ARTISTIC DANCE STUDIO
POLICIES
Welcome to Artistic Dance Studio! It is our objective to provide the best dance education possible to your child. In order for us to meet that goal, the following policies and guidelines are in effect. Please read carefully before signing.
DRESS CODE:
Proper dress is required for all practices and performances. Dancers are expected to dress appropriately at all times. Clothing should be modest, non-revealing and allow freedom of movement. Any graphics on tee shirts or other clothing must be family appropriate. If we see any clothing that is deemed inappropriate, offensive or profane, we will ask you to change or go home.
Ballet students are required to wear a leotard, tights, and appropriate shoes. Hair should be pulled back away from the face, preferably in a bun.
Hip hop students are required to wear sneakers and comfortable clothing. Jeans are not allowed!

TUITION:
All students are required to pay a yearly registration fee of $35. This fee is
renewable at the start of each season beginning in September.
All tuition is based on a yearly enrollment and then broken into monthly payments. The monthly payment amount always remains the same regardless of whether the month is a long month (5 weeks,) or a short month. Full tuition is due each month regardless of closings due to inclement weather or any other reason.
There are no make up classes for any reason, including missed classes due to illness, inclement weather, or holidays.

Tuition is due on the 1st of each month. We allow a grace period of 10 days. After the 10th of the month, unpaid tuition is delinquent and there will be a $10 per week late fee added to your account. If tuition goes over 8 weeks past due, you will be notified that your child is suspended from attending classes until the balance is paid. This policy will be strictly enforced in order to avoid snowballing late fees, and in fairness to all. We understand that life events sometimes happen. If you are experiencing financial hardships, please communicate with us so that we can work together to make sure your child may continue to benefit from classes uninterrupted.
*In order to ensure undivided attention to class instruction, all questions or concerns with regards to tuition payments must be addressed with Patty at the front desk.

Please make all payments at the front desk to be sure your payment is credited to your account. Accepted forms of payment: cash, personal check, credit/debit cards, (there is a 4% service fee added for credit/debit cards) and VENMO. (Venmo will not be accepted if you click on goods and services, so please do not click on that option if using VENMO) *A fee of $40 will be added for any personal checks returned for insufficient funds, after which cash or money order will be the only forms of payment accepted.
*In the event that your child is ill or injured and will be out for a long period of time, a doctor’s note will be required. If you fail to inform us, you will be responsible for all tuition regardless of attendance.

By signing this contract, you are committing to one full season of classes. (September-June) In the event that you elect to quit prior to the end of the season, you must inform us within the calendar month. Missed classes due to illness or any other personal reasons are not credited. You will be responsible for paying the full amount for tuition each month until you inform us that you have quit. There are no refunds for partial months.
CONDUCT: Respect for teachers and fellow students is expected from all dancers. We respectfully request that parents exercise good judgement and remove your child from the class if he or she is being disruptive for any reason. Parents are welcome to watch classes from the observation windows, however we do not permit anyone to enter the classrooms, as it is distracting to the other students.
Parents are expected to exemplify proper behavior at all times. We encourage you to step out of a venue if you need to reprimand your children and please refrain from profanity at all times. Any parent who does not comply with this request will be asked to leave the premises.

Please refrain from cell phone use while class is in session.
Do not bring valuables to class. ADS is not responsible for any lost or stolen property.
Please do not leave your child at the studio unattended. Children under the age of 12 should always come to class accompanied by a parent or guardian, as there will be no one available to watch your child. We ask that you do not drop your children off more than 10 minutes prior to their scheduled class time. Running, yelling, littering or any other potentially unsafe or distracting behavior in the studio will not be tolerated. Please supervise your children at all times for their safety and the safety of others.
Older children should be advised not to roam outside of the studio. We ask that they stay inside because we cannot guarantee their safety once they exit our doors.

Please make sure your children know to stay inside the studio. We are located in a heavy traffic area and it is not safe for kids to be running around outdoors.
ILLNESS:
We strive to make our studio safe for everyone. If you or your child is sick or exhibiting any symptoms of illness, please stay home. We reserve the right to ask anyone to leave if they are showing any symptoms of illness.
We provide hand sanitizer throughout the studio, please encourage your children to use it frequently!
In the event of a pandemic or any state mandated shelter in place order, we will offer online classes via Zoom. Class schedule will remain the same unless otherwise specified. By signing this contract, you are agreeing to pay the same tuition for Zoom classes as in person classes.

