Beginners Acro (Gymnastics and Dance)
For pupils ages 5-7 who wish to learn the basics of gymnastics and gymnastic dance! Pupils will work on flexibility, strength and balance whilst learning sequences of movement. An excellent class to build the foundation for splits, cartwheels, ariels etc. Spaces are strictly limited to 12 per class to ensure excellent learning.

Junior Acro (Ages 8-11)
An exciting fusion of gymnastics and dance - previous experience is not required at this age. Pupils will develop flexibility and gymnastic skills, plus tricks and other fun movements that are sure to impress in shows and competitions! Places limited to 12 per class to ensure excellent learning in a genre that requires teacher spotting/extra individual attention.

For our Senior and Advanced pupils, this class will push your gymnastic and Acro skills to an advanced level. This class supports other genres and competition work. Pupils will also be invited to perform in MV Academy shows. A maximum number of 12 spaces are avilable.

Ballet Scholars + Competitive Ballet
Pupils may audition for this class if they are serious about progressing their ballet technique to an outstanding level. Entry is by audition only and pupils must demonstrate excellent technical and performance skill to win a place. If awarded a place excellent attendance and commitment is expected. Pupils will be coached for competitions, auditions and further training opportunities. Pupils ages 10+ at Grade 4 and above will be considered for the class. Friday Dance Foundation (Ages 5-7)
A fun and exciting introduction to Dance and performance. Pupils learn a fun mixture of Ballet, Jazz and Gymnastics, whilst developing flexibility, balance and co-ordination. This is a performance focused class and children will be invited to share their work throughout the year.

Upper Junior West End Jazz (School Years 5+6)
An exciting and upbeat class that improves confidence, performance skills and technique. Exercises develop strength and flexibility, whilst routines allow pupils to enjoy performing and dancing. A great class to support both Musical Theatre performance and competitive dancing.

Junior Competition Team
Entry by audition only. This class is for our junior competitive dance students. A minimum of three years dance experience is recommended before audition. Pupils must take part in at least two other technique classes with MV Academy to participate in this class and ensure technique is developed to the high standard competitions require. (Ballet, Jazz or Acro)

Junior Musical Theatre (Weekday 1)
Our Weekday Musical Theatre Class for Junior pupils ages 8-11. Pupils work on their Acting, Singing and Dancing skills and work towards performances or showcases. The skills learned in this class will help pupils with their roles in productions, auditions and developing confidence. No previous experience is needed to join this class. This term pupils are invited to perform at the Indigo O2!

Elite Musical Theatre Team (Competitions and Performances)
This class is for pupils who are serious about Musical Theatre, as a competitive hobby or as a future (or perhaps even current) career. Spots are extremely limited and a high level of commitment is expected. Pupils must demonstrate outstanding in talent in two of the three genres and the potential and discipline to work on their weakness. They must demonstrate a professional and mature attitude to their classes, performances and rehearsals. Pupils are expected to take at least two other classes with MV Academy to ensure their technique remains strong enough for the team. *Maximum number of 12 places available* (If a spot is not offered to pupils this term, MV Staff will suggest alternative classes to pupils so they can work towards entry at a later date if they wish.)

Beginners Ballet and Dance Foundation (Ages 3-4)
A magical introduction to Dance with our Head of Ballet Hannah Smith. Pupils will take their first steps into Ballet and other genres in a warm encouraging environemnt. Pupils will also be invited to partcipate in our end of year show! A great foundation for future dance styles and RAD examinations. Thursdays at Christ Church SW14 7AW, 3.45pm-4.15pm

Primary RAD Ballet
A class for pupils ages 5-7 to begin work on their Ballet RAD Examination preperation. The class takes place every Thursday with our Head of Ballet Hannah Smith. 4.15pm-4.45pm at Christ Church - just around the corner from Sheen Mount School and a 10 minute walk from East Sheen High Street. (Term fee = 12x sessions at £8 each) A maximum number of 12 pupils are permitted in this class to ensure excellent learning. Classes are always assisted by a senior MV pupil or teaching asssitant. Please visit the website for uniform guidelines. Pupils may then wish to stay for Dance Foundation (4.45pm-5.15pm) with Hannah M-V to focus on show work, Jazz and flexbility.

