Recital + Performances

Dec 20, 2024 08:41 AM

Information about the recital regarding the date and time may be found on the studio's calendar and parents must attend the Parent Information Meetings. If I cannot attend, I know that I will be held responsible to know and keep up-to date with all of the information covered. Students must be enrolled for at least 3 months prior to a performance or a production in order to perform. This ensures that students receive proper training before being able to perform. Consistent attendance is imperative to ensure a quality show. Instructors have the right to limit choreography based on the student's class attendance. I understand that from the time recital begins, my child can only miss up to 2 rehearsals/classes in order to perform. I understand that my child must be at both mandatory in-studio rehearsals in order to perform. See calendar for details.

If my child will not be in attendance, the school must be notified immediately. 1-2 months notification before the show will not suffice. The studio will call extra rehearsals sometimes leading up to a performance if necessary. Parents will be notified. After the parent has paid for recital, the student cannot have more than 2 absences leading up to a show and must be present for the Mandatory in-studio rehearsals. No exceptions. The teacher reserves the right to not allow the student to participate due to frequent absences. No exceptions as this is a commitment. No refunds or transfers will be given from tuition, recital fees, costume fees, reception fees, nor ticket sales.

All outstanding fees including: tuition, costumes, and recital fees must be paid in full for my child to perform. There are extra performance opportunities that are scheduled throughout the year, not including those already scheduled by the school. Parents will be notified upon requests from the community. Fees must be up-to-date before a student can participate in special performances as well. If my child is selected to perform for outside events, I will make a commitment to ensure that he/she is present at all rehearsals and will dedicate to at home practices. I understand that if frequent absences occur, he/she will not be allowed to perform.

Extra performance opportunities are not a guarantee for all students, but to those who come to class consistently and dedicate time to at home practices. In addition, these outside performances are strictly up to the teacher. There will be a choreography fee of $50 charged to the account if withdrawn from the recital after the 1st rehearsal has begun. I understand that in addition to paying recital fees, I will have to sell recital tickets to invite family/friends to come and support my child.

I understand that leading up towards performances, the teacher will post videos in the GroupMe app to assist my child with at home practices. If I feel he/she needs one-on-one private lessons, I am able to contact the office to have private lessons scheduled. I understand that for recitals and performances that I must sell a certain number of tickets based upon the type of show. If it is required to sell 5, I must sell 5. If it is required to sell 10, I must sell 10. In the event that I do not sell the required number of tickets, my account will be charged for the full amount of unsold tickets, no exceptions. Selling tickets is a requirement for my child to participate in any paid event hosted by Judah School of Performing Arts.

Photo shoots are mandatory for recital participants, unless notification is given to the director and/or the asst. director at least 1 month prior to photo shoot date. Absences will incur a $30 fee. No exceptions.
