Bay Dance Collective Tuition Policy

2024-2025 School Year

Welcome to Bay Dance Collective, where we are dedicated to providing high-quality dance education and training in a nurturing environment. Below, you will find detailed information regarding our tuition rates, payment policies, and other financial considerations for our dance programs.

1. Enrollment Fees

Registration Fee: A non-refundable registration fee of $60 is required upon enrollment. The max registration fee is 3 students per family, with a total maximum of $180; meaning the registration fee for any additional students from the same family will automatically be waived. The registration fee is a one-time fee per student per calendar year, regardless of how many programs he/she registers for during the summer, fall, or spring for that year. It covers the costs of paperwork processing and computer time required to set up your student in the attendance and tuition-billing system. It also covers your dancer's insurance, music license fees, and studio communication costs—all separate expenses from class tuition.

2. Tuition Rates Our tuition is based on a semi-annually/annually payment structure. Open classes will be billed by month. Summer camp billing is by camp/intensive.

All tuition is non-refundable.

There is a Credit Card transaction fee of 3.05% + $0.30 per transaction. We recommend families set up for ACH (with a US. Bank Account) which is free of extra transaction fees.

Private class rates: $120-$150 per hour (the rate is depending on teacher), students who are not registered with Bay Dance Collective will need to add $30 extra.

Semi-Private rate: $60-$75 per hour (the rate is depending on teacher), students who are not registered with Bay Dance Collective will need to add $30 extra.

Small group 3-5 students: $50 per student per hour, only offered to students who are registered at Bay Dance Collective.

Large Group Rate 6 students or more:

Pre-Ballet division and any classes (including teams classes) with age 8 and under are $30/hour. Class size is 6-14 students.

Ballet I-IV, Competitive teams, company classes, and adult classes are $25/hour. Class size is 6-18 students.

Note: Please refer to our class schedule for a detailed breakdown of class offerings and levels.

3. Payment Policies

Payment Due Dates: Tuition is due in advance. A non-refundable late fee of $25 will be applied to payments received after due date.

Payment Methods: We accept ACH (with a US. Bank Account), credit card which you can pay through the parent portal, check, and cash. We accept Zelle (baydance.collective@gmail.com) for private class only. There is a Credit Card transaction fee of 3.05% + $0.30 per transaction.

Refund Policy: Tuition fees, registration fees, and all other fees are non-refundable.

Tuition will be pro-rated by month for students enrolling mid-year.

4. Make Up Class Policy Due to limited classroom space, we encourage students to attend all classes on time. However, we understand that students will be absent due to various circumstances. Please note there are no refunds or credits for missed classes. Bay Dance Collective will NOT pro-rate tuition for missed lessons.

TWO free make-up class is offered per student per semester.

A $5 processing fee will be charged for EACH makeup class after the initial two free make up classes.

If a student misses a makeup class or he/she forfeits the make-up class, the $5 fee cannot be refunded.

Please note that makeups are not guaranteed. Bay Dance Collective reserve the rights to cancel and reschedule your makeup class.

5. Discounts and Scholarships

Sibling Discount: For any additional child enrolled from the same family, a 10% discount will be applied to their tuition, provided the tuition for the additional child(ren) is of equal or lesser value compared to the tuition of the first child or any previously enrolled sibling. Please note: The sibling discount applies to the tuition fees of the additional child(ren) with the equal or lesser tuition value. This discount is applied automatically and is intended to make dance education more affordable for families with multiple children.

Summer Camp/Intensive Discount: For students who enroll in more than 2 camps/intensives, there is a 5% discount for the entire tuition.

Scholarships: We currently do not offer any scholarships, if you know of any scholarship donors who are willing to contribute to the dance education, please contact the office.

5. Additional Costs

Performance Fees: $100-$200 (the fee varies on location and size of the production)

Costume Purchase/Rental: $50-$150 for group costumes

Solo Costume Purchase/Rental: $100 or more

Choreography Fee: This fee only applies to competitive dancers. This cost will vary depending on the choreographer. Our in house choreographers will have a more competitive rate than guest choreographers (as we have to cover guest artists traveling and living expenses). At BDC, we highly recommend our students to work with in house choreographers.

Travel Expenses: For competitive teams or performance groups, travel expenses may apply. Details will be provided for specific events.
