Tippy Toe Tots
The Tippy Toe Tots class is a 30-minute class in which the children start in a welcome circle where they learn warming and stretching skills through games and stories. The next portion of the class is set up in stations where various pieces of equipment are used (i.e. mini trampoline, spot markers, cones, tunnels, balance beam, wedge mat, etc) and the children cycle through the skills at each station. We do various activities and exercises that help with locomotor skills, non-locomotor skills, balance, coordination, strength, flexibility and rhythm skills. The final portion of the class is spent doing free dancing where sometimes props are used (i.e. scarves, poms, rhythm sticks, etc.). The dance recital is optional for this class since some of the children will be ready for it and others will not be.
