Summer 2024 Camps & Workshops
Recreational Teams Application (Purple Team)
To submit an application for one of our Recreational Purple Teams (Little Skittles, Mini Starbursts, Sweet Petites, or Junior Mints) please register online by selecting this class. Applications will be accepted until July 12th and then approval/waitlist e-mails will be sent out the following week. Applicants will have one week to accept their spot before their spot is given to the next dancer on the waitlist. Applications will be sorted by experience, technique level, previous class attendance, behavior/attitude, ages, and if they are a returning member from the previous year. OPDC decides all placements best for the dancer, placements can not be requested. Spots are limited! Submitted applications do not guarantee spots and once spots are filled a waitlist will be formed. All four teams are required for the fall season to take at minimum: one weekly ballet class for their age group and their weekly team rehearsal class. They are highly encouraged to take a weekly Acro class and/or another weekly technique class. No summer requirements. Applicants must have previously danced a season at OPDC or complete two summer session classes in 2024.
Ages 4.5 - 15

The Enchanted Confetti Casita (June 17th-18th)

We may not talk about Bruno-no-no-no, but fans of Disney’s Encanto will be talking non-stop about this magical, fantastical ballet, tap, and creative movement camp! The enchanted tiles of the Casita’s Candescent Courtyard will guide dancers to unlock three glowing doorways that each reveal a dance challenge! Once completed, they’ll be granted entry into the Enchanted Confetti Casita to explore the world of dance where their vivid imaginations will brightly shine! Filled with magical movements, fantastical fun and colorful crafts, this imaginative dance camp is sure to bring glowing reviews for all who experience it!

Marquee Mix-Up: Movie Magic (June 10th-12th)
Cue the paparazzi and get ready to shine like a star in Marquee Mix-Up: Movie Magic! Dancers will explore the magic of our fav movie musicals: The Greatest Showman, Newsies, Grease, Mary Poppins, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, while learning musical theatre, jazz, and hip hop! Your dancing movie stars will create their own sets and props to prepare for their big premiere where they will walk the red carpet and showcase a fabulous performance from each of these movie musicals! Dancers will also shine on the big screen when they star in their own mini-movie featuring their magical dance moves!

Grab your pinkest PJs and your dreamiest doll for the dazzling jazz, hip hop and ballet dance camp. From delightful games and glittery crafts to enchanted dreams and pinktastic parties, tiny dancers will make magical memories with their fancy friends doing allll things slumber party! If your dancer loves Barbie, this will be the dance camp of their dreams!

The Fancy Freeze: A Frozen Adventure (August 13th-15th)
Any dancer who loves Disney’s Frozen II will surely not be bothered by the cold in the fun, fancy + frozen dancing journey! The Fancy Freeze: A Frozen Adventure takes tiny dancers on a fanciful expedition into the unexplored through ballet, tap and creative movement. On their way to the annual Fancy Freeze dance party in the frozen forest, dancers will encounter icy dance adventure, wander through Whimsical Windy Woods, and even conquer Polar Peak! Through these challengers, they will keep their sense of adventure but also never stop being fancy! Full of whimsy, wit, adventure, fancy frocks, frozen crafts and more, this camp will crystallize into pure frozen fun!

This is your passport to all things pink, fun and sparkly where every day is the best day ever! If you love Barbie, let’s go party together in this glitteriffic jazz and hip hop dance camp!

Ready for the competitive side of dance? Our Teal Team competes a production with all teal team members and is broken up into smaller teams with specialty mixed groups, trios, duets, solos. Auditions are closed and will include a mandatory technique section for all ages. Dancers may then audition for specialty groups in different styles. Dancers should wear proper attire, hair pulled back neatly and bring needed shoes and a water bottle. Auditioning for our Teal Team does not secure spot and spots are given based off technique, performance qualities, attitude, behavior, attendance, and lastly age. If dancer is offered a spot on the Teal Team, they must attend the OPDC Intensive and there will be a mandatory Production Choreography Day on Saturday August 17th from 10am-3pm. Teal Team practices do include weekends with three mandatory regional competitions and one nationals. For someone looking for less commitment, consider auditioning for one of our Purple Teams. Technique requirements will be e-mailed/posted June 14th, dancers should attend the session for the age they will be as of January 1st 2025.
