2024 STUDENT POLICY HANDBOOK

Epic Dance Academy offers dance lessons in ballet, pointe, musical theater, contemporary, lyrical, tap, jazz, hip hop, Acro, tumbling, special needs and more for
ages 2.5 through adult. Our primary goal is to create a positive, fun learning environment while providing students with quality dance instruction. These policies set
forth are for the safety and well-being of all our dancers and instructors. For any questions regarding these policies, please contact the office for assistance.
General Rules:
* Dancers are to remain in the waiting area until their class begins. No entry into the studios until the teacher is in the room.
* Dancers should be polite and respectful to the staff and other students at all times.
* No food or drink should be taken into the dance studios (other than water).
* No chewing gum or candy should be taken/eaten in the dance studios or warm up area.
* No cell phones or smart watches are to be in the dance studios.
* Dancers should place their name inside all shoes, accessories and dance bags.
* Dancers must be present and on time to all classes.
* Dancers and all family members should maintain a quiet noise level.
* All family members must be respectful of EPIC staff, facilities, patrons, and equipment.
* All children (including non-dancing siblings) must be accompanied by a Parent or Guardian in the
waiting area and parking lot.
Levels:
Preschool = age 2.5-5 Level 1 = age 5-7 Level 2 = age 8-12 Level 3 = age 13-18 Adult = 18+
Registration Fees: Registration fees are fees collected upon enrollment to ensure your child’s place in the class, and also to help cover administrative fees, studio
handouts, mailings, etc. Registration fees are $25 per student or $40 per family (siblings only).
Tuition: Summer is two months tuition fees. Each class will meet a total of 8 times. Tuition may be paid by check ($30 fee on all returned checks), cash,
credit card, and auto pay (comes out the first Monday of the month). Tuition is due on or before the 7th day of the month. A $10 late fee will be posted to the
accounts of those who pay after the 7th day of the month. Please be sure that your tuition is paid by the 7th of the month, regardless of what day your child’s
class falls on. Checks received after the 7th of the month, but backdated prior to the 7th, will still incur the $10 late fee. Every account must have a credit card on
file that will be charged the 8th of every month.
If your child is unable to attend class during the tuition week or if the office is closed on the 7th of the month, you may place your check (secured in a sealed
envelope) in our mail slot, at the teacher entrance (opposite side of where you come in) and it will be applied the following business day.
Summer Show and Tell: On the last day of class students will be showing off the skills they have learned in Studio A for parents to watch.
Studio Holiday Schedule: Below is the 2024 holiday schedule. Please keep in mind that regardless of a holiday, tuition is still due by the 7th day of the month.
Epic Dance Academy will be closed the following dates:
Nationals: June 10th-14th July 4th
Studio Closure: Always check your emails, call the studio, check fb page or studio website to determine whether classes will take place or not due to inclement
weather.
Sibling Discount: Students who are in the same immediate family and household are eligible for a sibling discount. The discount is $5.00 off the total tuition for
each additional sibling.
Multiple Class Discount: Students who are enrolled in more than one class are eligible for a multiple class discount.This excludes dance team classes and
private lesson times. The monthly tuition is $59 The second class will drop to $54 /month per class.
Class Withdraws: The staff at Epic Dance Academy understands that issues arise that may force a student to withdraw from his/her class(es). If a student
chooses to withdraw from a class, the dance academy requires a written notice submitted at least two weeks prior to the anticipated last day of class. If a written
notice is not received, the account will continue to be billed until a written notice is received.
Epic Dance Academy reserves the right to withdraw a child from the program in the event that:
* The student exhibits behavior that is unsafe to themselves, other students or staff members.
* The child continuously fails to follow directions from an instructor or staff member.
* Student account balances are not paid, or falling more than one month behind in tuition payments.
* A parent or family member creates an uncomfortable or upsetting situation for others.
* A parent who refuses to cooperate with the rules/guidelines set forth by Epic Dance Academy.
Refunds: Sorry, but refunds will not be given for monthly tuition payments or missed classes. Students who must miss their regularly scheduled class may
make up with another class similar to the missed class provided there is another class available.All fees paid to Epic Dance Academy are non-refundable.
Class Enrollment: Classes are subject to be combined if classes do not meet minimum student enrollment.
Insurance: All students are required to be covered by their own health insurance, and if any injury occurs, it is understood that the student and their family are
responsible for any medical costs. All parents must sign a release form in order for their child to participate in dance classes. Students dance/participate at their
own risk.