Thursday Dance Foundation
A fusion of Jazz, Show Dance and Gymnastics, to provide Dancers with a strong foundation for further Dance training. Inspiring, upbeat and fun - this class is accessible to young dancers. Opportunities to perform are also presented throughout the year. Pupils are warmly invited to participate in RAD Primary Ballet alongside this class to prepare for their Ballet Examinations.

An exciting upbeat class for pupils to develop their Jazz dance skills whilst dancing to music they know and love from Musicals. An excellent foundation for competitive dancing (alongside Ballet and Acro) for pupils in year groups 3+4 at school. (or older beginners)

Pre-Primary RAD Ballet
Pre-Primary Ballet with the RAD Syllabus, taught by professional Dancer and RAD Teacher Hannah. Pupils will be taught this wonderful foundation for Ballet whilst having fun in our lovely Richmond studio.

Grade 2 RAD Ballet
For Dancers who have reached or are able to dance at grade 2 standard, pupils will be taught the RAD syllabus and also given opportunities to perform in shows and concerts. Selected pupils will be invited to enter for the examination, the decision of the teacher is final and some pupils may not be ready to take the examination. (Good attendance and practise at home are essential)

Senior West End Jazz is an upbeat class that allows senior pupils to work on their flexibility and Jazz technique. Kicks, leaps and turns are strengthened and performance skills are taught to all. This style of Dance alongside a good foundation in Ballet gives pupils a good foundation for competitions and auditions. 12 classes in spring term

Senior Competition Team
Our Senior Dance Competition team is entry by audition only. Last year this team placed first in their first two competitions and dancers in this class must be committed to maintaining the high standard established. A minimum of three years Dance experience is expected and pupils must take at least one other dance technique class with MV Academy. (Ballet, Jazz and Acro are highly recommended for competitive pupils) Dancers regularly represent the school and pupils should not be dancing on any other competition team or performance team without consent. 12 classes this term. Pupils who are repeatedly absent from class or unable to attend competitions without an acceptable reason may be asked to leave the team by the principal.

Saturday Intensive Dance (Flexibility and Technique)
A class to work on flexibility, technique and performance. This class will help pupils see huge improvement in their dance and technique. It is also suitable for beginners who wish to improve their skills for Musical Theatre productions and auditions. Taught by Charlie, a talented Arts Ed pupil who will pass on his knowledge from one of the top Musical Theatre Degrees in the UK.

Senior Musical Theatre
Outstanding Musical Theatre training for Senior School Pupils. Several exciting opportunities to perform throughout the year. Pupils are trained to a high level in Acting, Singing and Dancing. This class runs with a professional approach to training, pupils are expected to be on time and to have prepared for their class. Pupils may be invited to audition for professional and semi-professional projects.

Junior Acting helps pupils to understand how to approach scritpts and monologues. It includes confidence boosting games, audition technique, group work, directing skills and much more. Pupils will be invited to perform their work at the MV end of year show. A maximum of 12 pupils are accepted in this class as monologues require more individual attention.

Senior Acting and Audition Technique
Acting for pupils age 11-18. Audition technique, monologue skills, script reading, sight reading, acting for screen, improvisation, physicality, characterisation and more. Pupils may also opt into LAMDA or Guildhall examinations. An excellent class for pupils who wish to attend auditions or are thinkng of applying for drama schools/ further performing arts programmes/ scholarships. A maximum of 12 pupils are accepted to ensure monologues recieve enough individual attention.

For pupils in School year 9 and above. A high standard of Contemporary Dance, with many opportunities to perform throughout the year. This class has a more relaxed approach in Summer Term when many of our older pupils sit their GCSE and A level examinations.
