Our original, signature interdisciplinary workshop explores a variety of creative areas with a central story and a themed process art project. We may fill our time each week with additional art projects or stories, creative writing, music, and/or movement. Spring Session 2 will keep going with our exploration of Kids Around the World!

This session ends with a showcase to display students' work.

Sampler 2 explores the elements of art & principles of design using a variety of materials and techniques. Time may be filled with related stories and/or creative writing. Spring 2 session will focus on elements of art such as form, texture, and perspective.

Each session ends with a showcase to display students' work.

A specific activity may focus on a certain area or experiment with multiple materials & techniques at once. We will take suggestions from students about projects or materials to explore, and we may even gain inspiration from current art trends!
(NOTE: While we may gain inspiration from social media trends, we will not view videos in class without first checking them for age-appropriate content).

The session ends with a showcase to display students' work.

This exciting class for 1st-5th grade will be filled with music, art, and dance as we explore favorite songs from movies, musicals, and more! Students will explore vocal performance techniques and dance choreography as they sing along with favorite songs and create simple sets & props for a final end-of-session showcase.

This is not a full musical theater production class. Students will sing & perform numbers from a variety of sources in a single show as they are exposed to different elements of performance.

Perfect for the student who loves to sing & dance, this is a great introduction to musical theater and performance in a relaxed, supportive environment.

Acting For YoungStars 2.0 brings a fun introduction to theater performance to our summer programs. In addition to Jape Payette's classic program that includes learning scenes, sharing talents, and singing along together, this 2.0 version adds set & prop design and a full-color program for the final showcase.

Please note:
- Students will need to spend time outside of our program each day in order to learn their lines for the final showcase. Children who are not confident readers will require adult assistance to help them feel prepared each day as they rehearse for the showcase. 
- The required scene book is a one-time purchase good for multiple sessions of Acting For YoungStars. Each student is required to have their own scene book.
