Lyrical is a fluid form of dance done to popular ballads and slower music. The dancer is taught to interpret his or her movement with feeling, motion and style. They will learn to tell a story or create the picture of the song. This style combines the fluid beauty of ballet with the more sharp moves in jazz. A Ballet or Jazz class is recommended along with lyrical/contemporary to build in technique. We do incorporate Adv Technical Elements so Adv Technique is recommended.

Stretch, Flexibility and Strength
This class is great for stretching and lengthening tight muscles. Stretching is important for people of all ages. One of the greatest benefits of stretching is that you’re able to increase your range of motion, which means your limbs and joints can move through a greater range, helping to ward off injury. Other benefits of stretching include reduced muscle tension, enhanced muscular coordination, increased blood circulation and higher energy levels. The instructor uses various techniques like "PNF", partnering, band work and more. They will also utilize strength exercises to increase strength in hip flexors, hamstrings, ankles and more!

REQUIREMENTS:
-You must also be enrolled in either Adv Lyrical Mon 7:45-8:45pm OR Adv Technique Wed 5-6pm OR Adv Jazz Wed 6-7:15pm OR Diversity Lab Wed 7:15-8:45pm and must be a Tech 1, 2 or 3 membership. There is NO additional fee for this class for Tech 1 members. There is an additional $15 a month fee to attend this class if you are on Tech 2 or 3.

This is a fitness based Ballet class using equipment such as exercise balls, bands, and blocks. This class is perfect for the dancer that wants to build strength and improve flexibility.
Dress Code: fitted athletic wear, legging or tights, tank top or leotard. Ballet shoes are encouraged but if you do not have that is ok. Hair out of face in a ponytail or bun. Don't forget to bring a water bottle too!
