This is a Pre-school introduction to the world of dance. Creative dance and intro to ballet are included in this 45-minute class. Stretching and movement encourage body and space awareness. Children are involved in group participation activities that enhance and develop rhythm and coordination skills. Creative Movement 1 is for 2-1/2 year olds to 5 year olds new to dance.

Ballet & Tap Combo Class

Pre-K and Kindergarten aged dancers are introduced and review the basics of ballet and tap as well as fundamental locomotor skills, body control, musicality and discipline needed for future dance study. Creative exercises give young students an opportunity to express themselves and to put their learning to use.

Boys Hip Hop
This boys only hip-hop class is a high-energy class that infuses the latest styles of street dancing, floorwork, isolations, and control. Classes will encourage students to step outside of the box by bringing their own individual style and personality to the movements. Hip hop dance requires students to have the strength and stamina to successfully perform moves.

Level 2 Class

Jazz places emphasis on contemporary technique, rhythm, and style. All classes begin with a warm-up using isolations, bending, and stretching exercises, followed by dance combinations of turns, kicks, leaps, and jumps.

Tap is the discipline that teaches dancers to use their feet as a rhythm instrument. Students will learn footwork that helps develop agility, musicality, and stylized movement with a variety of tap styles from Broadway to Rhythm tap. Exercises focus on building flexibility of the knee and ankles, coordination, and speed of movement.

Level 1 Combination Class

Ballet is the foundation of dance and dancers will work on balance, timing, strength, and creative expression. Students will also establish a foundation of proper form that will help prevent injury and establish the confidence necessary to move forward to other forms of dance.

*Must have had at least 5 years of ballet and currently be enrolled in a ballet class to participate

*Must have at least 5 years previous ballet training and approved by the instructor.

Musical Theatre class will focus on learning proper dance technique while exploring the various dance styles used in Broadway shows. Class curriculum is based on ballet technique layered with Broadway style jazz movement and includes a proper warm-up, stretches, isolations, across-the-floor progressions, and combinations. Emphasis will also be placed on learning performance skills such as connecting with the audience and telling a story through dance and facial expressions.

* Must also be enrolled in a jazz/tap combo class to participate

Learn the basics or work on advancing your skills in this flexible class! Acro is not the typical tumbling or gymnastics class. Our experienced Acrobatic Arts certified instructor will guide the class towards increased flexibility, balance, strength, muscle control, discipline and concentration. This class will focus on fundamental acrobatic technique, teaching such skills as handstands, chin stands, elbow stands, cartwheels, back bends, walkovers, balance and contortion tricks, all at each student's individual level of experience.

*Students will be placed in level determined by the instructor after the first class.
