Crystal: Ballet - Advanced 2 RAD - Wednesday
Advanced 2 RAD is a minimum of a two years training before sitting the examination. It is at this level versatility and refinement is taking place. A student will really begin to feel like a dancer at this time, achieving technical gains over complicated sequences and steps.

Classical Ballet is an essential element of every dancer’s repertoire. It creates balance, grace, agility, core strength and discipline. The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) is one of the largest and most influential dance education and training organisations in the world. RAD was created with the objective to improve the standard of ballet teaching and in pursuit of that goal, a new teaching method and dance technique was created. The RAD teaching method is now taught in over 70 countries around the world, setting very high standards of dance training for over 250,000 students each year. The RAD international network of examiners travel the world examining pupils in the Syllabus at every level. The most identifiable aspect of the RAD method is the attention to detail when learning the basic steps, and the progression in difficulty is often very slow.

We have wonderful options if Distinction is achieved at this level with the International Margot Fonteyn Award being an option to work toward. This can be held anywhere in the world and is in London every second year.

Top Tips:
Make sure you have food and water before class
Tell the teacher if you have any niggles
Attend Classical Technique classes twice per week

Shimmer: Twinkle Toes Ballet
So now you are a little older and have grown in confidence, it’s time to spread your fairy wings and move on to our advanced class. Here, older toddlers dance on their own, enjoying age-appropriate ballet narratives and activities to help engage them.

Class Tips:
For your child to gain the most from the class we ask that you arrive 5-10mins early and ensure they have been to the bathroom before class.
If your child needs to re-enter the class at any point we ask that you follow our etiquette and wait until the music is finished until you enter. This allows all the students in the studio to continue to be focused and engage in what they are doing, it also stops your child from entering the studio with no affirmation from the teachers.

Your child will graduate to Sparkle Ballet when they are turning 5yrs. We will contact you will the graduation time and hope you enjoy this delightful wee ceremony.
