Ballet Level 1a class is the foundation of all dance and the most important discipline of all dance forms to establish a proficient technical dancer. This ballet level is all about setting the proper foundation that set your dancer up for success! Class time is spent focusing on proper placement, body alignment, safely working in a turned out position, ballet vocabulary, and class etiquette. Exercises are performed at a moderate tempo to ensure the dancer is using the correct muscles for each movement. Muscle memory is developed through lots and lots of repetition. It may look simple from the lobby, but even standing still requires a dancer to think of 8-10 things at a time. Students are highly encouraged to study it first or along with other dance forms. Attire: Pink leather ballet shoes, hair in bun, leotard with tights that match the shoe color are preferred.

This level is all about putting it together! Dancers will be challenged with a full class consisting of barre work, center, and across the floor. Class time is spent focusing on emphasizing the specific qualities of each movement, multiple pirouettes, beat work, and incorporating épaulement into every movement. Dancers in level 3 may participate in pointe work after passing the pointe exam.

This level is all about adding steps and vocabulary to your dancers repertoire. After mastering personal turn out, alignment, and placement basics, your dancers is ready to take on more content. Class time is spent focusing on ankle strength, hip placement, lots of balance work, pirouette and allegro basics, and working with body directors. Dancers in level 2 may also be selected to participate in pre-pointe.

This advanced ballet class refines technique, body positions, perfect footwork, posture, alignment and balance. Center work includes adagio, petite allegro, across the floor, and grande allegro. Students will work on jumps, turns and leaps with emphasis on strength and control. Dancers who have a strong ballet education will be versatile in all dance forms and styles. Attire: ballet shoes, hair in bun, level color leotard or black leotard and pink tights are preferred.

This level is all about putting it together! Dancers will be challenged with a full class consisting of barre work, center, and across the floor. Class time is spent focusing on emphasizing the specific qualities of each movement, multiple pirouettes, beat work, and incorporating épaulement into every movement. Dancers in level 3 may participate in pointe work after passing the pointe exam.

Jr Lyrical - Thur 6:15
Jessica Marlow
This style of dance is a fluid combination of ballet and jazz technique and will add a contemporary combination. It is more expressive in nature, relating to the spirit, nature, joy and freedom of the individual dancer. Lyrical & contemporary dance uses movement to interpret the music and expresses emotion. Attire: bare feet, jazz shoes, pirouettes, solid color leotard and tights. Boy shorts and close-fitting tops are acceptable.

This class will focus on the progression and correct technical execution of turns, leaps, kicks, tilts, leg extensions, tricks and flexibility.

This class will study a variety of musicals through challenging choreography studying proper technique in all genres, students learn repertory from past and current Broadway shows. Attire: jazz shoes, form fitting clothes, solid color leotard and tights, jazz pants, leggings, shorts and close-fitting tops are acceptable.

Pointe class for dancers interested in developing the strength to dance on pointe. Email us if interested in being evaluated to take this class.
Prerequisites:
Student is at least 12 years old by the start of the dance season.
Student is enrolled in 2.5-3 hrs of ballet technique classes per week (not including pre pointe).
Student is currently at a ballet level 2 or higher.
