Agreement to Studio Policies

PLEASE do not commit to the dance year without reading. Adherence to our policies is required for continued enrollment and are applied without exception. ***YOU will also need to sign these policies in person in order to complete enrollment.

Tuition & Fees Agreement: All tuition is auto-drafted between the 1st-5th of each month from the card on file. I understand that if autodraft is decined & tuition is not received by the 10th of the month, a $15 late fee assessed and after the 15th of the month, my dancer will need to observe class until tuition & late fees are paid. If tuition & late fees remain unpaid at the 20th of the month my dancer will be withdrawn from class in order to allow space for a wait-listed dancer. Re-enrollment is $30. Costume fees are posted to accounts with January tuition and are due by Jan. 15 in order to perform. Performance Package ($100/dancer) and Costume fees are nonrefundable (for refund or credit) & nontransferable.
*Your account will be charged its balance in full between the 1st-5th of each month to include dancewear, costume fees, or any outstanding account balance at the time auto-draft runs.

Class Withdrawal Fee: I understand the Performance Track is a commitment through June and 30 day written notice is required for withdrawal from class & must be completed on a Withdrawal Form in the office. Emails, phone calls, and verbal withdrawals will not be accepted. A withdrawal fee of 1 additional month’s current tuition will be charged at time of withdrawal. Withdrawals without notice (class abandonment) will be charged tuition until withdrawal form is completed in office plus a $100 abandonment fee. Dancers withdrawing after the Withdrawal deadline (Jan. 15th) agree to pay tuition for all remaining months of the dance year. Performance & Costume fees are nonrefundable. Accounts left unpaid after 60 days will be passed to collections & may accrue attorney/collection fees. Drop in classes may be purchased in packs of 5 or 10 classes as an alternative to the performance track.

Assumption of Risk: I understand that participation in dance/fitness class, workshop, and rehearsal/performance activities has inherent risks; despite precautions, accidents and/or physical injuries may occur. These injuries might result not only from a participant’s own actions, inactions, or negligence, but from the actions, inactions, or negligence of others including other participants. In the event that I/we should observe any unsafe conduct or conditions, I/we agree to report the unsafe conduct or conditions to the Artistic Director, instructor or other staff member as soon as possible. I acknowledge that: (1) I/my child will be engaging in physical activities that may involve physical risks and I voluntarily accept those risks; (2) I/my child is physically fit, and (3) that Allonge’, including its teachers, dancers, staff members, and facilities, will not be held responsible for injuries to persons or property or medical expenses associated with my/my child’s participation on Allonge’ premises. In signing this release, I (student or parent/guardian) assume all risks related to the activity and use of any and all spaces and property used by Allonge’. In addition, I on my/my child’s behalf agree to indemnify and hold harmless Allonge’, including its teachers, dancers, staff members, and facilities from any and all damages, injury, claims, or causes of action (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) caused by me/my child to myself/herself or to any other person or property. In the event of an emergency, I give Allonge’ representatives the authority to obtain necessary emergency medical treatment on behalf of myself/my child as deemed necessary with the understanding that the family will be notified as soon as possible. I understand that my insurance coverage for myself/my child will be used in the event medical intervention is needed and that I am responsible for the payment of any/all medical services.

Class Disclosure: I understand that part of dance instruction includes correction in body placement and may require myself or my child to be touched in order to assist in making body placement corrections. I hereby authorize Allonge’s trained staff to physically assist myself or my child in order to assist in proper alignment and execution of dance technique.

