Our ongoing season of classes, running until May, is open for registration, catering to ages 2.5-18 years old. Additionally, we offer short-term 2-5 week sessions tailored for the little ones aged 3-6 years old. (To see short term session scroll down.)

To create an account and sign up for classes:
👉Go login at top menu.
👉At the bottom left, select Create Account.
👉Create an account with the parent's information and contact details.
👉Under taking classes, add a student for each child you will have registering.
👉From the account drop-down menu at the top, select register for class.
👉Click the tab for the type of classes you are registering for (Ongoing, Short Term Sessions, Masterclasses). Check the classes you would like to register for. If classes require an additional class requirement, you will be prompted to select the additional classes from a list.
👉Click submit.
👉For the 2023/2024 Season Ongoing school year classes, auto pays are required for tuition. If you are not enrolled in autopay, a red box will appear at the top of the page. Select the blue text sign up for autopay. If you would like to make a half-season or full-season tuition payment for a discount, contact us.
👉Enter card information and submit. This should take you back to the registration page. (Not applicable for short-term sessions, summer schedule or masterclasses.)
👉Select the green finish registration now to complete the first tuition payment and registration fee.

Join us for an inspiring Lyrical Masterclass with Kara Carlson! Kara brings her extensive experience and passion for storytelling in dance, focusing on musicality, technique, and emotional connection. Dancers will have the opportunity to explore intricate choreography while developing their artistry and performance quality. This masterclass is open to current and non-current students at high beginning-advanced levels and is a perfect opportunity to grow as a dancer, learn new skills, and be inspired by Kara's experienced teaching style.
Kara's bio:
Kara was in the original Broadway cast of Disney's Tarzan. She kicked up her heels for many years as a Radio City Rockette. She was featured as an aerialist in Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat as Potiphar's wife at Tuacahn. Her dancing landed her television appearances including the MTV VMAs, The Today Show, Good Morning America, The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, The View, and Broadway Under the Stars to name a few. Kara worked with many gifted directors and choreographers such as Lynne Taylor-Corbett, Andy Blankenhuehler, Sergio Trujillo, Joey Pizzi, Chase Brock, and Mia Michaels. Kara was a full scholarship student at Pacific Northwest Ballet and trained at the Olympic Training Center after receiving first place All Around in Rhythmic Gymnast at the Junior Olympics. Her training also includes extensive tap, jazz, pilates, and salsa from the best teachers in NY and LA. Kara also modeled for Hilfiger, Foot Locker, Levis, L'Oreal, Microsoft, Vaseline, Miramax, Danskin, Capezio and more.

2024/2025 Season (Ongoing Aug-May)
This class focuses on learning various hip-hop styles and performance quality. Students will also have an opportunity with freestyle movement to develop their own sense of style. Students will also learn basic tumbling skills (forward rolls, handstands, headstands, cartwheels, etc.) to help strengthen and provide stamina.
Performances: This is a PERFORMANCE class. For performances, students will need any style of black sweat pants, leggings, or athletic shorts in good condition and $35 for a t-shirt (due September 11), and any style of CLEAN Converse style sneaker (see note on shoes below in dress code). Students will perform in The Dickens Festival on December 6 or 7 (tentative), a Christmas Concert scheduled for December 12, and a Spring Concert scheduled for May 10. Instead of charging spectators at the door, students will pay a performance fee of $45 per student or $65 for families with two or more performing immediate family members. The Christmas concert fee is due October 23. The Spring Concert fee is due March 5. All fees will run on the due date with billing information on file.
Dress Code: Includes any style of comfortable clothing students can move in. Any style of hip-hop dance or CLEAN sneaker (dedicated dance sneaker). Per Desert Edge Dance Company Rules and Policies, no street shoes are allowed on dance studio floors - including dance shoes that have been worn outside. Girls’ hair should be secured away from the face. No jewelry.

This is a formal, classic dance class. Students will learn pre-jazz, ballet, and tap techniques. To keep students interested/ nurture creativity, lessons will be reinforced using props.
Performances: This is a PERFORMANCE class. Students are required to purchase a $115.00 costume (due September 11) that includes costumes and tights that will be used at the performances in December and May. In addition, they will need pink leather ballet and black leather tap shoes to be purchased by students/parents. Students will perform in The Dickens Festival on December 6 or 7 (tentative), a Christmas Concert scheduled for December 10, and a Spring Concert scheduled for May 9. Instead of charging spectators at the door, students will pay a performance fee of $45 per student or $65 for families with two or more performing immediate family members. The Christmas Concert fee is due October 23. The Spring Concert fee is due March 5. All fees will run on the due date with billing information on file.

