Welcome
Welcome to DanzStar Studio. We are so excited to have your family join us for the 2020-2021 season. DanzStar aims to reach the youth through dance, inspiring them to overcome the obstacles and challenges of life, through love.

This handbook contains information about our classes, studio, and DanzStar expectations. All of our staff members are committed and dedicated to ensure your child gets training with a great impactful experience. We are excited and look forward to this year being monumental and life changing.

Health and Safety
We focus greatly on the health and well being of each student. Our staff has been trained on proper sanitation practices set forth by the CDC and perform them at the beginning of every shift, before and after every class and at the close of business. Hand sanitation items are located throughout the studio to ensure our loved ones have access at all times. Breathe easier knowing an air purification system is in place to add an additional level of sanitation throughout the studio.

Danzstar has a limited class size of ten dancers per class to allow for 6 foot distance between each dancer. Dancers will not be permitted to touch at any time while in the studio. Staff will also encourage frequent hand washing and provide gentle reminders to not touch the face or mask.

Facemask coverings remain an important tool in the fight against the Covid-19 virus. All dancers and staff will be required to adhere to the face mask requirement with the exception of asthmatics. Students experiencing persistent cough, shortness of breath, chills, muscle pain, sore throat and confusion or have come in contact with any individual who has tested positive for the Covid-19 virus must remain at home and may return after 14 days. In some cases a negative test result will be required before re-entry is allowed.

It is important for each dancer to look and feel their best. With this goal in mind, we ask if your child is ill for any reason to report it by email or phone, then remain at home. If you are able, join class via zoom. Dancers will need to be fever and symptom free for a full 7 days before returning to the studio.

Eating healthy and getting exercise is a great way to support your immune system. Fresh fruits and vegetables, regular and restful sleep and proper hygiene are all necessary in preventing illness.

Studio doors are open 10 minutes before each class and locked when the class starts. This is done to ensure the security of the building and well being of each student. Please arrive on time and ready to dance. Late arrivals will still be permitted into class.

Communication
Danzstar will email a monthly newsletter through email, parent portal, and Band app. For the most effective way to send your questions or concerns, please email admin@danzstar.com. We will do our best to respond to you within 24-48 hours, not including the weekend. For quick answers to questions about events and policies, please utilize the DanzStar website, Band app, Facebook, Instagram, and the front page of the Parent Portal.

DanzStar reserves the right to use all photos and videos taken at all affiliated events for promotional and advertising purposes.

Registration
Registration for new and returning members is easy through our parent portal at www.dancestudio-pro.com/online/danzstarregistration for enrollment .

Tuition
First month tuition is due at the time of registration including a registration fee of $25 per dancer and $5 for each additional dancer. Tuition will be withdrawn from your card on file or bank account on the 1st of each month from September – June. If your tuition is returned from your bank account, a $30 fee will be accessed to your account. If tuition is not paid by the 5th, you will be charged a $15 late fee. Automatic Payment is required for every dancer at the time of enrollment. If you decline the auto payment agreement, you will be responsible for 20% deposit of the yearly tuition at registration. All payments are required in order to receive your uniform apparel, before participating in class, competition, or recital.

1 hour - $60 per month/$540 per year
2 hours - $100 per month/$900 per year
3 hours - $135 per month/$1215 per year
4 hours - $170 per month/$1530 per year
5 hours - $195 per month/$1755 per year
6 hours - $215 per month/$1935 per year

Private Class - $65.00 per hour

Sibling Discount is 5% discount

**Class time have been decreased by 10 minutes to give our Staff allotted time to disinfect our studio and dance floor.**

Charges to your account
Danzstar is not responsible for any bank return fees due to failed tuition. Late fees will not be reversed unless a mistake on DanzStar Staff behalf. All merchandise transactions are subject to 6% sales tax.

Attendance
Email us admin@danzstar.com as soon as you know your child will miss class for any reason. Tuition will not be prorated for any missed class because of unavoidable circumstances. Make up class will be given if class is cancelled by the instructor.

