Fri Int/Adv Ballet
Dee Pitchon
Placement in this class is determined by the instructor. As with each level, students must demonstrate competency of previous levels. Students will see an increase in difficulty in barre and center work as they progress. Intermediate Ballet is also a pointe class, which offers exercises to serious ballet students to further develop and strengthen the muscles necessary to go en pointe. Pointe classes stress correct alignment and correct classical ballet technique. Pointe classes also allow teachers to assess readiness, offering an atmosphere for proper evaluation of important skills. A dancer should never work in pointe shoes until their teacher has told them they are ready to do so. All students must have permission from the instructor to enroll in this class and must also be attending multiple ballet classes per week plus other genres. Students must also enroll in Ballet Stretch to ensure they are sufficiently warmed up prior to this class.
