Hi all,
Please read below for the latest information which applies to our studio.
Update from 27 January 2022 | COVID-19 Vaccination Policy
As of January 31, 2022, our studio will fall under the mandatory requirement of proof of vaccination for entry and participation at our studio.
Should this affect your enrolment moving forward please feel free to contact us to discuss.
Who will the proof of vaccination apply to?
All participating dancers aged 16 years & over.
All parents/guardians entering the building at any time including parent participation classes.
All staff members, visitors, and venue hirers aged 16 years & over.
How proof is collected:
Preferred method: proof of vaccination emailed through to obrien_irishdancing@hotmail.com prior to first class or first entry into the studio. This is preferred as it will save a lot of precious class time for us having to check proof of vaccination in person.
If you do not want to email your proof of vaccination it must be sighted before entry to the studio. Please contact us in advance if you would feel more comfortable with this method so that one of us can meet you on entry.
We will record that your proof of vaccination has been sighted so you will only have to provide it once. This information will be kept private.
A list of accepted proof of vaccination mediums as per the WA government website are listed at the end of this notice.
What if I am a parent who is not vaccinated or do not wish to show proof?
Kiss & drop is preferred option for drop off/pick up for all parents.
Vaccinated and unvaccinated parents can both continue to use this option.
Dancers are welcome to wait in the foyer before and after class.
In short, a parents' vaccination status will not impact on participation for students under 16 years of age if they are able to enter the studio independently.
How can you help us with proof checks?
If you have a different person entering the studio for drop off or pick up just notify us in advance so we can be prepared to make the necessary checks of a new person.
Acceptable proof of vaccination as per WA government:
Acceptable proof of vaccination includes:
The ServiceWA app, the WA government’s free, convenient and secure mobile application to show proof of your COVID-19 vaccinations
You COVID-19 digital certificate from MyGov or the Express Plus Medicare mobile app
Your certificate stored in a smartphone wallet
A hard copy of your certificate
A digital or hard copy of your immunisation history statement
Vaccination certificates that are accepted by the Australian government for travel into Australia will also be accepted at businesses and venues in WA
An additional form of supporting identification is needed if the proof of vaccination is not stored in:
The ServiceWA app
Express Plus Medicare app
If you are unable to receive a COVID-19 vaccine for a medical reason, a doctor will update your record on the Australian Immunisation Register to show that you have a medical exemption.
You can then show proof of your medical exemption when entering a business or venue.
Please note that masks are also required to be worn to enter the studio by anyone aged 12 and over. Dancers will be able to remove their masks at the commencement of the class.
