surfaces. Please do not enter before being granted permission.
All students will enter through the main door and wash or sanitise their hands upon entry before stepping inside the hall. If you or your child are sensitive to some hand sanitisers - please bring your own. We will also sanitise hands at the end of each class.
Do not bring any unnecessary items to class. A coat, a drink (maybe a snack) and a change of shoes (for Ballet & Tap) should be all that is needed. All items must be kept in a bag at the side of the hall.
Our kitchen area is closed so please consider that when coming to class.
Upon entering the hall, students will be allocated their own safe class space. This will either be clearly marked with a large X for dance and cheerleading or with a mat for Acro & Gymnastics. Students will stay in their own safe class space for the duration of the class. We are following 2m guidelines.
For Acro/Gymnastics, it is considered safer to bring your own mat. Please do bring your own mat to class if you have one - they can be purchased cheaply from places like IKEA or Amazon. Alternatively, our mats will be available and cleaned/disinfected after every class.
Footwear will stay on at class. Please ensure your child has appropriate footwear. Jazz shoes are ideal for classes or alternatively plimsolls or pumps. Ballet & Tap shoes are required for Ballet & Tap classes.
Class content will be adjusted for the time being and there will be no partner work, no group work, no lifts, no stunting and no hands on spotting unless absolutely necessary for safety.
Use of equipment & props will be limited in class to minimise shared touch points. .
Tots Dance & Tumble Class and Inclusive Dance for Additional Needs will require a prop bag that the student will keep and you'll need to bring to class every week. These will be available on the first week of class. Props are not to be shared.
Students will be allowed to the toilet one student at a time and the area's touch points will be cleaned after each class.
Main doors will be operated by a teacher only. All other doors within the village halls will be propped open to minimise touch points and aid ventilation.
The back fire door and windows can be, and will be opened if necessary for extra ventilation.
Registers will be taken electronically as students enter and exit the building and will act as track and trace.

Uniform, Merchandise and Class Resources can be ordered and purchased via our Online Shop on Dance Studio Pro.
Payments are to be made via bank transfer, standing order, card payment - via our SumUp link or online via Dance Studio Pro. Payment information will be emailed out each month.
In the event of a class/hall closure due to COVID19 or related situation. Classes will temporarily be held online via Zoom as they were during the initial Covid19 pandemic.
All trial classes must be pre-booked through our system for track and trace. We are no longer allowing walk ins.
