Fees
Fees are payable by invoice and must be in advance of the start of term. (exceptions to new students).
All fees will be invoiced a minimum of two weeks prior to commencement of each term.
Fees are non-refundable unless classes are cancelled by the studio. However catch-up classes will be offered in these circumstances.
Any overdue fees will be charged a 10% late fee seven days after the due date shown on the invoice.
Origin will generally be shut on Public Holidays however this can vary. Your term invoice will reflect the correct amount of classes and you will be notified whether or not classes will be running on each Public Holiday or not prior to the beginning the the term.
Exam fees are additional to term fees and are also non-refundable unless a medical certificate is available. We are able to get a 50% refund with a medical certificate on most exam entry fees.
There will be a 10% late payment penalty for any overdue accounts.
Any cost incurred in the collection of outstanding accounts will be added. This will also include any phone calls or postal charges involved in the recovery of the outstanding debt. The collection fees will equate to 25% of the outstanding debt.
Uniform
Uniform is compulsory for all students at every class by the time they have completed their first term.
Hair must be tied back and secured off the face. All ballet pupils require a classical ballet bun, all pupils need long hair pinned up for classes.
No jewellery is to be worn at class including watches and Fitbits.
Health & Safety, Injury & Medical
Origin Studios is not liable for personal injury(s) sustained nor loss or damage of personal property whilst on the premises.
Origin Studios will aim to provide a safe learning environment to reduce the risk of injury. All students, parents/guardians must recognise that dance by its very nature carries a risk of injury and/ or accident.
It is the student or parent/guardian's responsibility to notify their teacher in the event of any medical condition and/or any injury that is being treated or may cause concern prior to class.
A first aid kit is available. We do not distribute Panadol or equivalent nor administer students medication.
Class Conduct
No food, chewing/bubble gum is to be brought into the studio.
Students are expected to listen and to show respect to both their teacher and fellow students both during the outside of the class whilst on the premises. We reserve the right to remove or stop participation of any disruptive student(s).
Parents/guardian's, please respect students and teachers and refrain from chatting while lessons are in progress. This is very disruptive and you will be asked to leave.
Origin staff are not responsible or students outside their allocated class time.
Classes & Exams
Origin students are not permitted to be enrolled at any other dance school while enrolled with us. Any pupil attending classes elsewhere will be immediately dismissed.
Regular class attendance is vital for students to stay on top of their syllabus work. If any student misses more than 3 classes consecutively without a valid explanation will risk not being entered for their annual examinations.
Students must be punctual to all classes to ensure they receive a complete warm-up.
All syllabus classes will be taught with the intention that the students will sit exams during the year.
Students will be entered into exams at the discretion of their teacher.
Students entering exams will be required to attend a coaching week and a mock exam prior to sitting the exam. This is additional to exam fees and will be invoiced separately at the appropriate time.
End of Year Production & Showcases
Participation in end of year production and showcases is not compulsory.
All participating students must attend rehearsals, dress-rehearsals and all performances.
There will be no additional fee to participate in the mid-year showcase. Only an admission charge for audience members will apply.
A performance fee of $30 per student will be invoiced with the costume fees for the end of year production.
Privacy Act
All personal information collected will be subject to the Privacy Act 1993, and will be stored by Origin Studios.
Dismissal & Acceptance
Origin Studios has the right to accept or dismiss students at the discretion of the Principal.