This class will explore various styles of dance in a less rigid, just-for-fun environment. Students will learn basic techniques and short combinations in ballet, jazz, and more while developing self-esteem and learning an appreciation for dance.
This is a NON-PERFORMANCE class.
Age Requirement: Students must either be prepared for class or must have turned two years old by February 1st.
Dress Code: Includes any style of dancewear, optional tights (footless if dancing barefoot), ballet skirt optional, or soft clothing students can move such as leggings, shorts, or a t-shirt. Boys: t-shirt and athletic shorts or pants. Students can dance barefoot or wear leather ballet or jazz shoes. No satin ballet slippers or dress-up dance shoes since they provide no traction. Hair secured away from the face. No jewelry.
Parent Observation: This class is closed to parent observation. Students should be independent and able to attend without parents. There will be parent observation days throughout the season to see what they've been working on.
Our Just For Fun class is designed as a teacher/child class. Our policy is to have parents wait in the lobby during class. This helps keep distractions to a minimum. We will work with you and your child to successfully bring happy dancers into the classroom without the parent. This may be a gradual process and be achieved over time.

Students will learn the principles and fundamentals of jazz and performance skills. They will also learn terminology, balance, dexterity, flexibility, fluidness, isolations, precision, posture placement, rhythm, strength, and syncopation.
Recommendation: Taking a jazz technique class is recommended when taking a jazz class.
Performances: This is a PERFORMANCE class. Students are required to purchase a $110 costume (due September 11) that includes costumes and tights that will be used throughout the year at performances. In addition, they will need TAN slip-on jazz shoes to be purchased by students/parents. Students will perform in The Dickens Festival on December 6 or 7 (tentative), a Christmas Concert scheduled for December 12, and a Spring Concert scheduled for May 10. Instead of charging spectators at the door, students will pay a performance fee of $45 per student or $65 for families with two or more performing immediate family members. If students have taken Combo for two or more years, we suggest they register for non-combo classes to take the styles individually. To keep students interested and nurture creativity, lessons will be reinforced using props.
Performances: This is a PERFORMANCE class. Students are required to purchase a $115.00 costume (due September 11) that includes costumes and tights that will be used at the performance in December and May. Students continue building proper technique and strength in classical ballet. Students will learn ballet vocabulary through barre and center work. They will build strength and flexibility, especially in the feet and ankles. If a female student becomes ready (with the instructor's permission), they may advance to pointe work.
This is a NON-PERFORMANCE class.
Additional class Requirements: By audition only. Contact us for a ballet evaluation before enrolling. Students attending this class must also register for and attend two additional classes: (1) leveled ballet class and (2) ballet tech class.
Dress Code: Solid black cap sleeve, tank or camisole leotard, pink footed or transitional/convertible tights, and pink Bloch Elastosplit X Leather Split-Sole ballet shoes. Girls’ hair should be secured away from the face in a tight ballet bun, preferably with no bangs. No jewelry or watches.
(Side note: Students in this class do not need Pointe shoes. If, during the season, a student becomes ready for Pointe shoes, we will notify the parent with additional information. Students would remain in Pre-Pointe until the following season. Students' progression is individual. Some students may progress quickly to Pointe shoes. Some students may repeat several years before moving to Pointe shoes.)

Using the Acrobatic Arts Syllabus, students will build strength, flexibility, and proper form to help enhance their technique in acro skills.
Requirements:
Must also register for jazz tech or jazz AND an acro class.
Must be able to do a backbend, bridge recover, cartwheel, one-handed cartwheel, front limber, and front/back walkovers.
Students must also maintain strong focus and attention to detail.
Note: This is a NON-PERFORMANCE class.
Dress Code:
Girls: Leotard, bike short/boy short, or bike unitard and bare feet. Hair in a low bun. No loose clothing, jewelry, or watches.
Boys: T-shirt and athletic shorts.

This class is a mix of modern, jazz, ballet, contemporary & lyrical, while being executed with meaning and definition. While working in the different styles, students will develop their technique and strength on a whole new basis.

This is a specialty, technique-based class. Students will learn the principles and fundamentals of jazz technique. They will also learn terminology, balance, dexterity, flexibility, fluidness, isolations, precision, posture placement, rhythm, strength, and syncopation.
This is a NON-PERFORMANCE CLASS.
Prerequisite: Must have at least two years of jazz technique experience.
Dress Code: Includes any style of form-fitting dancewear such as a leotard or plain form-fitting dance tank or sports bra, dance shorts, or form-fitting leggings with *slip-on jazz or turner shoes.
