Ballet class for 6 to 8 year olds with little or no dance experience. Ballet - The base of all forms of dance, Ballet technique consists of stylized and controlled movements and positions, which develops ultimate strength and flexibility. Ballet is beneficial at any age, and is a safe form of exercise and building strength. We strongly encourage all of our students enrolled in more than one form of dance to study ballet, as the technique is found in every dance class.

Students of jazz are strongly encouraged to study ballet simultaneously for the best possible jazz dance experience.

Lyrical/Contemporary (Ages 6-11)
Contemporary - Contemporary is a style that focuses on unconventional movement. It does not have fixed movement instead it is a search of new forms and dynamics. Oppositional movement, alignment, raw emotion and systematic breathing is its main focus. Students are strongly encouraged to take ballet and jazz simultaneously with this class in order to get the best experience.

Lyrical - Lyrical is an adaptation of ballet, modern and jazz expressing feeling with a focus on body lines, balance, and sustained extensions. Higher-level class will include more contemporary skills and floor work. Students of lyrical are strongly encouraged to study ballet and Jazz simultaneously for the best possible lyrical dance experience.

Creative Movement
Creative Movement - Focused on furthering the development of loco motor skills, (skipping, leaping, galloping, jumping, etc.), and introducing ballet-based dance fundamentals, this class is perfect for the young mover. Students are introduced to dance elements, such as level, direction, and shape. They practice self-control as they follow directions, take turns, and practice following and being the leader. This is a 30-minute class. Dancer should be potty-trained and able to attend without a parent present in classroom.
