This introductory dance course aims to, first and foremost, generate a safe space that encourages young artists to not only explore their own bodies through movement, but new ways of thinking, making, and doing. This program is designed to help develop character and self-discipline, while nurturing physical, emotional, and intellectual growth. Students will be introduced to ballet through age appropriate dance terminology and skill development complemented by exercises which enhance flexibility, coordination, balance, range of motion, and strength in preparation for more formal training.