Withdrawing Enrollment
If you withdraw yourself or your child during the season, you must notify our staff by email no later than the 15th of the month. If it is submitted after this day, you will be responsible for the following month's tuition. All withdrawal notice must be sent to admin@danzstar.com. No withdrawal in person will not be considered. Any withdrawals after January 1, 2021 will result in full tuition until June unless you have an unforeseen circumstance.

Class cancellations
Class may be cancelled by DanzStar due to inclement weather. There will be notifications provided through email and facebook. Check our facebook page, email, and our band app for accurate information. The cancelled classes will not be rescheduled unless practice is needed for a performance.

Parent Observation
Parents are not permitted to enter the studio during class hours unless invited by our staff. Observation is at the last 15 minutes of class for Pre Ballet class ONLY. Dance education requires focus so observing the students will not be permitted in the studio.

Lobby
No waiting area will not be accessible due to Covid-19. Drop off and pick up for your child will be at the door to prevent the spread of the virus. There will be no running, yelling, or disruptive communication in the reception area.

Class Expectation
Students should be ready and dressed for class. There will be no changing in the bathrooms. All dancers are to wear their hair in a bun and in the appropriate dress code when entering.

Dress Uniform
It is important for your dancer to wear their uniform according to their class dress code. Uniforms help facilitate an attitude of unity and teamwork, and for the instructor to see the technique without layers of clothes. All uniforms and accessories are located on your parent portal under the “more tab” for you to shop at your own convenience. Shoes are not included.

Please no baggy t-shirts, baggy shorts, blue jeans,spaghetti straps, flip flops, no loose/oversized jewelry or other inappropriate attire will be allowed in the studio. Hair should always be securely pulled away from the face.

Student Level Information
Our instructors reserve the right to place your child in the appropriate level for class instruction. Students ages 6 and up will be placed in levels based on their technique, maturity, flexibility, and ability, not their age. Students will be evaluated and an email will be sent to you by March 2020 to give recommendations for the following season. Students in the Pre and Level I class should expect to be in this level for at least 2 years.

Recital Fees/Information
Snow much Fun winter performance will take place the week December 7-11 during your child's class time. No costume fee is required.

Your “BIG DAY” is schedule on June 12, 2021 and will consist of social distancing for the safety of our families. Recital is a time where we gather to show you what your dancer have learned and practice all year and our staff will thank our supportive parents as well. It is a day filled with lights, camera, action, and smiles.

Your recital fee of $175 per dancer ($225 per family) is due on February 1, 2021 and each additional class costume cost is $50. A late fee of $50 will be accessed if $175 is received after February 15, 2021. Your fee includes one costume, an award, a dvd, four entry tickets, and tech fee. Photos will be purchased by parents at your own expense at Haynephotography Photo Studio to give you choices of different packages. Recital costumes will be available for pick up on March 15, 2021. Recital season is very busy and we spend hours preparing to make sure it is FABULOUS for you and your family. Recital fee and costumes are non-refundable.

Returning 2019-2020 Students: Your Recital fees and costumes will be applied to our 2020-2021 season. No additional fees will be added to your account, unless your child is enrolled in additional classes. All Recital fees and costumes are non-refundable. If you are not returning to DanzStar studio, please email admin@danzstar.com for your child’s uniform.

Codes of conduct and disciplinary procedure
● Students should arrive 10 minutes prior to their scheduled class.
● Listen actively and attentively in class, asking questions when prompted by the teacher.
● Do not correct other dancers. Please leave this action to our trained teachers. Encouragement is welcomed from all.
● Bring a positive, “can do” attitude to class. Accept feedback and show appreciation for the instruction you are receiving.
● Work hard, do your best and have fun!
● Respect one another. DanzStar does not tolerate bullying or foul speech. Such behaviour will result in immediate removal from the program.
