Ballet Chelsea prides itself on offering high-caliber training to dancers who are commitment to their art and community. Auditions for Ballet Chelsea Performance Company including Senior Company, Junior Company, Professional Training Program, Professional Artists, and Associate Artists will take place at Ballet Chelsea Studios in August. Rehearsals begin in September.

Ballet Chelsea's Adaptive Dance Program (ADP) brings movement classes to residents ages 3 - 93. Classes are designed with mental, physical, and / or cognitive limitations. Each class is tailor made to the needs and abilities of the participants and aims to improve coordination and balance, endurance, flexibility, self-confidence and for students - teamwork.

Have you always wanted to learn ballet? Then this class is for you! This class is an introduction to ballet technique and will take students through a series of exercises at the barre and then in the center. Dancers will work on developing balance, coordination, strength, and flexibility, all while growing a strong knowledge of the basics of ballet.

Move! Freeze! Slo Mo… Smile… Frown… Inhale…Giggle! ...Now, hold perfectly still…wait…wait…. When you act with your WHOLE body, the WHOLE audience gets it! Playing characters with clear and understandable techniques, physical attitudes, rhythm and movement styles reaches into the actor’s soul and touches the heart of everyone watching. Mime and physical acting shows students how to use the poetry and drama of movement to create and show so many different thoughts and feelings.

Prepare your young dancer age 6-7 for a lifelong love of ballet with this age-appropriate introduction to ballet technique. Dancers will focus on establishing basic ballet technique and positions while advancing to more complex sequences of movements. Imagination and creativity continue to play an important role in class. Must take at least one year of Beginning Ballet, or have permission from the Assistant Artistic Director to enroll.

Contemporary 5 & 6 focuses on different types of movement, playing with dynamics and musicality. After a warm up consisting of conditioning and stretching, students will move across the floor with combinations that strengthen their technique. This class is a great addition to classical ballet and will help enhance dancers’ connections to their bodies and the floor.