Attendance: Students must maintain good attendance in their classes, as absence and tardiness can hold back an entire class. If a student must be absent,
please notify the studio prior to missing the class. No refunds or prorate will be given for missed classes. Ask the front desk aout how to make up a class.
Picking Students Up: All dancers must be picked up on time. We understand that certain circumstances may delay your arrival, so please call the studio office in
the event that you will be late picking your dancer up. Those who continually pick up late will be asked to make other arrangements regarding the transportation of
their dancer to/from class. The pick up door is the same as the drop off door. This is for the safety of the students.
**** PLEASE NOTE: All dancers in the preschool and elementary classes MUST be accompanied by an adult for the duration of their classes. Parents of
preschool/elementary level dancers are not permitted to drop their children off - this is for their safety! If an emergency situation arises where you must
leave while your child is in class, please notify the desk staff of your intentions. ****
*** Young students must be able to go into the classroom without their parents. Parents are always welcome to observe the class through our TV’s.***
Special Events: These events are optional. If a dancer chooses to take part in an extra event they will have additional fees for things such as costumes, shoes,
props, venue & tickets for example..
Photos & Videos of students: By signing the attached form, you give full rights to Epic Dance Academy and it’s staff to use photo or video images of you or your
child for promotional purposes of the studio only.
Dress Requirements: Dress requirements are necessary for the best dance education, and are strictly enforced in the classroom. Students without proper dance
attire and shoes will not be permitted to participate in class that day. Please refer to the following dress guidelines:
* All students must have their hair secured tightly away from the face and long hair must be up.
* Students may wear any color leotard/dance attire and any color tights. Epic has these items for purchase
* Dance pants, dance skirts, or dance shorts may be worn over a leotard.
* Competition team members must wear black dance attire for all classes with the exception of the 1st full week of each month (color week).
* Ballet classes need to be in a leotard & tights, pink leather ballet shoes with elastic strap & hair in a bun or pony. Epic has these items for purchase
* Hip Hop classes may wear leggings, tank tops, leos, sweatpants, comfy clothes to move in. Have specific dance/tennis shoe for class only.
* Ask staff for other dance shoes required.
Behavior: Students are always expected to behave in class and obey the teachers at all times. If a student becomes uncooperative or disruptive, he/she may be
removed from class immediately. Good behavior is imperative to quality dance education. Also, please understand that we will not tolerate poor or negative
attitudes from parents. Parents are expected to be polite and courteous to other students, parents, and staff members at all times.
Staying Informed: Please check your email, make it a point each week to ask your child if there were any handouts in class. Also, please be sure to check the
studio bulletin board weekly, as all newsletters/handouts will be posted to this board. If you have any questions regarding important dates, newsletters, etc., the
office staff will be happy to assist you. Please inform the office of any changes to your address, phone numbers, or email address.
Bring A Friend Days: This season the staff at Epic Dance Academy would like to give the students the opportunity to share their studio, dances, and fun with
their friends. Bring a friend days will be June 19-22, so each student will be allowed to bring a friend with them to their classes.
Release of Liability: I have enrolled the named student in a program of strenuous physical activity offered by Epic Dance Academy. I hereby affirm that the
named person(s) are in good physical condition and do not suffer from any disability which would prevent or limit participation in this dance program. I, for myself,
my heirs and assigns, hereby release, the owner(s)/director(s), their family, or employees from any claims, demands and causes of action arising from my or the
named person’s participation in any of the above stated programs, and hereby release Epic Dance Academy, the owner(s)/director(s), their family, or employees,
from any liability now or in the future including but not limited to heart attacks, muscle strain, pulls, tears, other illness, soreness or injury, however caused,
occurring before, during or after participation in any other of the above stated programs offered at Epic Dance Academy or in any activity sponsored, represented
or organized by Epic Dance Academy, the owner(s)/director(s), their family, or employees, for any reason. By signing the “Student Policy Signature Page”, I
hereby affirm that I have read & fully understand & agree with the above waiver. All items contained herein are subject to change per directors discretion.

All fees paid to Epic Dance Academy are non-refundable.
