Aesthetics: Gymnastics routines are judged on technical execution and difficulty, while acro dance emphasizes the artistic integration of dance and acrobatics, focusing on performance quality and fluidity.
Equipment: Gymnastics uses specialized equipment (like the balance beam, uneven bars, vault, etc.), whereas acro dance is typically performed on a dance floor without such apparatus.
Competitive Framework: While both can be competitive, gymnastics competitions are more structured with clear guidelines and scoring systems. Acro dance competitions, while also judged, often have more variability in style and presentation, allowing for greater creative expression.
