Mini Combo Ballet/Tap A- Ages 4-6
-Students aged 4-6 as of August 31, 2024.
Class is a combination of Ballet and Tap.-Dancers will learn the five positions, beginner barre work, basic turns, jumps, and traveling exercises. Emphasis is placed on body alignment, proper arm placement, and introductory terminology. Dancers will also learn basic tap skills and terminology Fundamentals such as balance and general alignment are also introduced at this level. Dancers will perform two routines (one ballet, one tap) in the annual recital.

Harmony Dance Academy offers a very progressive tap program. Tap is a style of dance characterized by the sound of the metal tap striking the floor. Tap utilizes rhythm, syncopation, and sound in addition to movement. An emphasis is placed on musicality, expression, and improvisation. Tap students are continually challenged with new steps and combinations at all levels. Advanced students are expected to be fluent with all core tap steps including the five basic time steps (both Buck and Rhythm variations). Dancers will perform at least 1 routine in the annual recital.

Wiggles and Giggles ( My Grown Up and Me)- Ages 18 mos.-3yrs.-45 minute class
Explore the joy of movement with your child as props and pre-school music are used in a creative, fun-filled, learning environment. A parent or guardian is asked to stay in the classroom either to participate or to encourage the new student. Toilet training is not required for this class. Wiggles and Giggles dancers are invited to perform one routine in the annual recital. Parents/guardians may accompany dancer onstage ( if necessary) to perform.

This class is designed to give all our 10 year old and up students experience in performing and to develop their talents in Singing, Dancing and Acting. This helps them become more comfortable with performing in front of others as well as to become Triple Threat performers. Stage make-up and costuming will also be explored as we work together to create something amazing to present at the annual recital!

Center work includes isolations, arm and head moves in basic patterns that are fun and challenging. Traveling exercises are geared to develop coordination and flow of movement. This class focuses on developing strong lines, strengthening the dancer's technique, and understanding the body's center of movement. Students will also focus on acrobatic and tumbling moves that will enhance their dance skills and routines. An emphasis will be placed on flexibility, stretch, and balance to increase technique on an individual level. Students will be taught proper technique for landing and supporting one another in partner work. Dancers will perform two routines (one jazz and one acro) in the annual recital.

An emphasis will be placed on flexibility, stretch, and balance to increase technique on an individual level. Students will be taught proper technique for landing and supporting one another in partner work. In addition, acro study at Harmony relies on a strong technical foundation. Dancers will perform at least 1 routine in the annual recital.

An emphasis will be placed on flexibility, stretch, and balance to increase technique on an individual level. Students will be taught proper technique for landing and supporting one another in partner work. In addition, acro study at Harmony relies on a strong technical foundation. Dancers will perform at least 1 routine in the annual recital.

A hour long, weekly introduction to musical theater class for students aged 5-9 years (as of August 31, 2024. This class is designed to give all our 5-9 year old students experience in performing and to develop their talents in Singing, Dancing and Acting. This helps them become more comfortable with performing in front of others as well as to become Triple Threat performers. Stage make-up and costuming will also be explored as we work together to create something amazing to present at the annual recital!

Company TechniqueChoreography is a required class that is exclusively for members of The Harmony Elite Company. Class will consist of ballet and jazz technique, leaps and turns study and advanced combinations. Special performance pieces will also be learned during these classes.