WHAT’S APP: We request that you download this free app. It is the method we use to communicate information with parents and students about classes, closings due to weather, and things of that nature. You will be able to reach us at any time through this app. if you have any concerns or questions.
COSTUMES:
Costumes are a part of our program. Each class will require an end of year finale tee shirt, which is approximately $30, and 1 or more costumes, depending on how many classes they take. Costume prices range from $100-$120 each and the balance for all costumes is due in December. PLEASE CONSIDER THIS PRIOR TO SIGNING UP FOR MULTIPLE CLASSES.
*Costume prices vary. We use $100 for an average cost. Once ordered, costume balance will reflect current vendor prices, so there may be an additional charge or credit to your balance.
*Anyone with a costume balance exceeding $300 must put down a deposit of 50% of the total cost by September 30

Costume balances are due to be paid in full by December 15th. For your convenience, costumes are paid in non-refundable installments of $30 per costume, the first of which is due by October 15th. The second payment will be due on
November 15th.
FINAL COSTUME BALANCE IS DUE ON DECEMBER 15TH. Please understand that due to the large number of costumes being ordered, we must place our orders with the costume vendors early in the year.
ADS will not order costumes which are not paid in full by the order date.
Costume vendors charge over $30 per costume for costumes that are ordered and shipped separately, so be sure to pay your costume balance on time to avoid paying the $30 per costume shipping/ handling fee.

Please note: Any student who quits before the end of year recital will forfeit all costumes and any payments made towards costumes. Costume payments are non-refundable, NO EXCEPTIONS. If you quit before the end of the year, you forfeit all costumes and payments, full or partial.
We use multiple vendors for recital costumes. We do our best to make sure proper measurements are taken, however, costumes will often vary in size and fit depending on what company we purchase them from. In the event that a costume does not fit or needs to be exchanged for any reason, you will be responsible for any and all shipping charges associated with the exchange of the costume. Artistic Dance Studio is not responsible for paying additional costume shipping fees for any reason.

Any student who wants to take classes but does not wish to purchase costumes may elect to be excused from participation in our recital program. We would ask that you make us aware of this by the first of the year so that we may adjust our choreography accordingly.
*Costume balances do not include accessories. Shoes, tights, costume props, and any other additional accessories will be billed separately.
*Costumes and recital participation are mandatory for all competition team students.

DanceStudio-Pro (DSP)
DanceStudio-Pro is a convenient online program where you can view your account, classes, and make payments through the parent portal. This program charges a 4% fee for online payments. You may still make payments in person at the studio. Please utilize this website to manage your account. DSP will send out emails periodically if your account requires attention. If you unsubscribe from receiving communications from DSP, you will need to make your payments in person, at the studio. Venmo or any other electronic transfer methods of payment will no longer be accepted once you have unsubscribed from DSP communications.

EVENT TICKETS:
With regards to tickets for our holiday show and end of year recital, please be aware that anyone who is seated in the auditorium must purchase a ticket. Students are not exempt from purchasing a ticket because they are dancing in the show. Due to the high cost of venue rental, everyone must purchase a ticket to each show they attend. If there are multiple shows in the same day, a ticket must be purchased for each show you plan to watch from the auditorium.
For your convenience, we will have TV monitors in the lobby so that your child’s performance may be viewed from there, should you elect not to purchase a ticket.
*This option is restricted to your child’s number only, so that the lobby does not become overcrowded. Ticket prices are subject to change based on venue rental pricing.

By signing below, you agree to all policies set forth by ARTISTIC DANCE STUDIO.
ADS reserves the right to refuse service to anyone who does not abide by the above stated policies. By signing this form. you agree to these terms and are committing to a full year of classes. In the event that you elect to quit prior to the end of the year program, or are eliminated due to non-payment of tuition, you will forfeit any and all payments previously made for costumes, tuition and any other fees and charges associated with ADS, including competition fees and choreography fees.
ALL COSTUMES AND COSTUME PAYMENTS ARE FORFEITED IF A STUDENT ELECTS TO QUIT DANCE CLASSES PRIOR TO THE END OF THE YEAR RECITAL.
