COMP MUSICAL THEATRE SOLO
Congratulations! Your dancer has been invited to a competitive MUSICAL THEATRE SOLO. Accept your dancers invitation to this dance style by registering for this class. *New this season* S/D/T will book their choreography sessions in one-to-two-hour blocks. Dancers are required to practice their routine at home so they do not forget their choreography. Solo fee is split into a fall session choreography fee (5 Hours of choreography ) and a winter session rehearsal fee (18,1 hour group rehearsal sessions with the routine choreographer) Rehearsal sessions will be held weekly January
Dancers do not get to pick their choreographer. Choreographers (Instructors) are assigned to routines biased on many factors including but not limited to: genre specific qualifications, seniority, employment contract with TDW, student availability, instructor availability and room availability. The studio will reach out to you to plan choreography sessions days and times.

NEW dancers to The Dance Ability Movement will pay $165 +HST for their Initial Occupational Therapy Intake in addition to their class tuition.

This class is designed for dancers ages 8+ who wish to focus on developing their Ballet technique. These dancers do not necessarily need a 1:1 volunteer buddy, but benefit from having peer models in the class to learn from and develop age-appropriate social relationships. This class is for dancers who express desires to be a ballerina, and are looking for a FUN way to build in ballet technique to their dance class!
Typically dancers registering for this class have been referred by their OT from The Dance Ability Movement or are looking for a new dance style to participate in other than the standard "Dance Ability Hip Hop" classes. Designed as an introductory class to Jazz and Hip Hop, and adapted to meet the just-right level of challenge for each dancer. Dancers work on gross motor movements through engaging in warm-up, travel to learn dance steps across the floor, and centre dance skills. Dancers work on developing coordination, rhythmicity, and social skills with peers. Freestyle opportunities to develop self-expression and confidence are a key component of this class. This is a great upbeat class focused on fun and participation!

A class for dancers beginning at the age of 10+ with 1:1 volunteer buddies as needed, specifically designed to teach tap skills. Tap classes develop skills in rhythmicity, counting music, balance, and coordination, while providing a great source of audio feedback for dancers to learn through hearing their feet move! This is a great option for dancers looking to expand their dance skill set and branch out from the Ballet, Jazz, and Hip Hop styles. Dancers will be required to wear tap shoes for these classes. Seated dancers can join in the musical rhythms too! Ask us for ideas on how to adapt tap shoes or modify tap classes to suit your needs!

Registering for this class means you are consenting to your contact information being shared with DAM for participation in this program. NEW DANCERS OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST (OT) INTAKE: New Dancers will be contacted by an Occupational Therapist from The Dance Ability Movement (DAM) to complete an intake and register with the DAM community. NEW dancers to The Dance Ability Movement will pay $165 +HST for their Initial Occupational Therapy Intake in addition to their class tuition.
