Ballet is a classical dance style recognized for its beauty and grace as well as providing the foundation for all dance styles. In these 45 minute ballet classes we focus on placement, alignment, flexibility and musicality through a blend of traditional ballet techniques and contemporary movement. Fundamental ballet concepts, vocabulary and skills are introduced through standard combinations at the barre and in the classroom center. Each ballet level is designed to be taken for 2 years in a row. As dancers advance through the levels, exercises will increase in length and difficulty.

Lyrical dance combines elements of ballet and jazz to create a soft style that emphasizes the storytelling quality of music. An emphasis is placed on grace and fluidity, musicality, and expressiveness to capture emotion through movement. This 45 minute class is aimed at dancers 9+ who have experience in Ballet and/or Jazz, and teaches proper body alignment, center of balance, and beginning turns, jumps, and floor work.

*Your child may be moved from the class you register for. The 1st day of class will be an evaluation class, the instructor will use this time to thoroughly evaluate your child and to accurately place them to maximize their development and ensure they are in an environment where they will thrive.**
Tumblers will work on improving flexibility, strength and floor skills. Each day will consist of stretching, floor/ tumbling skills and strength conditioning. Bring your water bottles, and wear comfortable stretchy clothing!

This dance style is typically danced to ballads and is often used to "spice up" the average slow dance. The class will help build memory function, and creativity while keeping it low impact. Requirements: You must register with a partner. Clean, indoor shoes (no running shoes).

Lauren McInnes, who has been running this program from her home for years, will be joining the Skyline team as our Licensed The Music Class Instructor. Lauren's son in law Douglas Walker will be running The Music Class this session!
This a fun-filled class of singing, dancing, movement, and instrument play, all designed to stimulate musical learning! Mixed-age classes are developmentally appropriate and allow siblings to enjoy class together. TMC classes meet once a week for 45 minutes, in 8-week sessions based on seasonal programming and TMC™ library of 12 song collections allows your family to enjoy class for three years with all new music each session.

Adult Ballet - Session 1
This class will cover basic ballet positions, steps and vocabulary with a focus on the student's awareness of proper posture and body alignment. Standing barre work and some center floor exercises will be given to enhance coordination, strength, balance and flexibility. Fitness balls may be used as well to experience PBT (Progressing Ballet Technique), an innovative body conditioning and strength-building program that prioritises muscle memory development through ballet-specific exercises.
