General 2
Students start to learn more advanced ballet, tap and tumbling. They will be introduced to performance skills and self expression while still working on musicality.
They will work on the same skills and technique for a month. Then the following month they will build on the skills and technique they did the month before. Props will be used in class to emphasize the skills being taught and make the learning environment fun and engaging.
They will do 1 dance in our annual recital. Their dance will be a ballet dance.
Dress code:
Black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, beige taps.
(If you have a different color tap shoes that fit they may wear those)
Hair must be up off face.
Tutu, skirts and leg warmers maybe worn.

Modern
Modern began as rebellion against the rigid rules of ballet. In opposition of ballet’s light airy movements modern dancers uses the weight of their body to enhance their movement and use more grounded technique. Modern dancers also uses emotions and moods to design the choreography.
Miss Tina will start each class with a technique driven warm up and stretch. The students will then work on skills across the floor and end the class with choreography.
This class will perform one dance in the annual recital.

Lyrical dance utilizes techniques from both ballet and jazz to create an emotional and expressive dance that is meant to relate to the lyrics of the songs being dance to. During a lyrical dance dancers will use their body language and facial expressions to show emotions, including anger, heart, sadness, joy, love, etc. This beautiful dance style is often used as a method of storytelling and creates a connection with the audience many people love watching lyrical dance because they are relatable.

Teen Tap
Tap is a dance style in which the rhythm is audibly tapped out to created an added layer of percussion with the toe or heel by a dancer wearing shoes with metal taps.
Knee, ankle and foot articulation, coordination and speed of movement are developed and refined as dancers progress through our Tap levels. Instructors will place an emphasis on proper technique, rhythm, coordination, and musicality.
This class will perform one dance in our annual recital.

This class will perform one dance in the end of the year recital in May

They will work on the same skills and technique for a month. Then the following month they will build on the skills and technique they did the month before. Props will be used in class to emphasize the skills being taught and make the learning environment fun and engaging.
They will do 1 dance in our annual recital. Their dance will be a ballet dance.
Dress code:
Black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, beige taps.
(If you have a different color tap shoes that fit they may wear those)
Hair must be up off face.
Tutu, skirts and leg warmers maybe worn.

We are so excited to be offering our dance company again this year.
Our company is open to any student who is in 7th-12th grade, takes at least 3 dance classes a week and are interested in community services
Our company gives students the chance to go out in the community and make a difference by sharing their love of dance. Students also benefit from community service by become well rounded, compassionate, confidant people through the act of helping others.
This year in addition to their 3 community performances the company will help run the November food drive, the small business holiday fair and the kids night out event in December.
Students who participate in the Carver Dance Center Dance Company may use their donated time for high school community service requirements and college scholarship applications.
The company commitment:
Company rehearsals are held every other Sunday 5-7pm starting in October
Only 3 absences are allowed.
The company performs a minimum of 3 times in the community.
The company helps run studio base community fundraisers.
The company will perform one dance together in our annual recital(a small costume fee maybe added to original company fee)
What is included in the $406 fee
A min of 28 hours of rehearsal
A company jacket
Basic costumes for community performances
Community service hours
