This class is for dancers who may already have received tap dance instruction in our Preschool Combo 2 classes or for ages 5+ who are new to tap dance. We will build upon our rhythmic skills, solidify the intricacies of distinguishing between the heel and toe sounds of our taps in different movements, and build our musicality, counting, and memorization skills. The class is structured with a short warm-up routine, progressions, rhythmic syncapations, and may vary with brief choreographed dance games or pattern, and end with choreography that will build for a few weeks at a time.
Steps introduced/improved upon in this class include, but are not limited to: shuffle, taps, digs, hops, irish, perididdle, spank, ball change, stomp, stamp, step, and brush tap (this becomes a flap).

This class is for little ones and their moms (or other family member) who are eager to begin dance classes, but not quite ready to separate and attend class alone. "Mommy" will participate in active stretching and help guide little ones through movements and activities.

This class is for students who have previously had at least 6 months of ballet class and is familiar with all positions, plie, passe, releve, and tendus. Our graduating Preschool Combo 2 students should be eligible to skip Beginning Ballet 1 and enroll in this class. Students in this class will progress with basic technique and learn better stability, turnout, and additional steps such as attitude, arabesque, balance, pirhouettes, jete's, leaps, etc.

This class is meant for boys to have a safe and comfortable environment to take their dance style to the next level. In this class, we teach mostly B-Boy and break dancing styles of hip-hop. We strive to help our dancers become stronger, more fluid, more creative, and more confident in their skills. We are aiming to be ready for group meets and competitions next year.

This class is for students who have had previous jazz and hip-hop experience. We will continue to work on pirouette techniques, floorwork, swag, and popular and basic jazz and hip-hop steps.

This class is primarily for students with ~3 years or more previous ballet experience. Knowledge of ballet positions, tendus, plies, soute's, 3 step turns, chaines, passe, arabesque, and how to work from front, side, back is required. Students should be able to be stable on one leg, extend through a straight leg, know how to spot, begin to utilize their arms in support of movement, point their toes through the foot and leg, are aware of appropriate alignment and turnout. Students should be able to execute a pirhouette and leap, we will work on perfecting these two keystones of ballet at the intermediate level, but basic proper execution is required prior to admittance into this level. (Recommended for students previously enrolled in Beginning Ballet 3 class.)

Stretch & Strengthening (ages 18+)
This class helps to develop and strengthen the dance muscles. For example, we strengthen our feet for pointed toes and sustained forced arches, we isolate and tone our hamstrings and abductors for turns, kicks, and balance, we strengthen our core for control of movement, we work on flexibility for leaps and jumps. We leverage yoga blocks, balls, bands, and other measures to attain optimal isolation of the muscles and the mildest yet sustained stretches for developing lean but tone muscles.

This is an advanced level class that can be modified for intermediate level students as well. We introduce improvisational skills and encourage students to be comfortable being uncomfortable while they are learning how to use their bodies.

This class introduces dancers to basic jazz and hip-hop steps and the similarities and differences between the two styles. We learn jazz walks and hip-hop bounce, passe and snake, pas de boure, grapevine, kick step touch, and ball change. The dance combinations vary, but we liken the style to what is mainly seen on the disney channel or kids bop videos.

This class is a preschooler's introduction to hip-hop movement. We use imagery, dance games, stories, and other teaching techniques. We teach directional movement (ie front, back, right, left, up, down), bilateral movement, jumping, turning and flowing basics, top-rock, floorwork, and more. They will begin to learn sequencing moves together and by the end of the season be able to memorize choreography.

This class is for adults who have previously taken ballet class and are eager to dance again. We always focus on basics, but this class allows for advanced steps to be added into the curriculum. Goals for this class are: multiple pirhouettes, leaps, long sequences of petite allegro, proper turnout and sustained extensions, promonade, ponche, etc. Don't be intimidated, we understand it takes a while to get back into dancing and have all started fresh at some point. We work with your individual level within the given instruction to modify accordingly.

This class is for little ones who are eager to begin dance classes and ready to learn independently. This class engages toddlers at their level to introduce them to concepts of dance in an inviting and encouraging manner. Similar to our Mommy and Me Pre-ballet curriculum in the beginning of the season, we use props and song stories to introduce movement concepts to young bodies that are still grasping basic motor skills. As we progress during the year, we will modify the course to mirror more of the preschool ballet curriculum, taking away place markers, learning all ballet positions, teaching combinations, and other basic ballet positions and movement skills.

Intermediate Contemporary for Adults will teach techniques of combining ballet, jazz and modern dance into one flow of movement at an intermediate level. Contemporary dance uses the dancer's breath, body and mind to create fluidity and expression in dance typically to contemporary or lyrical music. Intermediate level differs from beginning level in the difficulty in floor work and transitional movement as well as agility and expression.

We incorporate narration, activities and games with standard ballet routine and rewards* to develop a structure in our classes that allows for optimal participation and learning. In addition to the educational and social benefits (see goals and benefits below), students enrolled in this class will be at an advantage in future dance or other sports activities having learned the foundations of dance at an early age.

This class is primarily for students with ~3 years or more previous ballet experience. We leverage yoga blocks, balls, bands, and other measures to attain optimal isolation of the muscles and the mildest yet sustained stretches for developing lean but tone muscles.

This class is for little ones who are eager to begin dance classes and ready to learn independently. This class engages toddlers at their level to introduce them to concepts of dance in an inviting and encouraging manner. Similar to our Mommy and Me Pre-ballet curriculum in the beginning of the season, we use props and song stories to introduce movement concepts to young bodies that are still grasping basic motor skills. As we progress during the year, we will modify the course to mirror more of the preschool ballet curriculum, taking away place markers, learning all ballet positions, teaching combinations, and other basic ballet positions and movement skills.

We incorporate narration, activities and games with standard ballet routine and rewards* to develop a structure in our classes that allows for optimal participation and learning. In addition to the educational and social benefits (see goals and benefits below), students enrolled in this class will be at an advantage in future dance or other sports activities having learned the foundations of dance at an early age.

Class Specific Goals:

• Learn technique that will improve flexibility and strength
• Learn principle movements of ballet such as all of the positions, plie, releve, passe, arabesque, chasse, soute, tendu, degage, leap, bourre and chaine turn and more
• Learn principle movements of tap such as brush, spank, shuffle, scuff, tap, shim-sham and more
*. Learn principle movements of jazz such as jazz walks, jazz slide, chasse, ball change, chaine, passe, pencil turn, jazz square, and more
This class will improve memorisation, balance, and performance skills.