1. Tuition:
a Tuition is charged by auto-draft in 10 equal monthly installments (Sept.- June) regardless of inclement weather/holiday closings. Tuition is due through June (unless dancer withdraws by Jan. 15).
b Allonge’ follows the Suffolk Public School schedule in the event of inclement weather and for major holidays. Minor holiday closures will be announced in advance.
c Tuition is processed the first week of each month and is due in full by the 10th of each month after which a $15.00 late fee will be assessed. After the 15th of the month, dancers will be asked to observe class until accounts are in good standing. After the 20th of the month, dancers will be withdrawn from class and their spot offered to a wait-listed dancer. We will email you if you auto-pay is unable to process.
d Tuition payments are non-refundable except in the event of documented illness or injury that prevents participation for at least 1 month. Injured dancers may request their accounts be placed on hold for up to 1 month with a doctor’s note. Their space in class will be held for up to 30 days, after which it will be offered to a wait-listed dancer.
e Withdrawal: 30 day notice is required for withdrawal from any class & must be completed on a Withdrawal Form in the office. Emails, phone calls, and verbal withdrawals will not be accepted. Withdrawals will be effective 30 days after receipt of withdrawal form. Tuition remains due until then. Dancers withdrawing after the withdrawal deadline (Jan. 15th) agree to pay tuition for the remaining months of the dance year. Package fees are nonrefundable.
f Class Abandonment: Withdrawals without notice will continue to accrue tuition charges until notice is given. If withdrawal is due to non-payment of tuition after the Jan. 15 withdrawal deadline, tuition charges will continue to accrue monthly. Re-enrollment requires a registration fee and may not be possible if the spot was already filled with a wait-listed dancer.
g Accounts left unpaid after 60 days will be passed to collections and continue to accrue late fees. Attorney and/or collection fees associated with collection attempts of outstanding accounts will be the account holder’s liability.
2. Performance:
a Accounts must be in good standing for dancers to participate in any rehearsal and/or performance. Additionally, dancers with outstanding performance fees after Jan. 30 will be removed from the spring performance.
b All dancers look forward to the Spring Showcase Performance! Each dancer requires a Performance Package, these fees are non-refundable/non-transferrable.
c Additional performance opportunities are available by audition.
d Performing requires consistent attendance and some mandatory rehearsals. Please review our attendance policies and rehearsal/performance schedule.
3. Attendance: (Ensemble dancers should refer to their Ensemble Agreement)
a Students who wish to participate in the annual showcase in the spring can miss no more than 6 classes between January-June. Dancers missing more than 6hrs of any class will be required to take an hour private lesson with their instructor for each class absence over 6 if they wish to perform. Dancers missing more than 9 classes from Jan.-June are not eligible to perform regardless of private lessons as performing is a “team” art.
b Make-up classes: Dancers are encouraged to make up classes missed for any reason in another class of the same style or level! Please give advance notice of making up classes. Makeup classes may be taken up to 4 weeks after an absence. Make up classes cannot be substituted for required privates due to more than 6 absences.
c Any student missing 3 or more weeks of classes in any one month or consecutively will be required to have a private lesson with their instructor. This private instruction is imperative for your child’s instructional continuity and physical safety, because group classes cannot be devoted to catching up one student.
d Dancers wishing to perform must be present at all additional in-studio mandatory rehearsals AND the dress rehearsal. Dancers missing any of these rehearsals will not be able to perform. No performance/costume fees will be refunded due to attendance policy violations. Exceptions: documented serious illness, emergency, or family death
4. Dress Code & Studio Conduct: (Ensemble dancers should refer to their contract)
a The following behaviors will be considered grounds for immediate disenrollment (Allonge’ does not refund): tobacco/alcohol use on Allonge property, destruction or theft of property, gossip/slander/defamation, use/possession of illegal substances on property, disrespect/verb/al abuse of instructors/parents/students, unwanted/abusive physical or verbal contact, repeated failure to follow dress code, habitual late tuition, any tuition more than 1 month delinquent.
b Students are required to abide by the assigned dress code. For your convenience, Allonge’ offers shopping at a wholesale prices from our dress code boutique. We are happy to size your dancer! No item may be returned/exchanged without tags attached!
c All dancewear should be labeled with your dancer’s initials. Replacing lost shoes is expensive!
d Students are expected to arrive to class on-time. Late arrival is a distraction to others. Admittance to class more than 10 minutes late will be at instructor’s discretion. Three (3) tardies will be counted as 1 absence. Students arriving late to class should not walk into a class that is in session. Students should wait for admittance to class.
e No gum or jewelry (except stud earrings) are permitted in class. Hair must be in a bun for ballet 1+. Please do not wear hair accessories that may fall out posing a hazard on the dance floor.
f Class time is brief and valuable. In order to get the most from each class, we ask that you bring a bottle of water in to class with you, and use the restroom before class to avoid interruption.
g In order to benefit from all corrections given in class, dancers should not socialize during class unless a break is given.
h Behavior or criticism/gossip that causes division or a negative atmosphere (whether in the waiting area or the studio) will not be tolerated. Allonge’ reserves the right to deny instruction to those who refuse to uphold its mission for an encouraging environment.
i When class is in session, please keep the door closed unless there is an emergency. Parent observation weeks will be scheduled and announced.
j No street shoes on the studio floors; do not touch the mirrors or hang from the barres.
k Children are expected to be picked up at the end of their class. Dancers under the age of 8 may not be dropped off without parental supervision. If you are running late or have an emergency, please call so we can be sure your child is supervised. Parents of dancers under 5 are expected to remain in the building during class. Our staff is unable to supervise children when not in class. Habitual violation of policy may be cause for disenrollment.
l Performance Shoes & Tights: To ensure uniformity and a professional presentation, dancers must wear only Revolution brand Pink Convertible ballet tights, Revolution brand matte-black buckle tap shoes (Fundamentals), Revolution brand jazz gore boot, Revolution brand tap oxford, and Revolution brand pink stretch canvas ballet shoes for performances. No exceptions! Dancers found in incorrect attire will not go on stage.
m Ensemble dancers should refer to additional policies and requirements in their Ensemble Agreements.
