We will use mats in addition to other acro equipment during the gymnastics portion of class and will explore creative movements relating them to hip hop dance. Make sure shoes are only worn in the studio. No street shoes. This class will perform at the Spring Recital held Friday, May 31st.

Combo 2 is a great class to continue to develop your dancer's skills in Ballet, Jazz, and Tap dance. This class is designed to allow children to discover fundamental body movements and directional commands necessary to set to expand upon foundation for beginning dance technique. We explore rhythms and beats in music, as well as learn basic dance vocabulary. Props such as rhythm sticks, parachutes, and instruments are often used along with dance-focused games in order to ignite an early love for dance in your little one! Class will be held on Tuesdays from 4:45pm-5:30pm. Dancers are required to wear dance appropriate clothing. Dancers will also need tap shoes and ballet shoes.

Beginning Ballet ages 6-9
Beginning Ballet focuses on exercises, techniques and steps of classical ballet with an emphasis on terminology and correct body alignment. Dancers will develop an aesthetic awareness of the art of classical ballet. Students will continue to build upon fundamental ballet terminology with a focus on fostering strength, flexibility, and balance. Dancers are required to wear a leotard, pink tights, and ballet shoes. Ballet skirts are allowed. Hair should be secured back into a bun.

Ballet Technique for Competition Dancers ages 12-17
This Ballet class if for the serious dancer. Dancers should have a strong understanding of ballet movement and body alignment. They should be developing more refined turn-out, epaulement (upper body movement),
and port de bras (arm placement). Class is structured as a traditional ballet class, and students should have a developed understanding of ballet terminology. Dancers must wear leotard, pink tights, ballet skirt (optional), ballet shoes, and hair secured in a bun.

Progressive Ballet Technique ages 10-17
Progressing Ballet Technique, is a revolutionary program designed to enhance technique by specializing in muscle memory, flexibility, and using dance medicine to enhance strength, alignment, and proper port de bras placement.
PBT has a gradual approach with specific exercises and repetitions to help understand how the body works and which muscle groups take part in each dance movement. Using bands and exercise balls, the students gain a sense of posture and weight-placement while feeling each correct muscle group working throughout each exercise.
Equipment: Yoga Mat is recommended.

Improv with Jenna ages 13-18
Improvisation refers to the process of simultaneously creating movement. An Improvisation class is an opportunity for dancers to explore and discover movement that is fun and unique to their bodies through guided creative exercises that may/may not use music, props, technology, and/or other artistic mediums. Improvisation can be done for any style of dance! While improvising, a dancer’s imagination is cultivated as a tool for how to problem-solve, critically think, and communicate during the process of generating movement. Being comfortable with improvisation leads to creating and sequencing movement that can later be used to choreograph phrases and/or full-length routines.
Classes will be held on Wednesdays from 4:30m-5:15pm.
